July 22 Legion Baseball Playoffs Roundup - Mitchell takes a 1-0 series lead over Aberdeen Class A region playoffs

Mitchell 4, Aberdeen 2 

Mitchell scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to hold on to a win over Aberdeen to take a 1-0 series lead in the best of three regional on Friday. 

Mason Geraets led Mithcel at the plate while Jake Helleloid picked up the win for Post 18. Helleloid pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out eight while throwing 110 pitches. 


Winner 16, Gregory 6, 5 innings 

Winner took a 13-0 lead after three innings and sailed to a win over Gregory on Friday. 

Landon Calhoon and Aiden Barfuss led Winner at the plate while Karson Keiser picked up the win for the Royals — pitching 2â…“ innings, giving up two hits while striking out two and walking two.  


Dell Rapids 18, Volga 8, 6 innings 

Dell Rapids opened the floodgates in the fourth inning with eight runs en route to a win over Volga on Friday. 

 Mason Stubbe, Will Jaton led Dell Rapids at the plate while Aiden Boechler picked up the win — pitching six innings, giving up eight runs on two hits. He struck out four and walked eight on 107 pitches. 


Tabor 9, Parkston 6 

Tabor scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to hold onto a win over Parkston on Friday. 

Riley Rothschadl and Nolan Carda led Tabor at the plate. Trent Herrboldt picked up the win for Tabor, pitching seven innings, giving up six runs on seven hits. He struck out seven and walked one on 88 pitches. 


Harrisburg 2, Yankton 0 

Harrisburg scored a run in the second and third innings and held on to a win over Yankton on Friday. 

Maddox Plack picked up the win for Harrisburg — pitching 6â…” innings, giving up five hits while striking out seven and walking one on 106 pitches.
