Gayville-Volin 12, Castlewood 5
ABERDEEN — Three batters each tallied multi-hit games as Gayville Volin rolled over Castlewood during Thursday’s quarterfinal action. Gayville-Volin will take on Mobridge-Pollock at 4 p.m. Friday in the state semifinals.
Maia Achen led the Raiders driving in three runs on two hits, including a double, homer and a walk, Teresa Stockman added three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Paisley Dimmer collected two hits, a triple and a walk, while Kendra Beeck drove in two runs in the win. Ayla Dimmer earned the victory on the mound, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out three.
For Castlewood, Claire Horn took the loss surrendering 12 runs on nine hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out eight. Kayla Goens drove in three runs on one hit while Lucy Jacobsen tallied two hits in the loss. The Warriors will face Bon Homme at noon Friday in the consolation semifinals.

Deuel 9, Avon 2
ABERDEEN — Aubrey Lanners drove in four runs as Deuel took down Avon to kick off the 2025 Class B state tournament Friday. The Cardinals will play Alcester/Hudson Friday at 2 p.m. in the state semifinals.
Lanners tallied four RBIs on one hit, including a three-run home run. Tory Engebretson drove in two runs on one hit and two walks, Graclyn Nielsen added an RBI on one hit while Rylynn Streich collected two hits in the win. Katrina Hagberg took the victory on the mound allowing two runs on six hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out 16 batters.
For Avon, Macy Voigt allowed four runs on four hits and five walks in 4.2 innings, striking out seven. Rilyn Thury drove in a run on a triple while Jordyn Voigt, Pria Sessler and Rowan Brandt each collected one hit and one walk in the loss. The Pirates will face Florence/Henry at 10 a.m. Friday in the consolation semifinals.

Alcester-Hudson 11, Florence/Henry 3
ABERDEEN — Emma Moller struck out 14 batters as Alcester-Huson defeated Florence/Henry during Thursday’s quarterfinal action. The Cubs will take on Deuel in the state semifinals Friday at 2 p.m.
Moller allowed three unearned runs on four hits and a walk in seven innings pitched, striking out 14 batters. Moller also drove in four runs on two hits, including a home run. Jenna Manning drove in two runs on three hits, including a homer. Delta Pies added two hits, a walk and a solo homer, driving in one run, while Emma Solberg had two hits, a walk, double and an RBI in the win.
For Florence/Henry, Elizabeth Reiter took the loss, surrendering 11 runs on 11 hits and three walks in six innings, striking out two. Ashlynn Vavruska tallied three hits, one double, and an RBI, while Emma Caulfield tallied one hit, one walk and two RBIs in the loss. The Falcons will face Avon in the consolation semifinals at 10 a.m. Friday.

Mobridge-Pollock 17, Bon Homme 10
ABERDEEN — Mobridge-Pollock pounded out 17 hits as the Tigers defeated Bon Homme Thursday in the Class B quarterfinals. MP will face Gayville-Volin at 4 p.m. Friday in the state semifinals.
Sophia Overland and Michelle Merkel each drove in three runs on three hits, including two doubles and a walk by Merkel. Amber Vetch tallied a game-high four hits, including a triple and a walk, driving in three runs, Brooke Merkel collected three hits and two RBIs, Ava Wolff had two hits, a triple, a walk, and two RBIs, while Elsy Larsen netted two RBIs on one walk in the win. Grace Overland took the win, allowing 10 runs on 13 hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out five batters.
For BH, Kenadee Kozak allowed 17 runs on 17 hits and eight walks in seven innings, fanning three batters. Olivia Kaul drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, including a double. Neveah Myers added one hit and three RBIs, Taryn Crites had two hits, a double, and an RBI, while Reyna Alberts collected two hits and an RBI in the loss. Tarynn Tornsey drove in a run on one hit as well. The Cavaliers will face Castlewood at noon Friday in the consolation semifinals.
