Lance Christensen notches first career top-25 finish

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Little Wound graduate Lance Christensen recorded his first career top-25 finish at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate golf tournament on Oct. 17-18. 

The New Mexico State University golfer shot a 217 (+4) to finish in a tie for 23rd place. Christensen shot 73, 71 and 73 during the three-round tournament at the New Mexico State University Golf Course. 


Christensen played as an individual and his score didn’t count toward the Aggies’ team score. New Mexico State won its home tournament by 20 shots over second-place finishers Seattle University and Weber State. 

New Mexico State’s Garrison Smith broke the school record for the lowest 54-hole score, carding a 15-under-par 198. NMSU’s Aidan Thomas 

The Aggies will head to Tulsa, Oklahoma, next week to compete in The Clerico, hosted by Oral Roberts University.
