Four Corners 7, Wessington Springs 6 (10 innings)

KIMBALL — Four Corners scored on a walk-off error in the 10th inning to earn a District 3B amateur baseball tournament win over Wessington Springs on Sunday. Four Corners now advances to the Class B state tournament and will play in the district championship game on Tuesday. 

In the 10th inning, Andrew McCloud hit a ground ball and Justin Lester scored the game-winning run on an error by the third baseman. 

J.D. Farley led Four Corners with three hits, while Cooper Hainy and Lester had two hits apiece. McCloud drove in two runs. Noah Hainy scattered nine hits, allowed five earned runs, walked three batters and struck out nine batters through nine innings to earn the win.

For Wessington Springs, Camden Jost had three hits and knocked in four runs. Parker DeJean and C. Fastnacht had two hits apiece. Terrek Butterfield started and lasted four innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and struck one batter. 


Kimball/White Lake 5, Chamberlain 3

KIMBALL — Kimball/White Lake scored two runs apiece in the seventh and eighth innings to earn a District 3B amateur baseball tourney win on Sunday. Kimball/White Lake advances to the Class B state tournament and will play in the district championship game on Tuesday. 

Zak Wallner struck out 13 batters, allowed two earned runs on six hits and issued zero walks on 116 pitches in a complete-game performance. Wallner added one hit and an RBI at the plate. 

Dylanger Pierson and Jesse Kroupa had three hits and an RBI apiece. Wes Kroupa had two hits and an RBI. 

For Chamberlain, Mike Schwartz had two hits and an RBI. Kyle Forester drove in two runs. Schwartz took the loss after allowing 10 hits, five earned runs, four walks and struck out four batters through eight innings. 


Winner/Colome 5, Platte 2 

PARKSTON — Winner/Colome collected 12 hits and picked up a District 5B amateur baseball tournament win on Sunday. Winner/Colome advances to the Class B state amateur baseball tournament and will play in the district championship on Friday. 

Dillon Lambley led Winner/Colome with three hits and two RBI. Derek Graesser and Drew DeMers had two hits apiece, while DeMers drove in a run. Graesser earned the win after scattering six hits, allowing one earned run and striking out six batters in his eight-inning start. 

For Platte, Sheldon Gant, Mason Townsend, Grant Doom, Richard Sternberg, Hayden Kuiper and Michael Buitenbos each had hits. Buitenbos took the loss after surrendering 12 hits, two earned runs, two walks and striking four batters in his seven-inning start. 


Alexandria 6, Mount Vernon 5

PARKSTON — Jed Schmidt fanned 12 batters as Alexandria held off Mount Vernon for a District 5B amateur baseball tournament win on Sunday. Alexandria advances to the Class B state amateur baseball tournament and will play in the district championship on Friday.

Schmidt allowed four hits, two earned runs and walked three batters on 140 pitches. Jacob Giles finished 3 of 4 and drove in a run. Michael Schoettmer finished with two hits and drove in three runs. Peyton Smith knocked in two runs. 

For Mount Vernon, Koby Larson drove in three runs. Luke Tiesler took the loss after scattering 10 hits, allowing six earned runs, four walks and striking out eight batters on 132 pitches.
