June 7 State B Softball Roundup - Alcester-Hudson clips Mobridge-Pollock for third place

Alcester-Hudson 4, Mobridge-Pollock 1

ABERDEEN — Emma Moller struck out 11 batters as Alcester-Hudson captured third place at the Class B softball tournament on Saturday.

Moller allowed four hits, zero runs and zero walks on 88 pitches. She added two hits and drove in two runs. Delta Pies and Jenna Manning each drove in runs. 

For Mobridge-Pollock, Jacy Netterville had two hits and drove in a run. Sophia Overland and Brooke Merkel each had hits. Grace Overland struck out five batters, allowed six hits, three earned runs and zero walks. 


Florence-Henry 10, Castlewood 7 

ABERDEEN — Florence-Henry racked up 16 hits en route to a consolation championship finish at the Class B state tournament on Saturday.

The Falcons were paced by Ashlynn Vavruska and Grace Kahnke, who had three hits apiece. Vavruska drove in two runs. Kaylee Vavruska drove in three runs on two hits. Andie Rislov tallied two hits and two RBIs. Elizabeth Reiter struck out three batters, allowed 13 hits, seven earned runs and walked three batters.

For Castlewood, Kayla Goens tallied three hits and drove in two runs. Bridgette Horn, Natalie Akin and Morgan Wilson recorded two hits apiece. Horn drove in two runs. Claire Horn allowed 16 hits, nine earned runs, struck out four batters and walked one batter.


Bon Homme 15, Avon 14 

ABERDEEN — Tarynn Torsney’s walk-off single propelled Bon Homme to a seventh-place finish at the Class B softball tournament on Saturday. The teams combined for 29 runs and 33 hits. 

Torsney’s single scored Olivia Kaul, who led off the inning with a single, from third for the game-winning run. Torsney, Kaul and Taycee Ranek finished with three hits apiece, while Torsney drove in three runs. Ranek drove in two runs and smacked a home run. Taryn Crites added two hits and two RBIs. Kenadee Kozak allowed 19 hits, 13 earned runs, four walks and struck out three batters. 

For Avon, Macy Voigt and Rowan Brandt recorded four hits apiece. Brandt drove in four runs. Brielle Voigt finished with three hits and drove in two runs. Rilyn Thury and Abby Gretschmann.
