Madison 10, Colman 9

FLANDREAU — Heith Williams walk-off RBI single lifted Madison to a District 4B amateur baseball victory on Friday.

Trailing 9-8 Nate Ricke and Aspen Dahl drove in runs in the ninth, setting the stage for Williams’ walk-off single for the Broncos. T. Smith led Madison with four hits and three RBI. Williams and Mitch McNary had three hits and an RBI apiece. Starter Tyler Tappe lasted six innings and struck out 10 batters, allowed eight hits, four earned runs and walked three batters. Brock Minnaert earned the win after scattering four hits and allowed one earned run, while he struck out one batter in 2.2 relief innings.

For Colman, Chris Burke, Deon Entringer, Ian Barker, Colt Hawkins and Carter Roach had two hits apiece. Roach drove in two runs. Barker lasted the first eight innings and struck out nine batters, while he allowed 11 hits, seven earned runs and walked three batters. Entringer took the loss after allowing three hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out one batter in .2 relief innings. 


Alexandria 21, Corsica-Stickney 9 (7 innings)

PARKSTON — Cole Wenande and Tyson Gau powered Alexandria’s offensive onslaught in District 5B amateur baseball action on Friday.

Wenande finished 2 of 5, drove in five runs and hammered two home runs, including a grand slam. Gau went 3 of 3 and knocked in seven runs, including a grand slam. Peyton Smith finished 3 of 5 and knocked in three runs. Jordan Gau added two hits. Reid Smith drove in two runs. Tyson Gau picked up the win after scattering 11 hits, allowing six earned runs and striking out two batters in his three-inning start. Ethan Davis allowed four hits and struck out four batters in four scoreless innings of relief.

For Corsica-Stickney, Ryan Buck had three hits and an RBI. Luke Bamberg had two hits and knocked in two runs. Kris Menning, Blake Moke, Caleb Crist, Brendan Wentland and Jordan Dirkes had two hits and an RBI apiece. Nathan Blom took the loss after allowing nine hits, nine earned runs, five walks and struck out four batters in 3.1 relief innings. 


Mount Vernon 6, Parkston Mudcats 4

PARKSTON — Mount Vernon held off the Parkston Mudcats for a District 5B amateur baseball win on Friday. 

Spencer Neugebauer and Brady Albrecht had two hits apiece, while Briggs Havlik drove in two runs. Koby Larson and Deric Denning each knocked in runs. Denning earned the win after six strikeouts, one earned run allowed on five hits and walked six batters in four relief innings. Starter Bradley Dean lasted five innings, giving up six hits, three earned runs, three walks and struck out three batters. 

For Parkston, Cole Knippling had three hits, drove in three runs and smacked a two-run homer. Dan Bonte logged two hits, while Billy Hamilton drove in a run. Jake Weber took the loss after allowing three earned runs on eight hits, struck out four batters and walked two in his six-inning start.
