Post 320 Stars 9, Aberdeen Smittys 8 (10 innings)

ABERDEEN — Noah Popken’s single in the tenth inning drove in the winning run as the Post 320 Stars edged the Aberdeen Smittys in a Legion baseball game on Wednesday.

James Rogers took the win for the Post 320 Stars, allowing seven hits and three runs, while striking out four and walking one in 4 ⅔ innings.

Mason Mehlhaff led the Post 320 Stars with three hits in five at bats, while Gavyn Dansby and Jace Wetzler each had two hits. Ryan Rufledt drove in two runs.

Jaiden Smith led the Aberdeen Smittys on the hill, allowing three runs on three hits, while striking out one.

Smith also led the Aberdeen Smittys with three hits in six at bats, while Nick Clemens, Casey Vining, Josh Steinwandt, and Andrew Richardson each had two hits. Richardson also drove in two runs.


Post 74 Bandits 7, Brandon Valley Post 131 0

BROOKINGS — The Post 74 Bandits picked up a Legion baseball win over Brandon Valley Post 131 on Wednesday.

Jake Ammann took the win for the Post 74 Bandits, allowing one hit and zero runs in six innings, while striking out six.

Nathan Lease and Lincoln Hardin led the Post 74 Bandits with two hits apiece, while Lease drove in two runs.

Aiden Zerr took the loss for Brandon Valley Post 131, pitching 2 ⅓ innings and allowing five runs on six hits, while striking out three.

Austin Reiter led Post 131 with two hits.

Brandon Valley Post 131 won Game 2, 4-2.

PIERRE — Pierre Post 8 earned a Legion baseball win over the Post 22 Hardhats on Wednesday.

Lincoln Kienholz picked up the win for Pierre Post 8, allowing zero runs on four hits in seven innings, while striking out 15 and walking one.

Pierre Post 8 tallied ten hits, with Kienholz and Jonny Lyons tallying two hits apiece. Kienholz drove in one run, while Bennett Dean had one home run.

Palmer Jacobs took the loss for the Post 22 Hardhats, giving up three runs on eight hits in 4 ⅓ innings, while striking out four.


Dell Rapids Post 65 1, Post 1 0

VERMILLION — Dell Rapids Post 65 edged Post 1 for a Legion baseball win on Wednesday.

Jack Henry took the win for Dell Rapids Post 65, allowing zero hits and zero runs in six innings, while striking out nine.

Brayden Pankonen led Post 65 with two hits in three at bats, while Henry added one hit and one RBI. C.J. Smith and Treyse Eastman each had one hit.

Ben Burbach took the loss for Post 1, giving up one run on five hits in seven innings, while striking out three and walking one.

Burbach led Post 1 with one hit in two at bats.


Elk Point-Jefferson 8, Baltic Post 175 6

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson picked up a Legion baseball win over Baltic Post 175 on Wednesday.

Noah Larson took the win for Elk Point-Jefferson, allowing eight runs on seven hits in 5 ⅔ innings, while striking out three.

Christian Mueller and Noah McDermott led Elk Point-Jefferson with two hits apiece. Jacob Gale drove in two runs, while Mueller and McDermott each drove in one run.

Riley Schultz took the loss for Baltic Post 175, giving up three runs on three hits in three innings, while striking out five and walking one. Riley Dobbins started the game for Post 175, giving up five runs on five hits in three innings, while striking out three.

Jose Valadez led Post 175 with two hits in three at bats. Colbe Scott, Beau Keith, and Hunter Larson each drove in two runs.


Post 15 East 2, Sioux Falls Post 15 West 1

SIOUX FALLS — Post 15 East scored two runs in the seventh inning to edge Sioux Falls Post 15 West in a Legion baseball game on Wednesday.

Andrew Glovich earned the win on the hill for Post 15 East, allowing zero runs on zero hits in 2 ⅓ innings, while striking out four. Lincoln Vasgaard started the game for Post 15 East, allowing two hits and one run in 4 ⅔ innings, while striking out seven.

Tate Schafer led Post 15 East with two hits in three at bat, while Sawyer Tolk, Myles Rees, and Cael Swanson each had one hit. Tristan Fitzsimmons drove in one run.

Dexter Payne took the loss for Post 15 West, allowing one hit and two runs in one inning. Kyler Miritello started the game for Post 15 West, pitching six innings and allowing four hits and zero runs, while striking out nine.

Brayden Byrum and Treyson Harty-Olsen each had one hit for Post 15 West. Payne drove in one run.

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley Post 319 raced past the Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Post 72 Black Sox for a Legion baseball win on Wednesday.

Beau Pollema picked up the win for Post 319, allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out five and walking one.

Jackson Strawn and Jaxon Hennies led Post 319 with two apiece. Strawn drove in four runs and Hennies drove in three runs.

Cooper Nelson took the loss for the Black Sox, pitching 2 ⅔ innings and allowing five hits and eight runs, while striking out two.

Max Orr led the Black Sox with two hits, while Isaac Ward drove in one run.


Gregory County 9, Valentine (Neb.) 3

VALENTINE, Neb. — Gregory County raced past Valentine, Neb. for a Legion baseball win on Wednesday.

Ben Witt took the win for Gregory County, pitching four innings and allowing three hits and one run, while striking out three and walking one.

Trey Murray and Sawyer Tietgen each had two hits to lead Gregory County. Witt drove in three runs and Gunnar Stephens drove in two runs.


Post 70 Flandreau 11, Elkton 9

ELKTON — Post 70 Flandreau held off Elkton for a Legion baseball win on Wednesday.

Tanner Christenson pitched Post 70 Flandreau to the win, allowing one hit and three runs in 1 ⅔ innings, while striking out three and walking one. Kolby Peters started the game for Post 70 Flandreau, giving up six runs on seven hits in 4 ⅔ innings, while striking out ten.

Post 70 Flandreau scattered 13 hits, with Peters, Ethan Hoffman, and Maddox Biever each collecting three hits. Peters had four RBI.

Sam Nibbe took the loss for Elkton, pitching 2 ⅓ innings and allowing five hits and five runs, while striking out five. Aiden Stewart started the game for Elkton, allowing six runs on eight hits, while striking out 11 in 4 ⅔ innings.

Elkton tallied nine hits, with Aiden Erickson collecting three hits in five at bats. Ryan Krog added two hits and two RBI. Brayden Clifford led with three RBI.

WHEATLAND, Wyo. — Spearfish Post 164 scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a come-from-behind win over Wheatland, Wyo. in a Legion baseball game on Wednesday.

Aiden Meverden picked up the win for Post 164, allowing zero runs on one hit in 1 ⅓ innings, while walking one. Alec Sundsted started the game for Post 164, allowing 11 hits and six runs in 5 ⅔ innings, while striking out five.

Kaidon Feyereisen led Post 164 with two hits in three at bats. Ty Sieber had three RBI, while Cody Chapman and Noah Mollman each had two RBI.

Spearfish Post 164 also won Game 2 by a score of 10-8.

BELLE FOURCHE — The Belle Fourche Post 32 Broncs dropped a Legion baseball game against the Gillette Rustlers on Wednesday.

Sean Wahlfeldt led Belle Fourche on the mound, allowing five hits and six runs in 4 ⅔ innings, while striking out two.

Brayden Carbajal led Belle Fourche with two hits in four at bats. Wahlfeldt, Ryker Audiss, Dalton Davis, and Evan Vissia each had one hit, while Wahlfeldt and Audiss each drove in one run.
