Dimock/Emery Raptors 7, Mitchell Aces 5

MITCHELL — A four run ninth inning powered Dimock/Emery to a Sunshine League victory over Mitchell Tuesday.

Drew Kitchens led the effort with three RBIs on two hits, including a bases-clearing triple in the ninth inning, Josh Engquist drove in a run on a triple, Chase Arend had an RBI, while Bryce Smart and Sam Arend each tallied hits for the Raptors. Phil Johnson tossed three shutout innings of relief to earn the victory on the mound, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.

For Mitchell, Karter Sibson had three hits, a triple, and an RBI, Carter Miller tallied three hits, Conor Mattke added two RBIs on one hit, while Mason Herman tallied two hits and one RBI in the loss. Gavin Jones took the loss on the mound allowing four unearned runs on one hit and three walks in two innings of relief.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 6, Mount Vernon Mustangs 3

MOUNT VERNON — Derek Graesser struck out 10 batters as Winner/Colome defeated Mount Vernon in Sunshine League action Tuesday.

Graesser allowed just one hit and three walks in nine shutout innings, striking out 10 to earn the victory on the mound. Graesser added two RBIs on a homer and three walks as well. Austin Calhoon added two hits, Drew DeMers tallied two hits, a homer and an RBI, Reed Harter drove in a run on three hits, including two doubles, while Oscar Pravacek tallied an RBI on a walk in the win.

For Mount Vernon, Bradley Dean allowed six runs on seven hits and seven walks in six innings pitched, striking out three. Brady Albrecht drove in three runs on a homer in the loss as well.


Parkston Mudcats 4, Corsica Horned Frogs 3

PARKSTON — Braxton Wilhelm’s RBI single capped off a ninth inning comeback for the Parkston Mudcats over Corsica Tuesday.

Brady Nolz led the Mudcats with a two-run home run in the ninth inning, Luke Bormann drove in a run on one hit while Wilhelm tallied an RBI on one hit. Kaleb Weber tallied two hits in the win as well. Spencer Freudenthal took the victory on the mound in one inning of relief, allowing two hits while fanning two batters.

For Corsica, Blake Moke allowed one run on two hits in the save opportunity. Carter Wright tallied three hits, Gavin Zomer had two hits while Kyle Menning drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the loss.


Northville Merchants 11, Groton Locke Electric 5

NORTHVILLE — Chad Simes hit for the cycle as Northville defeated Groton in Northern Plains League amateur baseball action on Tuesday. 

Simes went 4-for-5, drove in four runs and hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning to complete the cycle. Greg Heyne and Max Waltman each had two hits. Kyle Stahl drove in two runs, while Ashton Remily, Niko Pezonella and Ethan Beyers each had hits. Remily earned the win, striking out three batters, allowing six hits, one earned run and walked two batters in six innings.

For Groton, Bradin Althoff, Ty Sieber and Cade Larson had two hits apiece. Ryan Groeblinghoff drove in two runs, while Larson and Sieber both drove in runs. Jonah Schmidt took the loss, allowing nine hits, eight earned runs, three walks and struck out five batters in four innings.


Harrisburg Woodies 12, Garretson Blue Jays 3

GARRETSON — Harrisburg pounded out 12 hits as the Woodies defeated Garretson during Tuesday’s amateur baseball action.

Kole Zimmerman collected two hits and three RBIs, Dalton Lehnen added two hits, a double and two RBIs, Maddux Scherer tallied three hits and a walk, Nathan Motl collected two hits, R Menssen added a double and two RBIs while Carson Drexler collected one hit and one RBI in the win. Aaron Labrie allowed two runs on five hits in five innings pitched, striking out seven batters while Lehnen totaled one run allowed on three hits and a walk in four innings, striking out eight.

For Garretson, Dustin Steckler allowed four runs on six hits in five innings pitched, striking out six batters. Steckler collected two hits, Sam Siegel drove in a run on two hits, including a solo shot, while Brady Bonte drove in a run on two hits as well.
