Clark Traders 6, Elkton Snappers 5

ELKTON — Andrew Magedanz’s fifth-inning RBI-single gave Clark the lead and the win as it defeated Elkton in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday evening.

Magedanz batted 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Peyton Garbers batted a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, Grayson Florey drove in two runs on a double and a walk, while Brent Griffith drove in another run on one hit.

Wesley Jones earned the victory on the mound in six innings pitched, allowing six hits and five runs, striking out six batters.

For Elkton, Dylan Gillespie took the loss in one inning pitched, allowing four hits, two walks, and five runs.

Kellan Sattler, Aidan Stewart, and Brady Steffen each drove in one run while Logan Kuehl tallied two hits in the loss.


Mitchell Aces 6, Yankton Tappers 5

MITCHELL — Lincoln Bates’ walk-off RBI-single earned Mitchell a comeback amateur baseball victory over Yankton Sunday afternoon.

Bates drove in one run on two hits in the win, including a triple earlier in the game. Carter Miller tallied three hits and an RBI, Karter Sibson drove in three runs on two hits, including a double, while Peyton Mandel tallied a hit and an RBI in the win as well.

Blake Brosz earned the  victory in seven innings pitched, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks.

For Yankton, Joe Gokie took the loss in 0.2 innings of relief, allowing one run on one hit.

Mac Ryken drove in a run on two hits, a double, and a walk, Rugby Ryken and Josh Sheldon each drove in a run on one hit, while Will Rauch, Gokie, Kade Sudbeck, and Mitch Gullickson each tallied hits in the loss.


Wynot Expos (Neb.) 6, Freeman Blacksox 5

WYNOT — The Expos held off a late-inning comeback to defeat Freeman in South Central League action Sunday night.

David Schneck led the offense driving in two runs on one hit, Lee Heimes and Landon Wieseler each drove in a run on two hits, including a double by Heimes, Jackson Sudbeck tallied two hits while Peyton Wieseler cracked a double in the win as well.

Landon Wieseler earned the victory on the mound for Wynot, issuing two hits, seven walks, and four runs in six innings pitched, striking out four.

For Freeman, Trey Christensen took the loss in seven innings pitched, allowing eight hits, four walks, and six runs, striking out four.

Jake Weier drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, Bailey Sage drove in two runs on a hit, while Evan Scharberg and Sam Gillespie each tallied hits in the loss.


Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 4, Dell Rapids PBR 2

MADISON — Madison held Dell Rapids scoreless over the final three innings to earn a CornBelt League victory Sunday night.

Heith Williams, Aspen Dahl, and Trey Smith each tallied two hits in the win, including doubles by Dahl and Smith, Ty Jorgenson drove in a run on a double and a walk, while Matt Burbee drove in a run on a double as well.

Brock Minnaert took the victory on the mound in six innings pitched, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks.

For Dell Rapids PBR, Drew Sweeter took the loss despite an eight-inning performance, issuing nine hits, a walk, and four runs.

Conner Spindler and Weston Hansen each drove in one run on one hit, including a homer by Spindler, while Nate McKee tallied two hits in the loss.


Flandreau Blue Teal 6, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 3

HUMBOLDT — Gage Sharping’s 10 strikeouts helped Flandreau defeat the Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks in CornBelt League action Sunday evening.

Sharping allowed three runs on one hit and two walks in six innings pitched, striking out 10 batters throughout. Ethan Johnson earned the victory on the mound tossing three shutout innings, not allowing a baserunner.

Sam Gassman led the offense with three hits, a double, and an RBI, Mason Riley added two hits, a double, and an RBI, while Michael Witte and Johnson each drove in one run on one hit, including a double by Johnson.

Sharping, Kolby Peters, and Tristan Peters each tallied hits in the win as well.

For H/H, Preston Riddle took the loss in 1.1 innings pitched, allowing two runs on three hits.

Brodie Herr recorded the lone hit of the game for the Wood Ducks, while Keaton Vessels drove in a run in the loss.


Lake Norden Lakers 7, Castlewood Ravens 4

LAKE NORDEN — Mitchell Noem’s four-RBI day helped Lake Norden pull past Castlewood in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday night.

Noem batted 3-for-5 with four RBIs, including a two-run homer to pace the Laker offense. Jesse Van Overbeke batted 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, Josh Cleveland drove in a run on three hits, including a double, while Dawson Noem tallied two hits in the win as well.

Jackson Noem, Cam Thue, and Jordon Johnson each tallied hits in the victory for Lake Norden.

JD Kirchner earned the victory on the mound for Lake Norden, issuing four runs on five hits and five walks in seven innings, striking out 10 batters.

For Castlewood, Jacob Tvedt took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on nine hits in three innings pitched.

Tvedt led the offense driving in two runs on a double, while Kellan Benck and Lucas Ching each drove in a run. Gus Steiger tallied two hits, while Kyler Tvedt, Adam Ching, and Carson Kirwan each tallied hits in the loss.


Volga Cormorants 20, Ramona Express 4 (7 innings)

VOLGA — Bayley Colemer drove in seven runs on five hits as Volga defeated Ramona in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday evening.

Colemer batted 5-for-6 in the game, including a double and two home runs, driving in seven total runs in the victory. 

Zane Hiller batted 3-for-6 with a homer and four RBIs, Noah Puetz and Carson Christopherson each drove in two runs on three hits, including doubles by both, while Connor Gross, Trevor Olson, and Damian Danzeisen each drove in a run on a combined eight hits, including doubles by Gross and Olson.

Olson earned the victory on the mound in four innings pitched, issuing three hits and a run, striking out nine batters.

For Ramona, Ken Longman took the loss allowing 15 runs on 20 hits in six innings pitched.

Aaron Schlosser and Casey Renaas each tallied two hits in the loss, with Renaas driving in two runs.


Alexandria Angels 12, Parkston Mudcats 8

PARKSTON — Cole Wenade’s four-hit day helped Alexandria defeat Parkston in Sunshine League action Sunday evening.

Wenande batted 4-for-5 with four RBIs, including a home run that scored two runs. Pierce Smith  drove in three runs on four hits, including a double, Peyton Smith and Jerrod Zens each drove in one run on three hits, including a double by both, while Jacob Giles drove in a run on a hit and a walk in the win as well.

Riley McSherry earned the victory on the mound for Alexandria, allowing three hits, two walks, and two runs in 3.1 innings, striking out eight batters.

For Parkston, Dillon Stadlman took the loss in five innings pitched, issuing eight runs on 10 hits and a walk.

Luke Bormann drove in two runs on two hits, Jeff Harris batted 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI, Matt Malloy drove in a run on three hits, Tyson Kogel drove in a run on a hit and a walk, and Brady Nolz collected two hits, including a double, in the loss as well.


Parkston Devil Rays 13, Mount Vernon Mustangs 0 (7 innings)

MOUNT VERNON — The Devil Ray pitching duo of Jake Helleloid and Ty Nuegebauer blanked Mount Vernon in a Sunshine League victory Sunday night.

Helleloid started on the mound for Parkston, issuing five hits and four walks in five shutout innings, striking out seven, before Nuegebauer closed out the final two frames allowing just two walks.

Dylan Soulek and Max Scott were efficient in the offense for Parkston, Soulek drove in three runs on four hits, including a solo homer, while Scott batted 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs. James Deckert batted a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBIs, Caleb Titze drove in two runs on a single, while Seth Muth, Helleloid, Brayden Jervik, Logan Heidinger, and Carter Sommer each tallied hits in the victory.

For Mount Vernon, Luke Tieseler took the loss in five innings pitched, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks.

Chase Hetland tallied two hits for Mount Vernon, while Bradley Dean, Walker Hultgren, and Deric Denning each tallied hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 15, Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 0 (5 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — The Mudcats piled on 11 runs in the fourth inning to defeat the Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks in Cornbelt League action Sunday evening.

Ty Hoglund and Carter Gullickson paced the Mudcat offense with two hits and three RBIs apiece, including a walk and a home run by Hoglund and a double by Gullickson. Kole Zimmerman drove in two runs on a homer and a walk, Grant Olson drove in two runs on a double, Dalton Lehnen collected three hits, a double, and an RBI, while Kris Regas and Spencer Fruedenthal each drove in one run on one hit.

Lehnen earned the victory on the mound for Dell Rapids, allowing one hit and one walk in five shutout innings, striking out nine batters.

For H/H, Cole Barthel took the loss allowing seven runs on three hits and four walks.

Joe Hanisch tallied the only hit of the game for the Gamecocks.


Redfield Dairy Queen 9, Groton Locke Electric 1 (7 innings)

REDFIELD — Redfield Dairy Queen pounded 11 hits in a Northern Plains League victory over Groton Sunday afternoon.

Camden Osborn and Keaton Rohlfs led the way with three hits apiece, including a triple and two RBIs by Osborn and another RBI by Rohlfs. Peyton Osborn drove in two runs on a homer, Cooper Hainy, Brent Osborn, and Nolan Gall each drove in one run on one hit, including a double by Brent Osborn, while Owen Osborn tallied a hit in the win as well.

Peyton Osborn earned the victory on the mound for Redfield, allowing one run on three hits and a walk in seven innings pitched, striking out four.

For Groton, Alex Morris took the loss allowing 11 hits, three walks, and nine runs in six innings pitched.

Ty Sieber drove in one run on one hit and a walk, while Ben Althoff and Brian Hansen tallied hits in the loss as well.


Redfield Dairy Queen 25, Groton Locke Electric 7 (7 innings)

REDFIELD — Redfield collected 13 hits and drew 18 walks in a Northern Plains mercy-rule victory over Groton Sunday night.

Christain DeYoung and Nolan Gall paced the Redfield offense with nine RBIs, DeYoung batted 2-for-4 with a walk and five RBIs while Gall drove in four runs on three hits and a walk. Owen Osborn drove in three runs on one hit and three walks, Peyton Osborn and Camden Osborn each drove in two runs on one hit.

Brent Osborn batted 2-for-4 with two walks, a double and an RBI, Cooper Hainy added a double and four walks, along with one RBI, while Kole DeSpiegler tallied two hits, a double, and an RBI in the win as well.

Tom Gregg earned the victory on the mound in four innings pitched, issuing seven hits, three walks, and seven runs, striking out five.

For Groton, Chandler Larson took the loss allowing 10 runs on eight hits and eight walks in three innings on the mound.

Brian Hansen drove in three runs on a one hit, Ben Althoff drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, Alex Morris drove in a run on three hits and a double, and Carlos Camacho drove in a run in the loss as well.


Crofton Blue Jays (Neb.) 12, Irene Cardinals 3 (7 innings)

IRENE — Crofton exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to pull away from Irene for a South Central League victory Sunday.

Tyler Koch paced the Crofton offense with three hits, two doubles, and three RBIs. Zach Hegge drove in two runs on two hits, Roy Knapp drove in two runs on a double and a walk, Devin Hegge and James Kaiser each drove in a run on one hit, while Seth Wiebelhaus and Austin Tramp each tallied a hit in the win.

Ben Hegge earned the victory pitching seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks, striking out seven batters.

For Irene, Cole Edberg took the loss in 1.1 innings, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks.

Anthony De La Torre Guglielmana and Marcus VanDriel each drove in a run on two hits, while Dustin Livingston tallied two hits in the win as well.


Crofton Blue Jays (Neb.) 11, Irene Cardinals 1 (5 innings)

IRENE — Zach Hegge’s nine strikeouts limited Irene as Crofton earned a South Central League victory Sunday afternoon.

Hegge issued just one run on one hit and a walk in five innings to earn the victory on the mound for Crofton.

Colton Schieffer led the offense with a two-RBI double, while Austin Tramp and Andy Knapp each drove in one run on one hit, including a combined three walks. Devin Hegge, James Kaiser, and Trent Jansen each tallied hits in the win as well.

For Irene, Preston Gall took the loss in 3.1 innings pitched, giving up nine runs on five hits and three walks, striking out four.

Cole Edberg tallied the lone hit, while Anthony De La Torre Guglielmana drove in the lone run for Irene in the loss.


Larchwood Diamonds (Iowa) 12, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 2 (5 innings)

LARCHWOOD — Cody Groskruetz and Keaton Grevengood drove in seven runs on seven hits in a State Line League victory over Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Sunday afternoon.

Groskruetz batted a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBIs, including a double and homer, while Grevengood added three hits in four at-bats, including a homer and three RBIs.

Micah Linn and Chase Grotewald each drove in a run on two hits, including a triple by both Linn and Grotewald, while Mitch Peschon drove in a run on a hit-by-pitch for Larchwood in the win.

Brian Wede took the victory on the mound, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk in four innings pitched.

For LCW, Justin Underwood took the loss in three innings pitched, issuing five runs on five hits and one walk.

Mikey Kocer drove in two runs on a double, while Underwood and Camden Berdnt each tallied hits in the loss.


Brookings Cubs 15, Baltic River Dawgs 0 (6 innings)

BROOKINGS — Chase McDaniel drove in five runs as Brookings defeated Baltic in amateur baseball action Sunday night.

McDaniel batted 3-for-5 with a double and homer, driving in five runs in the victory. Zach Shastay drove in three runs on a 3-for-4 night, including a double, Rhett Zelinsky drove in a run on two hits, including a solo homer, Parker Winghart drove in two runs on a double, while Noel Burgos drove in two runs on a walk as well.

Tucker Wookey earned the victory on the mound for Brookings, issuing five hits and two walks in six shutout innings, striking out three batters.

For Baltic, Jon Wilhelmsen took the loss on the mound, allowing six hits, five walks, and 12 runs in 1.1 innings pitched.

Riley Schultz tallied two hits in the loss for Baltic.
