July 29 Class A Legion Baseball Roundup - Sioux Falls Post 15 East edges Mitchell Post 18 for tourney win

Sioux Falls Post 15 East 8, Mitchell Post 18 7

RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Post 15 East held off Mitchell Post 18 for a win at the Class A Legion baseball tournament on Friday.

Lincoln Vasgaard pitched Post 15 East to the win, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out four in his five inning start.

Cael Swanson, Ethan Bruns, and Mason Tolrud each had two hits to lead Post 15 East. Bruns had three RBI, while Myles Rees and Jack Smith each had two RBI.

Jace Larson took the loss for Mitchell, allowing eight hits and six runs and striking out four in five innings.

Jonah Schmidt led Mitchell with two hits in three at bats and five RBI. Dylan Soulek and Mason Geraets each added one RBI. 


Harrisburg Post 45 8, Brookings Post 74 0

RAPID CITY — Harrisburg Post 45 earned a shutout win over Brookings Post 74 at the Class A Legion baseball tournament on Friday.

Brandon Simunek took the win for Harrisburg, allowing zero runs on five hits and striking out one in five innings.

Carter Barenfuss, Taylor Klein, Maddux Scherer, and Jack Sutton each had two hits to lead Harrisburg. Scherer led with four RBI, while Klein tallied two RBI. Lincoln Carlson added one RBI.

Parker Winghart took the loss for Brookings, surrendering two runs on eight hits, while striking out one and walking one in six innings. Lincoln Hardin started the game for Brookings, allowing three hits and six runs in one inning.

Justin Cofell led Brookings with two hits in four at bats.


Rapid City Post 22 13, Pierre Post 8 2

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Post 22 cruised past Pierre Post 8 for a win at the Class A Legion baseball tournament on Friday.

Lee Neugebauer picked up the win for Rapid City, allowing five hits and two runs in five innings, while striking out two and walking one.

Rapid City Post 22 racked up 13 hits, with Wyatt Anderson, Mars Sailer, Harrison Good, Wilson Kieffer, and Jacob Solano each recording two hits. Good led with three RBI, while Kieffer and Solano each added two RBI. 

Aaron Booth took the loss for Pierre, giving up five runs on two hits in ⅔ of an inning.

Lincoln Kienholz led Pierre with two hits in three at bats and one home run in the third inning. Kienholz also had one RBI.
