July 30 Class A Legion Baseball Roundup - Rapid City Post 22 outlasts Sioux Falls East in nine innings

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Post 22 outlasted Sioux Falls East Post 15 in a Class A Legion baseball nine-inning marathon game on Saturday. Rapid City will play Harrisburg on Sunday. The winner will play Sioux Falls East in the championship game. 

Wilson Kieffer took the win for Post 22, allowing one hit and zero runs in two innings, while striking out three and walking one. Brian Atkinson started the game for Post 22, surrendering five runs on eight hits, along with two strikeouts and one walk in 2 ⅓ innings.

Mars Sailer led Post 22 with two hits, while Wyatt Anderson and Harrison Good added one hit apiece. Good led with two RBI, while Anderson and Dylon Marsh contributed one RBI each.

Jack Smith took the loss for Sioux Falls East, allowing one run on one hit in three innings, while striking out four. Reagan Leininger started the game for Sioux Falls East, giving up four runs on three hits and striking out three in five innings.

Sawyer Tolk and Tate Schafer led Sioux Falls East with three hits each, while Cael Swanson and Jackson Boe added two hits apiece. Smith, Swanson, Boe, Schafer, and Andrew Glovich each drove in one run.


Harrisburg Post 45 7, Mitchell Post 18 0

RAPID CITY — Harrisburg Post 45 earned a shutout win over Mitchell Post 18 at the Class A Legion baseball tournament on Saturday. Harrisburg will play Rapid City Post 22 on Sunday. 

Palmer Boyd led Harrisburg on the mound, giving up zero runs on three hits in seven innings, while striking out ten.

Maddux Scherer and Tyman Long led Harrisburg with two hits each. Long had three RBI, while Jack Riley tallied two RBI. Scherer added one RBI.

Jonah Schmidt led Mitchell on the hill, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out seven in his five inning start.

Seth Muth, Jace Larson, and Peyton Mandel each had one hit for Mitchell.
