Lake Norden/Badger 7, Alexandria 5

ALEXANDRIA — Turner Stevenson’s walk-off homer lifted Lake Norden/Badger to the Legion Region 5B  championship Friday.

Stevenson batted 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs, Cristhian Rodriguez and Ryker Warrington each drove in a run on one hit, while Dawson Noem tallied a hit as well.

Warrington earned the victory on the mound allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk, striking out five batters along the way.

For Alexandria, Jackson Jarding and Weston Kayser combined for the loss on the mound, allowing seven runs on six hits and six walks, striking out three.

Jayce Slaba tallied two hits, AJ Wilber drove in a run on two hits, including a double, Ben Wilber drove in two runs on a base hit, while Jarding drove in a run on a double as well.


Big Stone City 6, Milbank 1

CASTLEWOOD — Big Stone City jumped out to an early six-run lead to claim the Region 1B Legion championship Friday.

Carter Lee drove in two runs on two hits, Connor Danielson collected an RBI on one hit, Braxton Brandriet drove in a run, while Carter Brown, Dru Boots, and Isaac Kirchberg each tallied hits.

Isaac Brown took the victory on the mound in seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and a walk, striking out six.

Daniel Shelstad took the loss for Milbank, allowing six runs on six hits and two walks.

Mason Meister tallied three hits, Nollen Scheely drove in a run, while Josh Pederson and Tanner Hallquist each tallied doubles in the loss.


Madison 11, Volga 1 (6 innings)

MADISON — Madison scored seven sixth-inning runs to advance to the Region 2B tournament championship game Friday.

Parker Johnson tallied three hits, two doubles, and three RBIs. Braxton Bjorklund had two hits, a homer, and two RBIs. Quincy Kurtz drove in two runs on a hit, Thomas Mechels and Jovi Wolf each drove in a run on one hit, Ben Brooks had an RBI, while Tregg McGillivary tallied two hits in the win.

Bjorklund went all six innings for the victory on the mound, allowing one run on one hit and six walks, striking out five.

For Volga, Micah Otto took the loss allowing four runs on four hits.

Caleb Murphy hit the only base hit of the game for Volga.


Dell Rapids 11, Madison 1 (6 innings)

MADISON — Drake Eastman struck out nine batters as Dell Rapids won the Legion Region 2B championship Friday.

Eastman gave up one run on three hits and four walks while striking out nine to take the victory on the mound.

CJ Smith drove in three runs on two hits, Talan Millage had an RBI-single, while Tad Tjaden, Mason Stubbe, Cole Ruesink, and Lincoln Fersdahl each had hits, including a double by Ruesink.

Jovi Wolf took the loss on the mound allowing five runs on two hits and three walks.

Ben Brooks drove in the lone run on one hit while Quincy Kurtz and Parker Johnson each had hits for Madison.


Lennox 3, Vermillion 1

LENNOX — Braxton Musser’s complete game on the mound helped Lennox defeat Vermillion in the Region 3B tournament Friday.

Musser allowed one run on five hits in just 85 pitches to earn the victory on the mound, including four strikeouts.

Jaxon Bittner and Isaac Bambas each had two hits, a double, and an RBI while Cole Spieler drove in a run on a hit as well for Lennox.

For Vermillion, Connor Peterson and Tate Hage combined for the loss, allowing three runs on six hits and four walks, striking out five.

Hage collected three hits, including a double, while Jack Moskowitz and Karson Preister each had hits in the loss.

With the loss, Vermillion was eliminated from the Region 4B tournament.


Lennox 4, Elk Point/Jefferson 2

LENNOX — Lennox jumped out to an early three-run lead to defeat Elk Point/Jefferson in the first game of the Region 3B championship Friday.

Cole Spieler drove in a run on one hit, Simon Bowers and Talen Eich collected an RBI on a sac-fly, while Dayne Moeller had two hits.

Emery Lefers took the victory on the mound in 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and five walks, fanning seven batters.

For EPJ, Wyatt Herrity took the loss allowing four runs on five hits and a walk in 3.1 innings.

Brody Van Roekel drove in a run on one hit, while Ty Trometer, Ethan Bovill, Jacob Gale, and Jace Shatswell each had hits in the loss.

With a Lennox win, a winner-take-all game for the Region 3B championship will be Saturday at 6 p.m in Lennox.


Parkston 5, Tabor 4

CORSICA — Parkston held off a late rally to punch their ticket to the State B Legion baseball tournament Friday.

Brayden Jervik, James Deckert, and Brody Boettcher led the offense with two hits and an RBI each, including a double and homer by Jervik. Drew Braley hit an RBI-double that scored one, Maddux Brissette smacked a solo homer, while Carter Sommer tallied a hit in the victory as well.

Luke Bormann and Jervik combined for the victory on the mound, allowing four runs on 10 hits and six walks, striking out eight batters along the way.

For Tabor, Easton Mudder and Trey Kaul combined for the loss, allowing five runs on nine hits and three walks, striking out three in six innings of work.

Major Aarstad and Landon Smith each had three hits and an RBI, including a double by Smith. Trey Kaul hit a two-run homer, while Easton Mudder, Landon Bares, and Isaiah Crownover each had hits in the loss.


Groton 7, Warner/Ipswich/Northwestern 4

CLARK — Groton’s three-run sixth-inning lifted it to the Legion Region 6B championship over Warner/Ipswich/Northville Friday.

Colby Dunker led the offense with two doubles and three RBIs, Brevin Fliehs had two hits, a double, and an RBI, Dillon Abeln and Bradin Althoff each had a hit and an RBI, while Ryan Groeblinghoff, Karsten Fliehs, and Braxton Imrie each had hits in the victory.

Fliehs took the victory on the mound in six innings, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks, striking out seven.

For WIN, Logan Fischbach took the loss allowing seven runs on eight hits and three walks in 5.1 innings, striking out four.

Samuel Vetter and Alec Mikkelson each had two hits and an RBI while Ashton Remily tallied an RBI-single in the loss as well.


Harrisburg Gold 21, Rapid City Stars 4 (5 innings)

HARRISBURG — Harrisburg collected 16 hits as it topped Rapid City Post 320 to advance to the Class A Legion state tournament Friday.

Ty Raymond and Sam Sutton each hit a homer in the win, combining for five RBIs. Eli Kokenge collected three hits, a double, and two RBIs. Palmer Boyd drove in three runs on one hit, Coen Cook drove in two runs on two doubles, Max Carlson and Jack Riley collected two hits apiece, including a triple and an RBI by Carlson, while Kason Syverson hit a double in the win.

Darren Safranski took the win on the mound, allowing three runs on two hits and six walks in three innings, striking out four batters.

For Rapid City, Nolan Williamson took the loss allowing 11 runs on seven hits and two walks in two innings, striking out just one batter.

Ian Feeger drove in a run on two hits, Tegan Sayles hit a double, while Christian Kreun, Jonah Blake, and Jacob Decker each drove in a run on walks in the loss.


Rapid City Hardhats 13 , Huron 0 (5 innings)

RAPID CITY — Harrison Good drove in five runs as Rapity City Post 22 advanced to the State A Legion tournament Friday.

Good batted 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs, Tate Crosswait drove in three runs on a homer and a walk, Jace Morgan and Hayden Holec each drove in two runs on a combined five hits and one walk, including a double, triple, and homer by Morgan and two doubles by Holec.

Hayden Leighty earned the victory on the mound for Post 22, allowing one hit and two walks in four shutout innings, striking out seven batters.

For Huron, Layne Wenzel took the loss in four innings on the mound, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks.

Wenzel batted 1-for-2 at the plate while Brady Feenstra also tallied a hit in the loss.


Renner Royals 13, Spearfish 0 (5 innings)

RENNER — Zachary Dunham drove in six runs as Renner advanced to the Class A Legion state tournament Friday.

Dunham batted 3-for-3 with a homer driving in six total runs, Charlie Hueners and Hunter Den Boer each drove in two runs on one hit, Sullivan Schlimgen tallied two hits and an RBI, while Kyle Konechne tallied an RBI on one hit in the win as well.

Jake Wheeler took the victory on the mound, allowing just three hits and three walks in five innings of work, striking out nine batters.

For Spearfish, Sean Sewell took the loss in three innings pitched, surrendering 10 runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out one.

Aiden Meverden, Cody Chapman, and Brock Lewis each tallied hits in the loss, including a double by Lewis.


Sioux Falls East 11, Harrisburg Maroon 0 (6 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Seven batters each drove in a run as Sioux Falls East punched their ticket to the State A Legion baseball tournament Friday.

Dylan Rippentrop had two hits, a double, and two RBIs, Colin Lunders had two hits and an RBI, Tate Schafer batted 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Dietrich Haan and Brayden Olson each drove in a run on one hit, including a double by Olson. Ryan Hirsch had one hit, one walk, and one RBI while Sawyer Tolk had an RBI-single in the win as well.

Kasen Christiansen earned the victory on the mound in five shutout innings, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out seven.

For HM, Wilson Munzke took the loss allowing seven runs on nine hits in 3.1 innings.

Jason Hanson, Griffen Schlapkohl, and Carson Drexler each had hits in the loss..


Watertown 3, Pierre 0

WATERTOWN — Talan Jurgens tossed a complete game shutout to help Watertown advance to the State A Legion baseball tournament Friday.

Jurgens allowed just two hits and a walk in a seven-inning, 84-pitch performance, striking out four batters to take the victory on the mound.

Nash Berg drove in a run on two hits, Dylan Rawdon drove in a run on a hit and a walk, while Kaden Rylance, Nathan Briggs, and Markus Pitkin each tallied hits in the win.

For Pierre, Cooper Terwilliger took the loss in six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks, striking out three batters.

Nolan Petersen and Miles Doyle each had hits in the loss for Pierre.


Yankton 10, Sioux Falls West 0 (6 innings)

YANKTON — Owen Wishon’s no-hitter lifted Yankton to the Class A Legion state tournament Friday.

Wishon gave up just one walk and one hit batter in six innings, including six strikeouts to earn the victory on the mound. Wishon also drove in four runs on a double and two walks for Yankton in the win.

Easton Feser had two hits and two RBIs, Lucas Kampshoff had an RBI-walk, Samuel Gokie drove in a run on a hit and a walk, while Tate Beste had a hit and two walks for Yankton.

For Sioux Falls West, Jack Kieso took the loss allowing seven runs on three hits and six walks in 3.1 innings.


Brandon Valley 3, Aberdeen Smittys 2 (9 innings)

ABERDEEN — Brayden Knutson’s walk-off single propelled Brandon Valley to the State A Legion tournament Friday.

Knutson drove in the winning run on 1-for-4 day, Grady Gindorff drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Aiden Zerr, Jackson Adams, and Nolan Pudwill each tallied hits in the win.

Carter LaBrie took the victory on the mound in four shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out two.

For Aberdeen, Joran Foss took the loss allowing one run on three hits and a walk in 3.1 innings, striking out three batters.

Zane Backous drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, while six other batters tallied hits in the loss, including a double by Jackson Welke.
