Dell Rapids Mudcats 1, Alexandria Angels 0 

HUMBOLDT — Grant Olson’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh gave the Dell Rapids Mudcats walk-off win over Alexandria on Sunday in the Cornbelt-Sunshine League tournament. 

Olson’s hit scored Travis Peters from third for the game’s only run.

 

4 Corners 12, Colome Chaos 5 

NEAR HAYES — 4 Corners opened the floodgates in the bottom of the fourth inning with six runs to cruise to a win Sunday afternoon. 

Carter Brickman took the loss for the Chaos, pitching two innings, giving up four runs on one hit. He walked four and struck out one. 

Jake Luse led Colome at the plate with three hits. 


Harrisburg 10, Baltic River Dawgs 4 

BALTIC — A five-run sixth inning lifted Harrisburg to a victory over Baltic on Sunday. 

Ken Longman took the loss for the River Dawgs, pitching 5⅓ innings, giving up seven runs on 10 hits. He struck out three. 

Ray Williams was 2 for 4 at the plate to lead Baltic.


Milbank Firechiefs 11, Clark Traders 0

CLARK — The Milbank Firechiefs raced past the Clark Traders for an Eastern Dakota League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Dom Boerger took the win for the Firechiefs, lasting seven innings and allowing zero runs on zero hits, while striking out 17 and walking one.

Brady Femling led the Firechiefs with two hits in four at bats.

Tyler Brinka took the loss for the Clark Traders, allowing six hits and eight runs in six innings, while striking out five.


Castlewood Ravens 8, Castlewood Monarchs 6

CASTLEWOOD — The Castlewood Ravens held off the Castlewood Monarchs in an Eastern Dakota League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Alex Gauer won the game for the Ravens, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five in six innings.

Tucker Wookey and Braxton Lacher each had two hits to lead the Ravens, while Ethan Benck drove in three runs. Nick Geffre had three stolen bases.

Kellen Benck took the loss for the Monarchs, allowing seven hits and seven runs, while striking out seven in 6 ⅓ innings.

The Monarchs were led by Benck and Dawson Schmidt with three hits apiece.


Plankinton Bankers 4, Wessington Springs Owls 3

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — The Plankinton Bankers outlasted the Wessington Springs Owls for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Josh Engquist took the win for the Bankers, allowing 13 hits and three runs in nine innings, while striking out 14 batters.

The Bankers totaled eight hits, with Alex Loes leading the way with three hits and two RBI’s. Chris Hill and Travis Gant each tallied two hits.

Parker Dejean took the loss for the Owls, giving up four runs on eight hits in 8 ⅓ innings, while striking out 11.

The Owls collected 13 hits, with Curtis Collins and Terrek Butterfield leading the way with three hits apiece. Trevor Kenobbie and Dalton Mogck each added two hits. 


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 13, South Central Storm 10

KIMBALL — The Kimball/White Nationals scored three runs in the eighth inning to break a 10-10 tie and win a Pony Hills League amateur baseball game on Sunday.

Caden Lenz earned the win for the Nationals, pitching 5 ⅓ innings and allowing three runs on ten hits, while striking out four. Bryan Zeman started the game for the Nationals, giving up seven runs on seven hits in 2 ⅔ innings.

Zeman also led the Nationals with two hits in five at bats. Lenz drove in three runs while Zeman and Eathen Gaulke drove in two runs apiece.

Cole Christopherson took the loss for the Storm, giving up eight runs on two hits, while striking out one in 3 ⅓ innings.

The Storm tallied 17 hits, led by Ben Witt and Jaden Frank with three hits apiece. Hunter Van Niewenhuyse, Christian Schweigert, and Rhoss Oliver each had two hits, while Oliver and Blake Hoffmann each drove in two RBI’s.


Lesterville 6, Yankton Trappers 3

YANKTON — Lesterville scored three runs in the ninth inning to pick up a South Central League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Michael Drotzman took the win for Lesterville, lasting nine innings and allowing eight hits and three runs, while striking out seven and walking one.

Lesterville was led by Marcus Van Driel with three hits in four at bats, while Ethan Wishon tallied two hits. Van Driel and Tyler Edler each drove in two runs.

Shane Miller took the loss for the Trappers, allowing three hits and three runs in one inning, while striking out two and walking one. Kieren Luellman started the game for the Trappers, giving up three runs on six hits in eight innings, while striking out nine.

Devin Gullickson and Rex Ryken each had two hits to lead the Trappers.


Lennox Only One 4, Parkston Mudcats 3 

HUMBOLDT — Lennox Only One scored one run in the seventh inning to sneak past the Parkston Mudcats for an amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Drew Sweeter picked up the win for the Lennox Only One, lasting seven innings and allowing three runs on nine hits and striking out eight.

Lennox Only One totaled 11 hits, with Walker Hultbren leading with three hits in four at bats. Sweeter and Chris Kropuenske each added two hits. Quincy Thuen led with two RBI’s.

Jake Weber took the loss for the Parkston Mudcats, allowing one run on two hits in ⅔ of an inning. Dillon Stadlman started the game for the Mudcats, allowing three runs on six hits, while striking out six in four innings.

The Mudcats tallied nine hits, including Landon Sudbeck, Spencer Freudenthal, and Jeff Harris collecting two hits apiece.
