Colome Chaos 4, Burke Bombers 1

BURKE — Joey Cole struck out 12 batters in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Cole allowed one hit, five walks and zero earned runs on 145 pitches. Cole also had one hit and drove in a run at the plate. Jeff Ohlmann added three hits and drove in three runs. Carter Brickman, Ethan Vobr, Riley Orel, Eli Vobr, Jason Frasch and Cameron Biggins each had hits. 

Burke’s Hunter Van Niewenhuyse finished 1-for-3 for the team’s lone hit. Brogan Glover took the loss, allowing eight hits, two earned runs, three walks and struck out five batters in 6.2 innings. 


Plankinton Bankers 14, Winner Demons 4 (8 innings) 

PLANKINTON — Blaine Bohr homered and Drew Gerlach struck out eight batters as Plankinton picked up a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Bohr finished 2-for-4 and drove in three runs, including a two-run homer. Griffin Tobin had three hits and drove in a run. Devin Mehlhaff added two hits and two RBI. Gerlach, Cain Tobin, Thomas Stange, Teegan Schlimgen and Marcus Hill each had hits. Gerlach, Stange, Mehlhaff and Hill drove in two runs apiece. Gerlach allowed four hits, three earned runs and walked four batters in his 5.1-inning start for the win. 

For Winner, Kayleb Brozik finished 2-for-5 and drove in a run. Ethan Bartels, Aaron Gilchrist, Chris Bartels and Bryce Bohnet each had hits. Ethan Bartels drove in a run. Justin Hausmann took the loss, allowing six hits, five earned runs, four walks and struck out four batters in his three-inning start. 


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 8, Wessington Springs Owls 2

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — KWL’s six-run ninth inning propelled the Nationals to a Pony Hills League victory Sunday night.

Hudson Heath, Jonathan Lyons, Carter Lenz, and Trent Wookey drove in all eight RBIs to pace the KWL offense. Heath batted 2-for-4 with a walk and a homer driving in two runs, Lyons batted 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-RBI double to take the lead in the ninth, and Lenz batted 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs, and Wookey batted 3-for-6 with a double and an RBI in the win as well.

Caden Lenz earned the victory on the mound for KWL, throwing all nine innings, Lenz allowed four hits, one walk, and two unearned runs while striking out six.

For Wessington Springs, Terrek Butterfield took the loss in 3.2 innings, allowing three hits, two walks, and six unearned runs while striking out three.

Clay Olinger drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Drew Olinger and Trevor Kenobbie each tallied hits in the loss.


Salem Cubs 6, Flandreau Cardinals 5

SALEM — With the tying run on third Salem’s Isaac Anderson records two outs to slam the door on a comeback, earning the Cubs a Cornbelt League victory Sunday afternoon.

Anderson earned the victory on the mound for Flandreau, allowing two hits, a walk, and one unearned run over two innings of relief, while Luke Loudenburg pitched the first seven innings, giving up eight hits, a walk, and four runs.

Jacob VonBerge batted 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and a walk, Loudenburg added a hit, walk, and an RBI, and Kyle Tuschen batted 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk.

Jon Forster batted 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, while Hakeem Yatim and Cole Cheeseman each tallied hits in the win.

For Flandreau, Drew Weber took the loss in 6.1 innings, allowing five hits, three walks, and four runs while striking out five.

Rick Weber and Tim Huber drove in a combined three runs on two hits, while Jacob Patterson and Keith Cutler each tallied two hits.

Austin Koenig, Bret Severtson, Kellan Culbert, and Luke Gassman each tallied hits in the loss as well.


Wynot Expos (Neb.) 2, Crofton Blue Jays (Neb.) 1 (12 innings)

WYNOT — After 11 scoreless innings, Devin Lammers’ RBI-double in the 12th scored two runs to stun Crofton in South Central League action Sunday night.

Lammers batted 2-for-5 including the two-RBI double in the bottom of the 12th inning to earn the comeback victory.

Landon Wieseler, Jackson Sudbeck, and Nate Wieseler each tallied hits in the win, while Peyton Wieseler drew three walks as well.

Wieseler and Sudbeck each saw time on the mound for Wynot, Wieseler threw eight shutout innings, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out seven, and Sudbeck threw the final four frames, allowing two hits, two walks, and one earned run.

For Crofton, Capp Bengston and Zach Hegge combined for the loss on the hill, Bengston gave up just one hit and two walks over three innings, while Hegge allowed four hits, three walks, and two runs in the final 8.1 innings.

James Kaiser led the Crofton offense with two hits, including a 12th inning RBI-triple to take the lead in extra innings, while Austin Tramp, Devin Hegge, and Justin Potts each tallied hits in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 4, Colman Argali 2

COLMAN — Cam Quigley’s fifth inning RBI-single was the difference as the Gamecocks defeated Colman in Cornbelt League action Sunday evening.

Quigley batted 2-for-5 with two RBIs, Briggs Havlik went 3-for-4 with two doubles, while Joe Hanisch, Jonah Rechtenbaugh, and Loren Jacobsen each tallied hits for H/H in the win.

Carver Hultgren earned the victory on the mound, giving up three hits and two runs over four innings pitched, striking out two. Rechtenbaugh also saw time on the mound, throwing five shutout innings, giving up just two hits while striking out three batters.

For Colman, Ian Barker took the loss in five innings, allowing five hits, one walk, and four unearned runs.

Barker drove in one run on a solo homer, while Chris Burke added two hits, including a solo home run in the loss as well.


Alexandria Angels 14, Mitchell Aces 11

MITCHELL — Alexandria scored the final runs and rallied for an amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Alexandria’s Reid Smith, Reggie Slaba, Jacob Giles and Peyton Smith had two hits apiece. Pierce Smith, Giles, Peyton Smith and Tucker Kingsbury both drove in two runs for Alexandria, which trailed 11-7 entering the eighth inning. 

Landon Ruesink, Jerrod Zens, Reid Smith and Jackson Jarding each drove in runs. 

For Mitchell, Carter Miller, Peyton Mandel, Conor Mattke and Hudson Morgan had two hits apiece. Karter Sibson drove in two runs. Blake Brosz took the loss, allowing four hits, three earned runs, one walk and struck out one batter in two relief innings. 


Chamberlain Mallards 6, Four Corners 3

HAYES — Evan Steiner struck out 12 batters on the mound as Chamberlain defeated Four Corners in Pony Hills League action Sunday afternoon.

Steiner pitched eight innings, allowing 10 hits, three walks, and three earned runs while striking out 12 to earn the victory on the mound, while driving in a run on a walk in the win for Chamberlain.

Braydon Kreofsky tallied one hit and one walk, including a solo homer in the fifth inning. Ian Anderson, Mike Schwartz, Rayden Haak, and Scott Dourghty each tallied hits in the win, including three drawn walks by Schwartz.

For Four Corners, Jack Van Camp took the loss in a four inning effort, giving up one hit, seven walks, and three runs while striking out 10 batters.

Sam Hand paced the Four Corners offense with two hits, including a double and home run, driving in two runs, while Brad Hand and Peyton Zabel each tallied two hits in the loss.


Milbank Firechiefs 20, Castlewood Ravens 2 (7 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — Milbank piled on 17 hits, including four home runs to earn a mercy rule Eastern Dakota League victory Sunday afternoon.

Merik Junker paced the Milbank offense, batting 2-for-5 with an RBI double and a grand slam in the bottom of the first.

Dom Boerger drove in three runs on two walks and a home run, Taylor Boerger batted 3-for-5 with a walk, double, and homer that drove in three runs, Isaac Schulte drove in three runs on a home run, and Kaden Krause batted 2-for-6 with a double, triple, and two RBIs.

Mitch Quade, Kellen Hoeke, and Brady Krause each tallied two hits, while B Fleming and Tyler Krause each added hits in the win as well.

Taylor Boerger earned the victory on the mound, giving up six hits, two walks, and two runs while throwing all seven innings, striking out eight batters.

For Castlewood, Jacob Tvedt took the loss in a four inning effort, giving up nine hits, three walks, and 10 runs while striking out three.

Gus Steiger batted 3-for-4 with a double and solo home run, Kellan Benck batted 2-for-3 with a solo home run, and Kyler Tvedt added a hit in the loss as well.


Clark Traders 6, Volga Cormorants 1

CLARK — Brent Griffith launched a second-inning grand slam as Clark defeated Volga in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday evening.

Wesley Jones added two hits to lead Clark in hits, while Griffith, Peyton Garbers, Bryce Deslauriers, Jess Karber, and Andrew Magedanz each tallied a hit in the win, including Griffith’s grand slam.

Hudson Fuller earned the victory on the mound in a complete game outing, allowing five hits, one walk, and one earned run while striking out 13 batters.

For Volga, Damian Danzeisen took the loss in two innings pitched, allowing two hits, four walks, and five runs, striking out two.

Noah Puetz led the offense batting 3-for-4 with a solo home run, while Dylan Vosburg, Connor Gross, and Danzeisen each tallied hits in the loss.


Tea Steam 13, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 6

TEA — Seth Altwine collected three hits and three RBIs as Tea defeated LCW in non-league amateur baseball action Sunday afternoon.

Altwine batted 3-for-5 with two doubles and a two-run homer to go along with three RBIs.

Trevor Welch and Ben Loos each drove in two runs on one hit, including two walks by Welch, Dawson Portner and Logan Boom combined for five hits and two RBIs, and Nathan Babb and Troy Ljunggren each tallied one hit and one RBI in the win.

Isaac Toledo and Trey Heckenlaible combined for the victory on the mound, allowing nine hits, two walks and four earned runs while striking out 15 batters.

For LCW, three different pitchers saw time on the mound, with Zack Schrank throwing the most at five innings, giving up 11 hits, three walks, and nine runs while striking out five.

Mikey Kocer racked up three hits and an RBI, while Nick Zabel collected two hits.

Brett Duncan, Schrank, Justin Underwood, and Cody Thompson each tallied hits in the loss.


Elkton Snappers 17, Ramona Express 9

ELKTON — Aiden Erickson’s four-RBI day helped the Snappers defeat Ramona in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday.

Erickson batted just 1-for-4 on the day, but blasted a three-run homer in the fifth inning while Billy Stuefen and Eliot Erickson each recorded three hits combining for three RBIs.

Brady Steffen, Dylan Kuehl, Charles Harming, Steve Erickson, and Kellen Sattler each drove in one run on one hit, while Dylan Gillespie tallied a hit in the win as well.

Steve Erickson earned the victory on the mound, giving up eight hits, two walks, and four runs in five innings while striking out four.

For Ramona, Aaron Schlosser took the loss on the mound, allowing 13 hits, one walk, and 13 runs in seven innings, striking out six, while batting 3-for-6 with an RBI as well.

Logan DeRungs, Garret DeRungs, and Brady Miller each tallied two hits, while Addison Stewart drove in three runs on four walks.

Ryan Schlisner and Terrence Carroll each drove in two runs in the loss as well.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 13, Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 2 (7 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids took advantage of 16 walks and five Madison errors to earn a Cornbelt League victory Sunday night.

Dalton Lehnen drove in two runs on two hits, Trevor Freudenthal batted 1-for-4 with two walks and two RBIs, Spencer Freudenthal batted 2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI, Kole Zimmerman drove in one run on four walks, Carter Gullickson batted 1-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs, Ty Hoglund added a hit and a walk, and Dalton Allen drove in two runs on two walks for Dell Rapids as well

Lehnen earned the victory on the mound for Dell Rapids, allowing five hits, a walk, and one run in six innings, while striking out nine.

For Madison, Tyler Tappe took the loss in two innings pitched, allowing two hits, five walks, and four runs.

Logan Albee drove in one run on one hit, Peyton Wolf batted 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI, and six other batters tallied hits in the loss for Madison.


Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 19, Dell Rapids PBR 13

HUMBOLDT — In a game that saw a combined 32 hits and 32 runs, Humboldt/Hartford pulled away to earn a Cornbelt League marathon victory Sunday night.

Jearl Jesson, Andrew Zimmer, Nathan Adrian, and Gage Nelson paced the Wood Ducks offense with 13 combined RBIs, Jesson batted 3-for-4 with a walk, double, two home runs, and three RBIs, Zimmer batted 2-for-4 with two home runs that drove in three runs, Adrians batted 2-for-6 with four RBIs, and Nelson added two hits, a walk, and three more RBIs.

Chase Vessells drove in a run on two hits, Brodie Herr collected one hit and one RBI, while CJ DenBoer and Dominick Chandaswang each tallied two hits in the win.

Logan Larson earned the victory on the mound for H/H, allowing six hits, three walks, and five runs while striking out five in five innings.

For PBR, Grant Sweeter earned the loss in 4.2 innings, giving up 10 hits, three walks, and 10 runs.

Matt Gillogly led the Dell Rapids offense batting 4-for-5 with a three-run homer, driving in four runs overall in the loss. Zach Puetz batted 2-for-4 including a double and two RBIs, while Drew Sweeter, Riley Hoffman, and Chris Kropuenske each drove in one run on one hit in the loss.


Freeman Blacksox 10, Lesterville Broncs 1

FREEMAN — Trey Christensen’s complete game on the mound helped Freeman defeat South Central League-foe Lesterville Sunday night.

Christensen allowed 10 hits, one walk, and one run in nine innings while striking out three batters.

Bailey Sage led the offense batting 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Jackson Fiegen and Jake Weier each added two hits and one RBI, including two walks by Weier.

For Lesterville, Michael Drotzmann earned the loss in 4.1 innings, allowing seven hits, two walks, and seven runs while striking out five.

Ethan Wishon led the offense with three hits, including a double, while Tanner Van Driel and Garret Damico added two hits apiece. Derek Quame, Hunter Martin, and Dawson Bietz each tallied one hit in the loss.

Drotzmann drove in the only run of the game for the Broncs as well.


Yankton Tappers 12, Menno MadFrogs 1

MENNO — Will Rauch’s five-hit, five RBI day powered Yankton to an Amateur baseball victory over Menno Sunday night.

Rauch batted 5-for-6 with a double and two home runs, driving in five total runs in the win. Joe Gokie, Colin Zahrbock, and Rex Ryken each tallied three hits, combining for four RBIs as well.

Mac Ryken batted 1-for-5 with two RBIs, while Rugby Ryken added two hits in the win for the Tappers.

Mitch Gullickson earned the win on the mound, allowing three hits, six walks, and one run in five innings pitched, striking out eight batters.

For Menno, Jared Hegdahl took the loss in a seven inning effort, allowing 11 hits, one walk, and seven runs while striking out three.

Dylan Lehr led the Menno offense with two hits, including a double and an RBI, while Ajay Herrboldt, Brayden Sattler, and Kyle Munkvold each tallied hits in the loss.
