July 15 Legion Baseball Roundup - Strong fourth inning propels Alexandria past Platte-Geddes

Alexandria Post 41 6, Platte-Geddes 4

PLATTE — Alexandria used a five-run fourth inning to pick up an American Legion baseball win over Platte-Geddes on Saturday. 

Sutton Dewald finished with two of the team’s seven hits. Hadley Wallace, Jayce Slaba, Hayden Schroeder, Riley Haynes and AJ Wilber each had hits. Jackson Jarding earned the win after three strikeouts, allowed five hits, one earned run and two walks in his four-inning start. He also drove in two runs at the plate. 

For Platte-Geddes, Carter Lenz finished with two hits. Aiden Bultje, Joey Foxley, Jaxon Christensen, Caden Oberbroekling and Dawson Hoffman each had hits. Dakota Munger took the loss after allowing four hits, five runs (one earned), one walk and struck out two batters in 1.1 relief innings. 


Rapid City Post 22 8, Sioux Falls Post 15 3 

SIOUX FALLS — Rapid City Post 22 logged 11 hits en route to an American Legion baseball win on Saturday. 

Wyatt Reeder finished with a team-high three hits and drove in one run. Harrison Good, Alex Dietrich and Hayden Holec had two hits apiece, while Holec drove in three runs. Declan Mickley earned the win after seven strikeouts, two hits allowed, one earned run allowed and three walks in his 4.2-inning start. 

For Sioux Falls Post 15, Keegan Johnston had two hits and drove in a run. Tyler Duin took the loss after scattering eight hits, allowing two earned runs and striking out one batter in his four-inning start. 


Rapid City Post 22 11, Sioux Falls Post 15 3

SIOUX FALLS — Lee Neugebauer struck out five batters as Rapid City Post 22 picked up an American Legion baseball win on Saturday. 

Neugebauer allowed two hits, one earned run and four walks in his five-inning start. Harrison Good had a team-high three hits and drove in a run. Wyatt Reeder and Dominic McKnight had two hits apiece, while McKnight drove in three runs. Alex Dietrich and Aaron Roach drove in two runs apiece.

For Sioux Falls Post 15, Noah Verdoorn, Keegan Johnston and Treyson Harty-Olsen each had hits. Harty-Olsen drove in a run. Johnston took the loss after allowing six hits, six earned runs, two walks and struck out three batters in three relief innings. 


Sioux Falls East 9, Rapid City Post 320 5

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls East’s A. Glovich struck out seven batters as Sioux Falls East picked up an American Legion baseball win on Saturday. 

Glovich scattered six hits, allowed one earned run and issued zero walks in his six-inning start. 

Myles Rees, Andrew Glovich, Tristan Fitzsimmons and Cooper Perry posted two hits apiece in the win. Perry drove in four runs, while Fitzsimmons knocked in two runs. 

For Post 320, Jack Ammerman had two hits and drove in a run. Jett Wetzler took the loss after allowing eight hits, nine runs (three earned runs), two walks and struck out four batters in his 4.2-inning start. 


Sioux Falls East 11, Rapid City Post 320 1 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Myles Rees drove in six runs to power Sioux Falls East to an American Legion baseball win on Saturday. 

Rees finished 3 of 4, including a double and a home run. Cooper Perry added two hits and three RBI. Sawyer Mindt drove in a run. Lincoln Vasgaard struck out seven batters, allowed two hits, one earned run and issued one walk in his five-inning start to pick up the win.

For Post 320, Mason Mehlhaff and Ryan Rufledt each had hits. Rufledt drove in the lone run. Laadon Faatz took the loss after allowing four hits, four runs (two earned), two walks and struck out one batter in his 1.2-inning start.
