Dimock-Emery Raptors 6, Mount Vernon Mustangs 4

PARKSTON — Dimock-Emery held off Mount Vernon in District 5B amateur baseball action on Thursday.

The Raptors, who built a 6-0 lead after five innings, received 10 strikeouts from Jason Schmidt. Schmidt allowed five hits, two earned runs and walked one batter in five innings. Phil Johnson allowed three hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out one batter in four innings.

Schmidt also had two hits. 

Peyton Nash and Sam Pischke had three hits apiece for Dimock-Emery, which had 12 total hits. Drew Kitchens added two hits, while Chase Arend and Josh Engquist each had hits.

For Mount Vernon, Walker Hultgren, Austin Graves and Bradley Dean each had two hits. Hultgren drove in two runs. Luke Tiesler took the loss, allowing 12 hits, five earned runs, two walks and struck out six batters in eight innings. 

 

Winner/Colome 15, Parkston Devil Rays 5 (7 innings)

PARKSTON --- Connor Hopkins struck out 13 batters and Winner/Colome pounded out 13 hits in a District 5B amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Hopkins allowed five hits, two earned runs and walked five batters on 152 pitches. Chandler Bakley paced the offense with four hits and two RBI. Austin Richey had three hits and drove in two runs. Derek Graesser, JJ Farner and Austin Calhoon drove in two runs apiece. 

For the Devil Rays, Seth Muth, Dylan Soulek, Jonah Schmidt, Jake Helleloid and Max Scott all had hits. Landon Sudbeck took the loss, allowing two earned runs, five walks, zero hits and had zero strikeouts in 1.1 innings. 


Freeman Blacksox 8, Wynot Expos (Neb.) 3

LESTERVILLE — Bailey Sage drove in three runs as Freeman picked up a District 6B amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Sage finished 2-for-3 for Freeman, which had eight hits. Lee Scherschligt had two hits and drove in a run. Rocky Ammann, Jonah Hofer, Jackson Fiegen and Sam Gillespie each had hits. Fiegen struck out seven batters, allowed five hits, zero earned runs and walked one batter in six innings.

For Wynot, Devin Lammers had three hits and smacked a solo home run. Landon Wieseler and Scott Morrison both had two hits and an RBI. Wieseler struck out three batters, allowed six hits, four earned runs and four walks in five innings.
