Plankinton 9, Chamberlain 6

CHAMBERLAIN — Plankinton used two strong innings to pick up a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Sunday. The Banker scored five runs in the fourth inning and four more in the eighth inning.

Griffin Tobin led the Bankers with two hits and four RBI. Devin Mehlhaff and Marcus Hill had two hits apiece. Riley Ferry and Austin Hauge each had hits. Hauge drove in two runs. Thomas Stange earned the win after scattering five hits, allowing one run, five walks and striking out eight batters in his 6.1-inning start.

For Chamberlain, Dakota Munger logged three hits and drove in three runs. Ian Anderson and Adam Schroeder each had two hits. Matt Hilson, Evan Stiener, Riggs Priebe and Kyle Forester each had hits. Steiner took the loss after allowing three hits, two earned runs, seven walks and struck out five batters in his 3.1-inning start. 


Dimock-Emery 12, Alexandria 2 (8 innings)

EMERY — Dimock-Emery hammered four home runs en route to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win over Alexandria on Sunday.

Parker Bollinger, Drew Kitchens, Phil Johnson and Josh Engquist each belted homers for the Raptors, who had four 14 hits. Peyton Nash and Bollinger had three hits and drove in one run apiece. Johnson added two hits and three RBI. Sam Pischke, Gene Kitchens and Colton Plagmann each had hits. Jason Schmidt earned the win after allowing seven hits, two earned runs, one walk and two strikeouts in his four-inning start. Johnson struck out three batters, issued one walk and gave up zero hits in four relief innings.

For Alexandria, Tyson Gau had three of the team’s seven hits. Cole Wenande, Jordan Gau, Peyton Smith and Michael Schoettmer each had hits. Ethan Davis took the loss after allowing 10 hits, eight earned runs, zero walks and struck out two batters in his five-inning start. 


Mount Vernon 8, Parkston Devil Rays 5

PARKSTON — Brady Albrecht and Koby Larson belted home runs in Mount Vernon’s Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Albrecht finished 2 of 3 and hit a solo homer, while Larson went 3 of 5, drove in four runs and also hit a solo home run. Chase Hetland, Bradley Dean, Eric Giblin, Deric Denning and Cameron Deinert each had hits. Luke Tiesler struck out 10 batters, allowed 14 hits, five earned runs and issued one walk in the complete-game performance.

For the Devil Rays, Brayden Jervik finished with three hits and an RBI. Jonah Schmidt, T.J. Schmidt and Jake Helleloid each had two hits. Josh Polreis, Logan Heidinger, Ty Neugebauer and Jay Storm each had hits. Storm took the loss after allowing six hits, five earned runs, one walk and struck out five batters in his five-inning start. 


Winner/Colome 19, Parkston Mudcats 12

PARKSTON — Drew DeMers and Reed Harter had four hits apiece to power Winner/Colome to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

DeMers finished 4 of 6 and drove in five runs. Harter went 4 of 7 and knocked in four runs. Derek Graesser, Chandler Bakley, Trevor Salmonson and Ben Witt had two hits apiece. Bakley and Witt drove in two runs apiece. Dillon Lambley and Zach Harter had hits, while Harter drove in two runs. Graesser earned the win after six strikeouts, 13 hits allowed, four earned runs allowed and six walks in his seven-inning start.

For the Mudcats, Cole Knippling had three hits and drove in five runs, including a three-run homer. Kaleb Weber had four hits and drove in two runs. Jeff Harris added two hits, while Matt Malloy, Rick Weber, Nate Doering, Dylan Mogck, Sutton Hohn, Ryan McGinnis and Luke Bormann had hits. Braxton Wilhelm took the loss after giving up nine hits, 10 earned runs, four walks and struck out six batters in his 4.1-inning start. 


Kimball/White Lake 9, Wessington Springs 3

KIMBALL — Kimball/White Lake held off Wessington Springs for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Jaxon Christensen led Kimball/White Lake with four hits and two RBI. Trent Wookey and Eathen Gaulke had two hits and one RBI apiece. Caden Lenz and Jesse Kroupa had hits, while Kroupa drove in two runs. Winning pitcher Brian Zeman struck out five batters, allowed six hits, two earned runs and walked four batters in his seven-inning start. 

For Wessington Springs, Cade Mohling and Clay Olinger had two hits apiece. Tarek Butterfield, Landon Cleveland and Dalton Mogck added hits. Parker DeJean took the loss after allowing 11 hits, four earned runs, three walks and striking out 10 batters in his 6.2-inning start. 


Dell Rapids PBR 6, Canova 0

SALEM — Weston Hansen had three hits and Bruce Mogen threw a three-hit shutout for pace Dell Rapids PBR to a Cornbelt League amateur win on Sunday.

Hansen drove in two runs and smacked a solo homer in the fourth inning. Mogen struck out eight batters and issued zero walks. 

Riley Calhoon, Conner Spindler, Teagan Schlimgen, Tim Wilhelmsen and Trey Randel added hits.

For Canova, Garrett Gassman, Justin Miller and Trey Krier had hits. Derek Miller took the loss after allowing eight hits, three earned runs, two walks and struck out nine batters. 


Canova 16, Dell Rapids PBR 3

SALEM — Jared Miller and Cole Gassman accounted for three home runs as Canova picked up a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win on Sunday.

Miller smacked two home runs and drove in six runs, while Gassman hit a solo homer. Gassman earned the win after six strikeouts, three hits allowed, two earned runs and walked six batters in his three-inning start. Justin Miller, Garrett Gassman and Trey Krier had two hits apiece. Gassman and Krier drove in three runs apiece.

For PBR, Weston Hansen had three hits and drove in a run. Riley Calhoon, Connor Spindler, Bruce Mogen, Tanner Solberg, C.J. Smith and Trey Randel each had hits. Grant Sweeter took the loss after allowing 12 hits, 12 runs (six earned), four walks and struck out three batters in his six-inning start.
