Groton Post 39 16, Post 911 Chargers 1

CLARK — Groton Post 39 racked up 14 hits to cruise past the Post 911 Chargers for a Legion baseball win on Saturday.

Bradin Althoff led Groton Post 39 with four hits and four RBI, while Pierce Kettering added three hits and two RBI. Dillon Abeln and Kaleb Hoover each had two RBI. Ryan Groeblinghoff added two hits.

Jackson Cogley led Groton Post 39 on the mound, pitching four innings and allowing one run on four hits, while striking out three.

Jake Isakson took the loss for the Post 911 Chargers, giving up eight runs on eight hits in three innings, while striking out three.

Tim DeSautel, Harris Adamson, Kaden Huyser, and Tate Connell each had one hit to lead the Post 911 Chargers. Connell also had one RBI.


Rapid City Post 320 Stars 3, Alexandria 2

MINNEAPOLIS — Jace Wetzler recorded three hits and drove in two runs to power Rapid City Post 320 to a Legion baseball win over Alexandria at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Mason Mehlhaff and Ryan Rufledt each had two hits, while Bryan Roselles added a hit. Hayden Leighty earned the win after allowing two hits, one unearned run, walked four batters and struck out four batters in a complete-game performance. 


Volga 2, Post 1 1

VOLGA — Volga held off Post 1 for a Legion baseball win on Saturday.

Parker Puetz took the win on the mound for Volga, giving up one run on three hits in seven innings and tallying 14 strikeouts and one walk.

Dylan Milton and Carson Christopherson led Volga two hits apiece. Christopherson and Puetz each had one home run.

Jake Jensen took the loss for Post 1, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings along with four strikeouts.

Jack Kratz led Post 1 with two hits in three at bats, while Charlie Ward added one hit and one RBI.


Chaska Post 57 9, Rapid City Post 320 Stars 4

MINNEAPOLIS — Chaska Post 57 scored six unanswered runs over the last four innings to secure a Legion baseball win over Rapid City Post 320 at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Ryan Rufledt finished 2 of 4, while Gavyn Dansby, Lane Darrow, Jett Wetzler, Jace Wetzler, Isaac Dike and Ben Dressler each had hits. Dressler hit a two-run homer. 


Harrisburg Tigers 3, Blaine/Lino Lakes Bengals 180 (Minn.) 0

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. — The Harrisburg Tigers earned a Legion baseball win over the Blaine/Lino Lakes Bengals (Minn.) at the Gopher Classic on Saturday.

Maddox Plack took the win for Harrisburg, allowing one hit and zero runs, while striking out six.

Lincoln Carlson and Noah Boschee each had one hit to lead the Tigers. Boschee, Maddux Scherer, and Palmer Boyd each drove in one run for the Tigers.


Harrisburg Tigers 5, Equitable Bank 2

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. — Tyman Long hammered a two-run homer in Harrisburg’s Legion baseball win over Equitable Bank (Neb.) at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Teigan Munce added two hits, while Lincoln Carlson, Palmer Boyd and Brandon Simunek each had a hit. Braxton Kusler earned the win after five strikeouts, one hit, zero runs and walked two batters in his 5.2-inning start. 


Groton Post 39 10, Faulkton/Highmore Hitmen 3

CLARK — Groton Post 39 raced past the Faulkton/Highmore Hitmen for a Legion baseball win on Saturday.

Dillon Abeln was on the mound for Groton Post 39, pitching six innings, while allowing nine hits and three runs with six strikeouts.

Cade Larson led Groton Post 39 at the plate, tallying three hits in three at bats, while Abeln had two hits and two RBI.

Layne Cotton took the loss for the Faulkton/Highmore Hitmen, allowing eight runs on five hits, while striking out eight in four innings.

Peyton McDonnell and Cade Schick each had two hits to lead the Faulkton/Highmore Hitmen, while Schick also had one RBI.


Faulkton/Highmore Hitmen 8, Post 911 Chargers 6

CLARK — The Faulkton/Highmore Hitmen scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a Legion baseball win over the Post 911 Chargers on Saturday.

Gunner Brueggeman led Faulkton/Highmore on the mound, allowing six runs on four hits, while striking out seven in four innings.

The Hitmen were led by Cade Schick with three hits and three RBI, while Layne Cotton had two hits and two RBI. Parker Geditz also had two hits and Bennett Cassens added one RBI.

Elijah Myers was on the hill for the Post 911 Chargers, allowing five runs on six hits, while striking out five and walking one in 3 ⅔ innings.

Myers and Tim DeSautel each had two hits to lead the Post 911 Chargers, while Myers also had two RBI.


Mitchell Post 18 12, Ashland Bluejays 6

MINNEAPOLIS — Mitchell erupted for seven runs in the seventh inning to secure a Legion win over Ashland, Nebraska, at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Mason Geraets led Mitchell with three hits and drove in four runs. Jace Larson recorded two hits and two RBIs. Dylan Soulek, Jonah Schmidt and Peyton Mandel each had a hit. Landon Waddell earned the win after striking out three batters, allowing three hits, two runs (one earned) and walked five batters in his five-inning start. 


Post 22 Expos 5, Renner Royals Post 307 4

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Post 22 Expos scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Renner Royals Post 307 in a Legion baseball game at the Gopher Classic on Saturday.

Jadon Moreno started for the Post 22 Expos, allowing six hits and four runs in 4 ⅓ innings, while striking out four and walking one.

Tate Crosswait led the Post 22 Expos with two hits in three at bats and one RBI, while Moreno had two RBI.

Emanuel Struck took the loss for the Renner Royals, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out five in five innings.

Trey Heckenlaible, Quinn Dunham, and Kyle Konechne each had two hits and one RBI to lead the Renner Royals.


Pierre Post 8 6, Omaha Westside (Neb.) 5

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — Pierre Post 8 held off Omaha Westside (Neb.) for a Legion baseball win at the Gopher Classic on Saturday.

Brecken Krueger was on the hill for Pierre Post 8, allowing seven hits and four runs along with two strikeouts and one walk in six innings.

Pierre Post 8 tallied 11 hits, with Lincoln Kienholz, Jett Zabel, and Jonny Lyons leading with two hits apiece. Lyons and Bennett Dean each drove in two runs. 


Maple Grove (Minn.) 6, Pierre Post 8 1

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — Maple Grove racked up 10 hits en route to a Legion baseball win over Pierre Post 8 at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Gary Nedved, Jace Merkwan and Brecken Krueger each had a hit for Pierre. Connor Bruce took the loss for Pierre. He lasted six innings, allowed 10 hits, six runs and struck out one batter. 


Post 15 East 5, Primetime 4 (8 innings)

MINNEAPOLIS — Cael Swanson hit a walk-off RBI sacrifice fly to lift Sioux Falls Post 15 to a Legion baseball win over Primetime (Neb.) at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Tate Schafer led Post 15 with two hits, while Myles Rees and Ethan Bruns each had a hit. Bruns and Tristan Fitzsimmons each drove in runs. Reagan Leininger struck out three batters, allowed two hits, two earned runs and walked four batters in his 2.2-inning start. Sawyer Tolk struck out seven batters, allowed six hits, two earned runs and walked one batter in 5.1 relief innings to earn the win.


Post 15 East 8, Wausau (Wis.) 7

MINNEAPOLIS — Sioux Falls Post 15 plated two runs in the top of the seventh to secure a Legion baseball win over Wausau (Wis.) at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Tristan Fitzsimmons led Post 15 with two hits, while Lincoln Vasgaard drove in three runs. Myles Rees, Ethan Bruns, Cael Swanson, Jack Smith and Dylan Rippentrop each had a hit. Jackson Boe allowed five hits, six runs, walked two batters and struck out two batters in his four-inning start. Jack Nesje earned the win after allowing one hit, one run, zero walks and struck out one batter in two relief innings. 


Post 307 Jr. Legion 8, Baltic Post 175 6

RENNER — Post 307 Jr. Legion held off Baltic Post 175 for a Legion baseball win on Saturday.

Peyton Tshetter led Post 307 on the mound, allowing three hits and four runs in 5 ⅓ innings, while striking out six.

Sullivan Schlimgen led Post 307 with three RBI.

Hunter Larson took the loss for Baltic Post 175, allowing six hits and eight runs in four innings, while striking out five.

Larson, Andrew VanDam, Cooper Goehring, Kyle Wentzel, and Kade Kremmer each had one hit to lead Baltic Post 175. VanDam, Wentzel, and Kremmer each drove in one run.  


Yankton Post 12 8, Fargo Post 400 Stars 2

HOPKINS, Minn. — Yankton Post 12 racked up 12 hits and picked up a Legion baseball win over Fargo Post 400 at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Drew Ryken and Joe Gokie led Yankton with three hits apiece, while Gokie drove in two runs. Cody Oswald added two hits, while Lucas Kampshoff, Dylan Prouty, Jace McCorkell and Josh Sheldon each had a hit. Gokie earned the win after striking out five batters, allowing six hits, two runs (one earned) and walking two batters in his complete-game performance. 


Senior Legion Railcats 7, Post 74 Bandits 3

ANOKA, Minn. — Senior Legion Railcats (Minn.) plated five runs in the seventh inning to secure a Legion baseball win over Brookings Post 74 at the Gopher Classic on Saturday. 

Breck Hirrschoff and Justin Cofell had two hits apiece, while Cofell drove in two runs Trey Svennes, Payton Theodosopolus and Austin Clark each had a hit. Lincoln Hardin struck out seven batters, allowed four hits, two runs and walked two batters in his six-inning start. 


Brandon Valley Post 131 10, Minneapolis Southwest Lakers (Minn.) 2

MANKATO, Minn. — Brandon Valley Post 131 raced past the Minneapolis Southwest Lakers (Minn.) for a Legion baseball win at the Gopher Classic on Saturday.

Jared Zerr led Post 131 on the hill, allowing five hits and one run, while striking out one in four innings.

Ayden Spicer led Post 131 with two hits in four at bats and two RBI, while Austin Reiter had three RBI, including one home run. Dawson Skorczewski added two RBI. 


Bennington (Neb.) 14, Brandon Valley Post 131 12

MANKATO, Minn. — Brandon Valley Post 131 dropped a Legion baseball game against Bennington (Neb.) at the Gopher Classic on Saturday.

Matt Brown took the loss for Post 131, allowing five hits and five runs in two innings, while striking out three and walking one. Aiden Zerr started the game for Post 131, pitching 2 ⅓ innings and allowing five hits and eight runs, while striking out two and walking one.

Post 131 tallied 11 hits, with Ayden Spicer, Sam Sejnoha, and Austin Reiter leading with two hits apiece. Dawson Skorczewski had three RBI, while Sejnoha added two RBI.
