Dell Rapids 8, Dakota Valley 0

ABERDEEN — Dell Rapids blanked Dakota Valley for third place at the Class A softball tournament on Saturday. 

Katie Kvigne logged 10 strikeouts and threw a five-hit shutout for the Quarriers in the win, while she collected three hits in four at-bats at the plate. She drove in three runs. Elly Olson, Emma Lanpher, Kayleigh Gillette, Ella Johnson and Addison Van’T Hof had two hits apiece. 

For Dakota Valley, Annie Bourne, Addie Dickson, Mia Riibe, Lexi Stusse and Madelyn Munch each had hits. 


Madison 2, Vermillion 1 

ABERDEEN — Madison clipped Vermillion for the Class A consolation championship on Saturday. 

Evie Lurz and Logan Prostrollo each drove in runs. Kelcie Dudley struck out 10 batters, allowed five hits, one earned run and zero walks. 

For Vermillion, Madigan Wallin had two hits and drove in a run. Mya Halverson struck out eight batters, allowed five hits, two earned runs and three walks in six innings. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 9, Sioux Valley 6

ABERDEEN — Molly Geary and Paige Jacobs tallied three hits apiece as Elk Point-Jefferson claimed seventh place at the Class A softball tournament on Saturday. 

Geary drove in three runs, while Jacobs and Cera Schmitz each knocked in two runs. Bailey Johnson had two hits and drove in a run. Laney Trometer had two hits. Regan Rasmussen struck out six batters, allowed eight hits, three earned runs and walked two batters in 4.1 innings.

For Sioux Valley, Amelia Jacobson finished with four hits and drove in two runs. Zoe Hemmestad had two hits. McKinley Schwab struck out four batters, allowed nine hits, eight earned runs and issued zero walks.
