Parkston Mudcats 15, Salem 13

PARKSTON — The Parkston Mudcats pounded out 17 hits en route to an amateur baseball win on Friday at the Sunshine League vs. Cornbelt League Showdown. The teams combined for 36 hits. 

Jeff Harris finished 4 of 5, hit two doubles and drove in five runs. Braxton Wilhelm, Ryan McGinnis and Riley Weber had two hits apiece. Wilhelm drove in three runs. Sutton Hohn finished with three hits and drove in three runs, including a solo homer in the fourth inning. 

Luke Bormann, Cole Knippling, Patrick Harris and Dillon Stadlman each had hits. Jeff Harris, Parkston’s starter, lasted six innings, gave up 13 hits, nine earned runs, three walks and struck out six batters. 

For Salem, Kyle Tuschen went 4 of 5 and knocked in five runs, including a three-run homer. Tyler Cleveland added three hits, while Luke Loudenburg, Cole Cheeseman and Trevor Wilkinson had two hits apiece. Tyler Earls, Raygen Randall, Isaac Anderson, Avery Feterl, Peyton Cleveland and Bailey Mennis each had hits.
