CANOVA — Madison’s eight-run second inning fueled a 10-2 Region 2B high school baseball win over Howard on Wednesday. Madison will play in the state tournament on May 29-30 in Sioux Falls. 

Madison’s Lucas Mork allowed seven hits, two runs and struck out 12 batters in the complete-game effort on the mound. Mason Kennington had a double and three RBIs, while Braxton Bjorkland and Jordan Pedersen each scored two runs.

Luke Koepsell and Colby Claussen each had scored runs for Howard, while Kade Shumaker and Claussen each picked up RBIs. Kolt Koepsell, Jack Neises and Griffin Clubb each had doubles.

Clubb allowed three hits, eight runs (three earned) and walked three batters through two innings. Luke Koepsell allowed four hits, two runs and struck out five batters in 5 1/3 relief innings.
