June 9 Legion Baseball Roundup - Parkston piles up 13 hits in win over MVPCS

Parkston 12, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney 7

PARKSTON — Nine players had a hit as Parkston picked up a Legion baseball win on Sunday. Parkston finished with 13 total hits. 

James Deckert finished 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Brayden Jervik had two hits and three RBI. Maddux Brissette had two hits and an RBI. Luke Bormann, Carter Sommer, Brayden Boettcher, Kolter Kramer, Kaden Holzbauer and Kash Neugebauer each had hits. Neugebauer hammered a two-run homer. 

Jervik got the win, striking out five batters, allowing seven hits, earned runs and walked two batters in 6.1 innings.

For MVPCS, Cain Tobin finished with two hits and an RBI. Taite Klumb, Daniel Laufman, Blaine Bohr, Isaiah Olson and Jarrett Olawsky had hits. Bohr drove in two runs. Tyson Wentland took the loss, allowing 11 hits, seven earned runs, one walk and struck out six batters in his five-inning start.


Belle Fourche 12, Buffalo Bulls (Wyo.) 7

BELLE FOURCHE — Nolan Wahlfeldt drove in four runs on three hits as Belle Fourche picked up a Legion baseball win on Sunday. 

Belle Fourche finished with 12 hits, with Aiden Voyles and Graham VanderBoom finishing with two hits apiece. 

Voyles earned the win, allowing six hits on five runs (four earned), striking out four batters through 4.1 innings. 


Redfield 8, Milbank 0 

MILBANK — Eli Morrissette struck out 12 batters as Redfield picked up a Legion baseball win on Sunday. 

Morrissette walked two batters and allowed two hits in his 5.2-inning start. Noah Johnson went 3-for-5 and threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. Johnson also had three hits. 

Micah Zastrow, Jackson Rude and Jackson Ethridge each had two hits apiece. 

For Milbank, Reece Rabe took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out nine batters and walking three batters through 3.2 innings. Mac Koplin and Tanner Hallquist each had hits. 


Spearfish 8, Douglas 3

SPEARFISH — Haylon Heiting and Will Scharf had two hits apiece as Spearfish earned a Legion baseball win on Sunday. 

Scharf drove three runs, while Heiting knocked in two runs. Jack Branum earned the win after throwing three scoreless relief innings, striking out three batters and allowing one hit. 

For Douglas, Caden Robertson finished 2-for-3. Malachy Lehnen took the loss, allowing eight hits, six earned runs, one walk and struck out two batters in his five-inning start.
