Kimball/White Lake 13, Plankinton 5 

PLANKINTON — Kimball/White Lake tallied 13 hits and Zak Wallner struck out 12 batters in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Wallner allowed 12 hits, walked three batters and gave up zero earned runs on 140 pitches. He added two hits and two RBI at the plate. 

Offensively, Jaxon Christensen recorded four hits and three RBI. Caden Lenz posted three hits and three RBI. Trent Wookey, Dylanger Pierson, Wes Kroupa and Tanner Blasius added hits. 

For Plankinton, Cain Tobin, Hunter Pranger, Sean DeVries, Tom Stange and Carter Starr had two hits apiece. Griffin Tobin drove in a run, while Marcus Hill added a hit. Rylan DeVries struck out seven batters, allowed nine hits, seven runs (three earned) and walked four batters in his six-inning start. 


Alexandria 17, Mount Vernon 2 (7 innings)

MOUNT VERNON — Alexandria erupted for 17 hits and 17 runs in a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday. The Angels smacked four home runs. 

Jordan Gau, Tyson Gau, Erik DeJong and Jacob Giles each crushed home runs. Giles finished 4 of 4, drove in three runs and belted a solo homer. Jordan Gau had three hits and belted a grand slam in the seventh for the final margin. DeJong hammered a three-run homer, while Tyson Gau had two hits, drove in three runs and hit a two-run homer. 

Cole Wenande added three hits and two RBI. Michael Schoettmer had three hits and an RBI, while Reid Smith had a hit and an RBI. Jed Schmidt struck out eight batters, allowed five hits, three earned runs and walked four batters in his six-inning start for the win. 

For Mount Vernon, Spencer Neugebauer had two hits and an RBI. Eric Giblin had a solo home run, while Daniel Laufman, Deric Denning and Cameron Deinert added hits. Starter Luke Tiesler lasted 2.2 innings, allowed nine hits, 10 earned runs, walked two batters and struck out three batters.  

 

Winner/Colome 16, Corsica-Stickney 8

CORSICA — Winner/Colome piled up 17 hits en route to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Drew DeMers had three hits, two doubles and drove in four runs. Reed Harter and Zach Harter logged three hits and one RBI apiece. Austin Richey, Trevor Salmonson and A. Klein had two hits apiece. Salmonson and Klein drove in two runs apiece. Austin Calhoon blasted a grand slam. Ben Witt drove in two runs. Patrick Starr earned the win after allowing seven hits, four earned runs, two walks and struck out two batters in his 4.2-inning start. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Kiefer Johnson had three hits and two RBI. Luke Bamberg, Ryan Buck and Caleb Crist had two hits apiece. Gavin Zomer, Aaron Groeneweg, Kris Menning and Blake Moke had hits. Groeneweg allowed 15 hits, 14 earned runs, struck out seven batters and walked one batter in his 7.1-inning start.


Parkston Mudcats 5, Parkston Devil Rays 1

PARKSTON — The Parkston Mudcats scored four runs in the eighth inning to pick up a Sunshine League amateur baseball win over the Parkston Devil Rays on Thursday.

Jeff Harris, Cole Knippling, Billy Hamilton, Matt Malloy and Dylan Mogck each had hits. Malloy knocked in two runs, while Kaleb Weber and Luke Bormann each had RBIs. Jake Weber earned the win after seven strikeouts, four hits, one earned run and two walks in his eighth-inning start. 

For the Devil Rays, Jake Helleloid had two hits, while Brayden Jervik and Ty Neugebauer each had hits. Max Scott drove in the lone run. Neugebauer took the loss after allowing two hits, four earned runs, three walks and two strikeouts in 1.1 relief innings. 


Chamberlain 4, Four Corners 3

CHAMBERLAIN — Dakota Munger hammered a walk-off home run to lift Chamberlain to a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win over Four Corners on Thursday. 

Munger finished with three hits and two RBI. Riggs Priebe, Kyle Forester, Sandler Wiekamp and Chris Schwartz each had hits. Evan Steiner earned the win after eight strikeouts, four hits allowed, three runs (one earned) and one walk through 110 pitches.
