BOULDER CANYON, Nev. — Little Wound High School graduate Lance Christensen Jr., is tied for eighth place after Day 2 of the NCAA Division II men's golf tournament. 

Christensen Jr., who golfs for Colorado Christian University, is 5-under par after two rounds. After his 69 on Monday, Christensen Jr., carded a 70 on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Club. His round on Tuesday was highlighted by a 32 on the back nine, including three birdies and one eagle. Christensen Jr., is five shots off the leader, Ian Pienaar of Columbus State University (Georgia). 

As a team, Colorado Christian University is in 10th place at 1-under par. Florida Southern (-18) is in the team lead. The tournament from Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, continues Wednesday. 

On Tuesday, Christensen Jr., earned all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference second-team honors. In his first year as a Cougar, Christensen Jr., has been stellar to help a new-look Cougars team make the NCAA National Championships for the third straight season.

He has earned six top-20 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the Sam Proal Insurance Invite in Pueblo. Through 11 tournaments Christensen Jr., has a scoring average of 73.0 as he continues to be a key piece to the team in his lone season at CCU.
