Renner Royals 9, Aberdeen Smittys 5

ABERDEEN — Renner scored runs in six of seven innings to secure a Legion baseball win over Aberdeen on Friday. 

Kyle Konechne and Carter Petersen led the Royals with two hits apiece. Trey Heckenliable, Preston Konechne, Quinn Dunham and Wyatt Hermsen each had a hit. Preston Konechne drove in two runs. Tristin Van Wassenhove threw one scoreless relief inning to earn the win on the mound, allowing two hits and walking one batter. 

Aberdeen’s Drew Salfrank, Carter Dingman and E. Kjenstad had two hits apiece, while Salfrank drove in three runs. Casey Vining and Andrew Richardson each had a hit. Vining took the loss after allowing five hits, seven runs (six earned), walking four batters and struck out four batters in his four-inning start. 


Renner Royals 9, Aberdeen Smittys 6

ABERDEEN — The Renner Royals won Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Aberdeen Smittys on Friday.

Mav Jarding picked up the win for the Royals, allowing six hits and four runs, while striking out three and walking one in five innings.

Emanuel Struck and Kyle Konechne each had two hits to lead the Royals. Struck, Keegan Wenande, and Ian Scherbring each had two RBI.

Brock Martin took the loss for Aberdeen, lasting four innings and allowing six runs on five hits and striking out seven.

Drew Salfrank led Aberdeen with three hits in four at bats, while Casey Vining and Jaiden Smith each tallied two hits and two RBI.


Salem 4, Dakota Valley 2

HUMBOLDT — Salem scored three runs in the first inning and held off Dakota Valley for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Owen Alley took the victory for Salem, allowing two hits and two runs in six innings, while  striking out seven.

Jackson Grady led Salem with two hits in three at bats, while Raygen Randall drove in three runs.

Brayden Major pitched five innings for Dakota Valley, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out five in the loss.

Jaxon Hennies and Brendan Barnett each had one hit for Dakota Valley. Hennies also drove in one run.


Madison Post 25 12, Colton Post 206 4

COLTON — Madison Post 25 recorded five runs on the first inning and never looked back in a Legion baseball win over Colton Post 206 on Friday.

Lucas Johnson took the victory on the mound for Post 25, allowing four runs on seven hits in 5 ⅓ innings, while striking out eight.

Johnson, Mason Kennington, Joe Gors, and Calvin Kelsey each recorded two hits to lead Post 25. Johnson also drove in three runs, while Lucas Mork drove in two runs.

Aiden Heitkamp took the loss for Post 206, giving up seven runs on six hits in three innings, while striking out one and walking one.

Barret Althoff led Post 206 with three hits in four at bats, while Nathan Madison and Lawson Louiseu each had two hits. Madison also drove in two runs.


Volga 10, Canova Gang 2

CANOVA — Volga cruised past the Canova Gang for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Parker Puetz took the win for Volga, pitching seven innings and allowing two runs on four hits, while striking out 18 and walking one.

Volga recorded 14 hits in the game, with Damian Danzeisen tallying four hits in five at bats. Dylen Milton had three hits, while Puetz, Connor Gross, and Kyler Bezdichek added two hits apiece. Danzeisen and Milton had three RBI’s, while Puetz and Carson Christopherson each had two RBI.

Jack Neises led the Canova Gang on the mound in the loss, lasting five innings and allowing 12 hits and nine runs, while striking out five.

Neises, Griffin Clubb, Luke Koepsell, and Jackson Remmers each had one hit for Canova. Neises also drove in one run.


Parkston Post 194 9, Menno/Scotland Post 152 5

PARKSTON — Parkston Post 194 tallied five runs in the fifth inning to pull away from Menno/Scotland Post 152 for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Max Scott earned the win for Parkston, pitching 4 ⅔ innings and allowing three hits and five runs, while striking out 13.

Ty Neugebauer, Caleb Titze, Trey Sparks, Kaleb Weber, Adam Doering, and Kody Klumb each had one hit for Parkston. Scott, Neugebauer, and Doering each drove in runs.

Jacob Schott took the loss for Menno/Scotland, allowing two hits and five runs in two innings, while striking out five. Brayden Sattler started the game for Menno/Scotland, allowing four hits and four runs, while striking out one.

Ajay Herrboldt led Menno/Scotland with two hits in four at bats, while Austin Pillsbury drove in three runs.


Platte/Geddes White Caps 3, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica/Stickney Padres 2

CORSICA — The Platte/Geddes White Caps held off the Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica/Stickney Padres for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Dawson Hoffman was on the hill for Platte/Geddes, allowing five hits and two runs in six innings, while striking out 11.

Grayson Hanson led Platte/Geddes with two hits in four at bats and also drove in one run.

Brendan Wentland took the loss for the Padres, allowing three runs on seven hits in six innings, while striking out ten. 


Mitchell Post 18 10, Monarch (Colo.) 0 (5 innings) 

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Seth Muth and Dylan Soulek each drove in three runs to power Mitchell Post 18 to a Legion baseball win over Monarch (Colo.) on Friday.

Muth and Soulek finished with two hits apiece, while five other players recorded a hit for Mitchell. Jonah Schmidt, Jake Helleloid, Jace Larson, Peyton Mandel and Landon Waddell each had a hit. Schmidt drove in two runs and picked up the win on the mound. He struck out seven batters, allowed three hits, zero runs and walked four batters in his 4.2-inning start. 


Gallatin Valley (Mont.) 2, Mitchell Post 18 1 

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Mitchell Post 18 surrendered a seventh-inning run in a Legion baseball loss against Gallatin Valley (Mont.) on Friday. 

Brock Sparks led Mitchell with two hits, while Dylan Soulek and Jake Helleloid each had a hit. Peyton Schroder took the loss after allowing seven hits, two earned runs, two walks and struck out one in the complete-game outing. 


Pierre Post 8 12, Glendive Blue Devils (Mont.) 2 

MINOT, N.D. — Pierre Post 8 racked up 14 hits en route to a Legion baseball win over Glendive Blue Devils on Friday. 

George Stalley and Grayson Hunsley posted three hits apiece, while Stalley drove in two runs. Gary Nedved logged two hits, three RBI and belted a two-run homer. Bennett Dean logged two hits and an RBI. Matthew Hanson, Jett Zabel, Connor Bruce and Isaac Polak each had a hit. Zabel drove in two runs. Brecken Krueger allowed eight hits, two earned runs and walked one batter in his six-inning start to earn the win. 


Rapid City Post 320 6, 970 Sun Devils (Colo.) 3

OMAHA, Neb. — Rapid City Post 320 scored three runs in the seventh inning to help pick up a Legion baseball win over 970 Sun Devils (Colo.) on Friday. 

Gavyn Dansby led the Stars with three hits and two RBI. Lane Darrow, Ryan Rufledt, Bryan Roselles, James Furchner and Isaac Dike each had a hit. James Rogers picked up the win after scattering nine hits, allowing three runs (one earned) and struck out one batter in the complete-game performance. 


Gulls BBC (Utah) 3, Rapid City Post 320 2

OMAHA, Neb. — Rapid City Post 320 dropped a one-run Legion contest against Gulls BBC (Utah) on Friday. 

Gavyn Dansby and Bryan Roselles led the Stars with two hits apiece. Mason Mehlhaff, Lane Darrow, Ryan Rufledt and Jett Wetzler each had a hit. Noah Popken struck out six batters, allowed four hits, three earned runs and walked four batters in his five-inning start. 


Brooklawn (N.J.) 9, Rapid City Post 315 1

OMAHA, Neb. — Rapid City Post 315 dropped a Legion baseball game against Brooklawn (N.J.) on Friday.

Brady Bickett took the loss for Rapid City Post 315, allowing ten runs on 11 hits in five innings, while striking out one.

Bickett, Cody Pope, Cooper Morlang, Colton Morlang, and Kayden Jones each had one hit for Rapid City Post 315.


Laramie (Wyo.) 17, Rapid City Post 315 8

OMAHA, Neb. — Laramie (Wyo.) earned a Legion baseball win over Rapid City Post 315 on Friday.

For Rapid City Post 315, Spencer Johannesen was on the mound in the loss, allowing 11 runs on seven hits and striking out one.

Kade Walker, Cooper Morlang, and Kolton Moshier each collected two hits to lead Post 315. Walker led with four RBI’s, while Morlang added two RBI.


St. Michael Mikes (Minn.) 8, Harrisburg 7

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. — Harrisburg was dealt a narrow defeat in a Legion baseball game against the St. Michael Mikes on Friday.

Lucas Crichton took the loss for Harrisburg, pitching 2 ⅔ innings, allowing two hits and three runs, while striking out two and walking one.

Palmer Boyd led the Tigers with three hits in four at bats, while also driving in one run.


Post 911 Chargers 3, Baltic Post 175 0

SIOUX FALLS — The Post 911 Chargers earned a shutout win over Baltic Post 175 in Legion baseball action on Friday.

Caden Reitz picked up the win for the Post 911 Chargers, allowing three hits and zero runs in seven innings, while striking out eight and walking one. Reitz also led the Post 911 Chargers with three hits in three at bats.

Braxton Amendson was on the mound for Baltic Post 175, pitching six innings, allowing three runs on six hits, and striking out eight in the loss.
