Winner/Colome Pheasants 9, Dimock-Emery Raptors 1

WINNER — Winner/Colome racked up 13 hits and picked up a Sunshine League amateur baseball win over Dimock-Emery on Sunday. 

Chandler Bakley led the Pheasants with three hits and four RBI. Drew DeMers finished 3 of 5, while Derek Graesser, Reed Harter and Zach Harter logged two hits apiece. Austin Richey had a hit. Tarell Bauld picked up the win after scattering five hits, allowing one run, walking two batters and struck out one batter in his seven-inning start. 

Dimock-Emery’s Sam Pischke and Doug Sudbeck each logged two hits, while Sudbeck knocked in the lone run. Chase Arend added a hit. Phil Johnson surrendered 13 hits, nine runs (six earned), walked one batter and struck out one batter in his eight-inning start.

Parkston Mudcats 19, Corsica-Stickney Horned Frogs 13

PARKSTON — Parkston outlasted Corsica-Stickney in a Sunshine League amateur baseball slugfest on Sunday. 

The teams combined for 32 runs, 31 hits, 14 extra-base hits and six home runs. Parkston, which finished with 17 hits, was led by Nate Doering (6 of 6, solo home run). Jeff Harris finished 3 of 4 and drove in six runs. Dylan Mogck, Billy Hamilton and Dawson Semmler each had two hits. Semmler smacked a home run, while Hamilton drove in three runs. Landon Sudbeck and Justin Devine each had a hit.

Jake Weber struck out six batters, allowed 11 hits, 10 earned runs and walked two batters in his seven-inning start to earn the win. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Ryan Buck, Luke Bamberg, Aaron Groeneweg and Caleb Crist each hammered home runs. Groeneweg crushed a grand slam in the sixth inning. Buck finished 3 of 5 and drove in four runs. Crist, Kris Menning and Blake Moke each had two hits. Jordan Dirkes, Gavin Zomer and Nathan Blom each had a hit. 

Moke struck out four batters, allowed nine hits, 12 runs (10 earned runs) and walked four batters in his 4.1-inning start. 


Plankinton Bankers 13, Chamberlain Mallards 0 (7 innings)

PLANKINTON — Plankinton erupted for 17 hits and Josh Engquist struck out 13 batters in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win over Chamberlain on Sunday. 

Engquist finished with four hits and a solo home run, while he allowed seven hits, zero runs and zero walks on 92 pitches. 

Josh Geppert added three hits and an RBI. Cole Knippling, Chris Hill, Travis Gant and Trevor Boyd each had two hits. Alex Loes drove in three runs, while Kyle Bruinsma knocked in two runs. Boyd also had two RBI. 

Chamberlain’s Dakota Munger and Ian Anderson had two hits apiece. Evan Steiner, Mike Schwartz and Matt Hilson each had a hit. Adam Schroeder took the loss, allowing 13 runs on 17 hits and struck out three batters through six innings. 

 

Canova Gang 14, Dell Rapids PBR 9

CANOVA — Garrett Gassman led Canova en route to a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win over Dell Rapids PBR on Sunday.

Gassman finished 5 of 5 and drove in three runs. Kendall Gassman added three hits and two RBI, while Tim Gassman added two hits. 

Trey Krier earned the win after striking out 10 batters, allowing 10 hits, six runs (two earned) and walked one batter in his eight-inning start. 

PBR’s Teagan Schlimgen finished with a team-high four hits and drove in two runs. Riley Hoffman added three hits and two RBI, while Riley Calhoon and Andrew Barr both had two hits. Tim Wilhelmsen, Grant Sweeter and Beau Behrend each had a hit. Trey Randel allowed 12 hits, 11 runs (five earned), walked three batters and struck out four batters in his six-inning start. 


Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar 18, Miller/Wessington Outlaws 1 (6 innings)

MILLER — Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar erupted for seven first-inning runs and 11 sixth-inning runs to record a Northern Plains League amateur baseball win on Sunday. 

Aberdeen’s Ryan Ellingson, Kelly Coates and Aiden McCafferty had two hits apiece. Coates drove in three runs, while Ellington knocked in two runs. Michael Babcock and Tyler Newman each finished with three RBI. Tyler Oliver and Spencer Sudbeck each had a hit for Aberdeen, which had 13 hits. 

Miller/Wessington’s Kyle Johnson and Ryan Soler each had a hit. Garrett Knox took the loss, allowing four hits and seven runs, while striking out batter over one inning. 


Castlewood Ravens 11, Bryant Wild Hogs 4

BRYANT — Jaydon Cordell cracked two home runs and drove in four runs as the Castlewood Ravens defeated Bryant in an Eastern Dakota League amateur baseball win on Sunday. 

Bailey Neuhauser finished with three hits and two RBI. Cordell, Tommy Vener, Jared Urbach and Ethan Benck each had two hits. Zach Hirsch and Jacob Tisher each had a hit. Jared Urbach struck out six batters, allowed five hits, one run and walked one batter in his six-inning start to earn the win. 

Bryant’s Nic Arbach finished with four hits and two RBI. David Novak and Cody Swenson. Novak allowed 12 hits, 10 runs (nine earned), struck out seven batters and walked three batters in his seven-inning start. 

 

Freeman Blacksox 6, Crofton Bluejays (Neb.) 5

CROFTON, Neb. — Owen Feser powered Freeman to a South Central League amateur baseball win over Crofton, Neb., on Sunday. 

Feser finished 3 of 5, drove in five runs, hammered a grand slam and hit a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning. Blake Schroedermeier and Jackson Fiegen each had two hits. Bailey Sage, Ben Simonsen and Allen Scherschligt each had a hit. Fiegen earned the win after striking out seven batters, allowing three hits, walking one batter and zero runs in six relief innings. 

Crofton’s Lathan Maibaum and Seth Wiebelhaus each had two hits. Capp Bengston allowed seven hits, five earned runs, walked two batters and struck out two batters in his five-inning start.

 

Sioux Falls Hops 13, Brookings Cubs 7

BROOKINGS — The Sioux Falls Hops hammered five home runs en route to a Sunday amateur baseball win over Brookings. 

T.J. Miller crushed two home runs and drove in six runs. Alejandro Cortina, Sam Siegel and Charlie Dubanoski each belted home runs. Siegel finished 5 of 6 and drove in two runs, while Cortina had three hits. 

Bryce Ahrendt allowed 13 hits, seven runs (two earned), walked one batter and struck out eight batters to earn the complete-game win.

Brookings’ Sam McMacken crushed two home runs, had three hits and drove in five runs. Jackson Krogman added four hits. Tyler Kreutner took the loss for Brookings. He allowed eight hits, five runs over 4.2 innings, while he struck out two batters.
