Colman A’s 9, Salem Cubs 7

SALEM — A five-run seventh inning powered Colman to its first Cornbelt League victory this season over Salem Sunday.

Colt Hawkins led the A’s with two hits, including a homer, driving in four runs in the win, Chase DeWitt added three hits, a double and a homer, and three RBIs, Paul Clark drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Curt Hemmer drove in a run on one hit while Chris Burke batted 4-for-5 with two doubles in the win. Clark took the victory on the mound allowing just two runs on eight hits in five innings, striking out six.

For Salem, Tyler Earls took the loss allowing nine runs on 16 hits and two walks in nine innings pitched. Bobby Koepsell had three hits, one double, and an RBI, Cole Cheeseman collected two hits and two RBIs, Tyler Cleveland, Isaac Anderson and Luke Loundenburg each had two hits and an RBI, Owen Alley netted three hits, including two doubles, while Trevor Wilkinson had an RBI on a single and a walk in the loss.


Four Corners 8 Burke Bombers 7

HAYES — River Iverson’s walk-off single lifted Four Corners to a Pony Hills League victory over Burke Sunday.

Iverson batted 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, Jason Overweg added two hits and three RBIs, B Hand and Andrew McCloud each drove in a run on two hits, including a homer by Brad Hand, while Jack Van Camp and Jace Hand each tallied two hits in the win. Austin Hand took the win on the mound allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks in six innings pitched, striking out four.

For Burke, Hunter Van Niewenhuyse took the loss allowing eight runs on 14 hits and six walks in a complete game outing, striking out nine. Gannon Thomas drove in three runs on a homer, Dan Jons tallied three hits, a walk and two RBIs, Sawyer Tietgen tallied two RBIS on two hits, while Ben Witt added two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 4, Flandreau Blue Teal 3

DELL RAPIDS — Trey Randel’s 7.1 strong innings pushed Dell Rapids PBR to a Cornbelt League victory over Flandreau Sunday.

Randel allowed three unearned runs on nine hits and four walks, fanning five batters in the win. Weston Hansen and Riley Hoffman each drove in a run on two hits while Nate Nichols added two RBIs on two hits, one double in the win.

For Flandreau, Tristen Peters allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out six. Kelly Lewis, Kolby Peters and Micah Otto each drove in a run on one hit, including a triple from Peters, Sam Gassman had three hits while Mason Riley collected two hits in the loss.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 11, Alexandria Angels 1 (7 innings)

WINNER — Winner/Colome scored 11 unanswered runs as the Pheasants topped Alexandria in Sunshine League action Sunday.

Chandler Bakley led the offense for the Pheasants batting 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, Dillon Lambley added three his, doubles, and an RBI, Aiden Barfuss had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Derek Graesser drove in a run on a hit and a walk, while Oscar Pravacek and Isaiah Olson each drove in a run, combining for three walks in the win. Derek Graesser went six strong innings, allowing one run on six hits and six walks in six innings, striking out seven.

For Alexandria, Landon Ruesink allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in 3.2 innings, striking out three. Pierce Smith drove in a run on one hit and one walk while Jerrod Zens, Jordan Gau and Jacob Giles each tallied two hits in the loss.


Canova Gang 6, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 0

CANOVA — Kendall Gassman and Jackson Remmers threw a combined shutout on the mound as Canova took down the Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Gassman took the victory on the mound in his six inning start, allowing just one hit and one walk while recording eight strikeouts. Remmers tossed the final three innings, striking out one while allowing just one hit. Jason Miller led the Gang at the plate with two hits and two RBIs, Derek Miller and Tyler Genzlinger each drove in a run on one hit, while Garret Gassman and Kendall Gassman each drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For the Wood Ducks, Brayden Odegaard allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks in six innings pitched, striking out four. Jacob Ellens and Brodie Herr each tallied hits in the loss.


Elkton Snappers 14, Clark Traders 9

ELKTON — Owen Cass and Dylan Gillespie drove in a combined eight runs as Elkton defeated Clark in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday.

Cass drove in five runs on three hits, including a home run and a walk, while Gillespie tallied three hits, including a double and a homer, driving in three runs in the win. Charles Harming added two RBIs on three hits, Billy Stuefen had two hits, one double, and an RBI while Aiden Erickson collected one hit, one walk, and one RBI in the win. Gillespie earned the victory on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits in five innings, fanning eight batters.

For Clark, Jack Heesch took the loss allowing nine runs on 10 hits and three walks in 5.2 innings, striking out five. Zach Toben tallied three hits and three RBIs, Heesch collected three hits, one double, and an RBI, while Grayson Florey, Watson Grantham and Jakob Steen each tallied an RBI on one hit.


Milbank Firechiefs 17, Estelline Merchants 0 (6 innings)

ESTELLINE — Brady Krause tossed a one-hit shutout as Milbank defeated Estelline in mercy rule fashion Sunday.

Krause allowed just one hit and five walks in six shutout innings, striking out five. Dom Boerger drove in five runs on three hits and a walk, including a homer, Brady Krause added four RBIs on two hits, one triple, Taylor Boerger drove in a trio of runs on two hits and a walk, Tyler Krause tallied two hits and two walks, Carter Boerger had two RBIs on one hit, while Kaden Krause and Kellen Hoeke each had two hits, combining for three walks in the win.

For Estelline, Isaac Schulte took the loss, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits and four walks in three innings. Austin Suther tallied the only hit of the game for the Merchants.


Volga Cormorants 7, Ramona Express 4

RAMONA — Noah Puetz struck out nine batters as Volga outlasted Ramona in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday.

Puetz struck out nine batters in eight innings pitched for the Cormorants, allowing five runs on 11 hits and four walks. Puetz also batted 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, Randy Santema drove in a run on two hits, Cole Gross drove in two runs on one hit, Michael Larson added an RBI single, while Zane Hiller had three hits and Connor Gross added two hits in the win.

For Ramona, Ken Longman took the loss allowing seven runs on 14 hits and a walk in a complete game, striking out five. Aaron Schlosser and Brannon Bickett each drove in a run on two hits, including a homer by Bickett, Taylor Bult and Kadyn Gehrels each tallied a hit, walk, and an RBI, while Will Matson had two hits in the loss.


Tea Steam 3, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 1

LENNOX — Braxton Mulder tossed 11 strikeouts in Tea’s State Line League win over Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Sunday.

Mulder allowed just one run on five hits and three walks in six innings of work, striking out eight batters to earn the victory on the mound. Three of Tea’s four hits were home runs, including a solo homer from Cameron Jensen and two solo shots from Ben Loos. Loos totaled three hits in the win.

For LCW, Dylan Vosberg allowed three runs on three hits in seven innings pitched, striking out nine to take the loss. Brett Duncan drove in a run on one hit while Nick Zabel and Camden Berndt each tallied two hits in the loss.


Mount Vernon Mustangs 13, Mitchell Aces 2 (7 innings)

MITCHELL — Bradley Dean drove in four runs as Mount Vernon beat Mitchell in Sunshine League action Sunday.

Dean batted 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, totaling four RBIs in the win, Chase Hetland added three hits, a double, and an RBI, Spencer Nuegebauer drove in a pair of runs on a triple and a walk, Zach Baker added three RBIs on one hit while Eric Giblin drove in a run on a hit and a walk in the win. Kade Bialas earned the victory on the mound allowing two runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings of work.

For Mitchell, Ryland Devries allowed 10 runs on nine hits and six walks in 4.2 innings, striking out five. Carter Miller and Conor Mattke each tallied two hits while Karter Sibson drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Castlewood Ravens 3, Madison (Minn.) Mallards 1

ROSEN, MINN. — A three-run fifth inning powered Castlewood to an amateur baseball victory Sunday.

Gus Steiger broke the game open with a two-RBI double, Chris Lather had two hits while Kellen Benck tallied a double in the win. Nate Phinney took the win on the mound allowing two hits in four shutout innings, striking out three.


Wessington Springs Owls 9, Colome Chaos 6

COLOME — Wessington Springs scored four runs in the ninth to stun Colome in Pony Hills League action Sunday.

Mason Schelske, Camden Jost and B Larson each drove in a run on one hit, including doubles from Schelske and Jost, Dalton Mogck and Trevor Kenobbie each tallied two hits, while Cade Mohling and Tyson Lien combined for three RBIs in the win. Terrek Butterfield took the win on the mound allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out three.

For Colome, Joey Cole allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks in 4.2 innings, striking out five. Layton Thieman drove in three runs on a homer, Shea Connot added two hits, a triple, and an RBI, Eli Vobr tallied two hits while Ethan Vobr added two RBIs in the loss.


Crofton (Neb.) Bluejays 6, Menno MadFrogs 4

CROFTON — A five-run seventh inning powered Crofton to a South Central League victory Sunday.

James Kaiser, Jared Wiebelhaus and Wilson Munzke each drove in a run on one hit, Tyler Koch added an RBI on two hits while Colton Schieffer tallied three hits in the win. Capp Bengston went the distance on the mound, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk, striking out nine.

For Menno, Tom Sattler allowed six runs on 10 hits and two walks in seven innings of work, fanning three batters. Connor Merriam drove in two runs on a homer while Trent Guthmiller and Tyler Miller each drove in a run on a hit in the loss.


Yankton Lakers 11, Lesterville Broncs 2

YANKTON — Yankton exploded for nine runs in the first inning to beat Lesterville in South Central League action Sunday.

Mac Ryken batted 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI, Will Rauch added two hits, a double and a triple, and three RBIs, Josh Sheldon, Lucas Kampshoff and Colin Zahrbock each drove in a run on one hit, while Waylon McKnight drove in two runs on one hit in the win. Drew Ryken and Cade Sudbeck each tallied two hits and a walk as well. Kieren Luellman took the win on the mound, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks in seven innings, striking out five.

For Lesterville, Michael Drotzmann took the loss allowing 11 runs on 14 hits and three walks in seven innings pitched, striking out five. Ethan Wishon tallied three hits and a walk, including two doubles, while Karson Bierle and Derek Quame each tallied an RBI single in the loss.


Dimock/Emery Raptors 6, Corsica Horned Frogs 4

EMERY — Cole Knippling’s 4-RBI game lifted Dimock/Emery to a Sunshine League victory over Corsica Sunday.

Knippling batted 3-for-4 with a double, homer, walk, and four RBIs, Jason Schmidt drove in a run on one hit, Drew Kitchens added two hits while Landon Waddell netted a hit and an RBI in the win. Waddell earned the victory on the mound, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out 10.

For Corsica, Blake Moke allowed five runs on 10 hits and two walks in six innings, striking out six. Gavin Zomer and Reggie Slaba each drove in a run on one hit, Nathan Blom tallied two hits, one double, while Tyson Wentland and Jayce Slaba each tallied an RBI in the loss as well.


Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 12, Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 6

HUMBOLDT — Madison pounded out 15 hits as the Broncos defeated Hartford/Humboldt in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Trey Smith led the offense batting 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, Logan Allbee and Matt Burpee each tallied two hits and two RBIs, Tyler Tappe and Ty Jorgenson each drove in a run on one hit, while JD Kirchner drove in two runs on a double in the win. Kirchner also earned the victory on the mound, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks in a complete game outing, striking out 11 batters.

For HH, Cole Barthel took the loss allowing 10 runs on 11 hits and three walks in six innings, striking out two. Kyle Konechne drove in a run on two hits and a walk, including a solo home run, Joe Hanisch added two RBIs on a double, while Cam Quigley, Jonah Rechtenbaugh, Drew Maras and Tyler Migliante each tallied a hit in the loss.


Flandreau Cardinals 3, Dell Rapids Mudcats 0

FLANDREAU — The Flandreau Cardinals defeated the Dell Rapids Mudcats in Cornbelt League action Sunday.

Bret Severtson earned the win on the mound allowing three hits in three innings, striking out two. Brian McGuire and Beau Severtson each tallied two hits, Grant Hieb and JaColby Anderson each tallied an RBI while Noel Burgos and Luke Gassman each added a hit in the win.

For DR, Reece Arbogast took the loss allowing one unearned run on five hits in five innings, striking out two. Ty Hoglund, Austin Henry, Arbogast, Sutton Williams and Thomas Schuring each tallied a hit in the loss.


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 11, Winner Demons 1 (7 innings)

KIMBALL — Caleb Crist tossed 12 strikeouts in Kimball/White Lake’s mercy rule victory over Winner Sunday.

Crist allowed just one run on four hits in six innings, striking out 12 to take the win on the mound. Cooper Lieferman tallied two hits, a walk, and three RBIs, Crist and Caden Lenz each added two hits, Dylanger Pierson launched a solo home run, adding a hit and a walk as well, Jaxon Christensen tallied an RBI single while Wes Kroupa added two RBIs on one hit in the win.

For Winner, Kayleb Brozik allowed six runs on two hits and four walks in one inning. Brozik and Landon Calhoon each tallied a double, while Bill Foote drove in a run on two hits, including a double in the loss.


Wynot (Neb.) Expos 8, Freeman Blacksox 

FREEMAN — Wynot pounded out 14 hits as the Expos defeated Freeman in South Central League action Sunday.

Lee Heimes led the Expos batting 4-for-6 with a double and two RBIs, Landon Wiesler collected three hits, two doubles, and an RBI, Devon Lammers added two hits, including a double, Colin Wiesler, Jaelen Wiesler, and Dylan Heine each tallied RBIs on one hit, while David Schenk added two RBIs on one hit in the win. Payton Wiesler earned the victory on the mound allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings, striking out four.

For Freeman, Trey Ortman allowed six runs on nine hits and three walks in three innings, striking out one. Rocky Ammann had three hits, Colton Spader tallied two hits, one double, and an RBI, while Bailey Sage, Ortman, and Sam Gillespie each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.

 

Plankinton F&M Bankers 9, Chamberlain Mallards 3

PLANKINTON — Drew Gerlach struck out nine batters and the Plankinton Banker totaled 13 hits in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball victory on Sunday.

Gerlach allowed seven hits, three earned runs and three walks through seven innings. Gerlach added two hits and drove in a run. Hunter Pranger finished 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Devin Mehlhaff and Keagan Hill had two hits apiece, while Mehlhaff drove in a run. Kane Knudson knocked in two runs and Blaine Bohr drove in a run. 

For Chamberlain, Sawyer Donovan finished 2-for-4 at the plate and Cade Johnson drove in three runs. Timothy Travis, Mike Schwartz, Dylan Dominiak and Braydon Oldenkamp each had hits. Donovan struck out two batters, allowed 11 hits, nine earned runs and three walks through the first five innings.

 

Renner Monarchs 6, Harrisburg Woodies 3

RENNER — Tony Lanier drove in three runs as Renner handed Harrisburg its first loss of the season in Sioux Empire League action Sunday.

Lanier batted 2-for-3 with a walk, double, and homer to drive in three runs, Maddux Baggs tallied two hits, Adam Durfee drove in a run while Chaz Palmer and Mitch Stroh each tallied hits in the win. Jed Schmidt earned the victory on the mound in five shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out six.

For Harrisburg, Dalton Lehnen took the loss, surrendering four runs on five hits and a walk in four innings, striking out six. Jack Sutton drove in two runs on a double, Lehnen added an RBI on a hit and a walk while Nathan Motl tallied two hits, one double, in the loss as well.

 

Sioux Falls Brewers 6, Brandon Belugas 2

BRANDON — Evan Furst struck out 10 batters as the Brewers defeated Brandon in Sioux Empire League action Sunday.

Furst allowed just one run on four hits and three walks in seven innings of work, striking out 10 in the win. Drue Soukup hit a three-run homer while Andrew Langner and TJ Miller each hit solo home runs. Sam Baier added two hits in the win as well.

For Brandon, Jaxon Haase took the loss allowing four runs on three hits in two innings pitched. Dawson Mork drove in a run on one hit, Lake Terveer tallied two hits, while Joe Lund, Haase, and Cole Frisbie each tallied hits in the loss.
