Wagner 36, Winner 33

MITCHELL — Top-seeded Wagner picked up a narrow victory over Winner in the Class A SoDak 16 on Thursday to qualify for their first state tournament appearance since 2009.

Wagner’s Shalayne Nagel scored a team-high 13 points, while Ashlyn Koupal scored 11 points in the win. 

Winner’s Bella Swedlund finished with a game-high 18 points.

Corsica-Stickney 60, Bridgewater-Emery 42

PARKSTON — Corsica-Stickney punched a ticket to their fourth straight Class B state tournament on Thursday with a win over Bridgewater-Emery in the Class B SoDak 16.

Corsica-Stickney’s Avery Broughton powered the win with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Casey Tolsma added 16 points, while Rachel Gerlach scored 11 points. Payton Delange recorded seven points and 11 rebounds. Morgan Clites posted five points and six assists. 

BE’s Julia Weber finished with 10 points, while Taylor Schallenkamp added eight points and nine rebounds. Cara Meyer logged seven points, while Morgan Uptagrafft and Oakley Weber had six points apiece. Casey Meyer finished with five points. 


West Central 54, Crow Creek 40

MADISON — Three West Central players reached double-figures as the Trojans punched their ticket to the Class A state tournament with a win on Thursday. 

Tabor Teel led the way with 17 points and nine rebounds. Addy Kramer finished with 15 points and Rylee Haldeman scored 10 points. She also scored her 1,000th career point in the win.  

Rozee Drapeau scored 14 points while adding seven rebounds. Audrey Drapeau scored seven points with Nateela Hislaw chipping in five. 

 

Lakota Tech 59, Flandreau 54

KADOKA — In its second year of existence, Lakota Tech is headed to the state tournament after outlasting Flandreau in the SoDak 16 on Thursday. 

Tawny Rodriguez led Lakota Tech with 19 points and six rebounds, while Tobi Carlow added 17 points, four assists and four steals. Jodene Hunter recorded 11 points. 

Claire Sheppard netted a game-high 24 points and added eight rebounds, while Maria Parsley collected a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. 

 

Dakota Valley 63, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 54

TEA — Dakota Valley held off Mount Vernon/Plankinton in the SoDak 16 for a Class A state girls basketball berth on Thursday.

Dakota Valley’s Grace Bass finished with 19 points, while Rylee Rosenquist added 15 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Jorja Van Den Hul logged 11 points, while Peyton Tritz and Brooke Carlson scored eight points apiece. Carlson grabbed five boards. 

MVP’s Emilee Fox finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Maria Baker added 11 points, while Reagan Rus and Kyia Schmidt scored eight points apiece. Shyla Tobin recorded six points and four rebounds, while Nyomi Mahrt had four points and five rebounds.


Hamlin 56, Belle Fourche 34

GETTYSBURG — Hamlin controlled the game throughout using double-figure scoring from two players to earn a SoDak 16 win Thursday. 

Kami Wadsworth led all scorers with 26 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Addison Neuendorf finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Hamlin improves to 21-2

Belle Fourche was led in scoring by Mataya Ward who finished with nine points. Dylan Stedillie contributed eight points. Grace Clooten finished with six points and a team leading five rebounds. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 53, Bison 24

IPSWICH — Top ranked Aberdeen Roncalli had three players reach double figures as the Cavaliers earned a So Dak 16 win Thursday. 

Madelyn Bragg led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while she also scored her 1,000th career point. Morgan Fieldler finished with 12 points while Olivia Hansen had 10 points and three assists. 

Bison was led in scoring by Abigayle Thompson who finished with nine points and six rebounds. Jayda Seim tallied seven points with Alexia Donovan chipping in four. 


Red Cloud 50, Florence-Henry 44

FT. PIERRE — The Red Cloud girls improved to 20-2 on the season while punching their ticket to the Class A state tournament with a win Thursday. 

Senior Stevi Fallis finished with a game-high 27 points. Allison Richards also reached double figures with 15 points. 

Florence Henry was led by Caylin Kelly who finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds and three steals. Trinity Watson had 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals for the Falcons. 


De Smet 57, Avon 44

HURON — De Smet punched their ticket to the Class B state tournament with a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Senior Kennadi Buchholz finished with 24 points while pulling down 14 rebounds. Jada Burke finished with 11 points while Alyssa Asleson and Emma Albrecht each scored nine. 

Avon finished the year at 14-9 with Courtney Sees scoring 14 points and Tiffany Pelton adding 13 points.

Aberdeen Christian 46, Centerville 35

MITCHELL — Aberdeen Christian topped Centerville and qualified for its first-ever state girls basketball tournament on Thursday. 

Aberdeen Christian’s Grace Kaiser finished with 13 points, while Mallory Miller scored 12 points and Joy Rohrbach added nine points.

Centerville's MaKayla Heesch scored 13 points to lead Centerville, while Thea Gust and Bailey Hansen had seven points apiece.

 

Sioux Falls Christian 60, Sisseton 37

VOLGA — No. 6 seed Sioux Falls Christian advanced to the Class A state tournament with a dominant win on Thursday. 

Kylah VanDonkersgoed led the way with 26 points while also pulling down 12 rebounds. Peyton Poppema and Ellie Lems each finished with nine points as the Chargers improved to 20-3.

Sisseton was led in scoring by Hanna Leverson and Krista Langager who each scored 13 points.


Viborg-Hurley 48, Castlewood 36

MADISON — Three players scored in double figures as Viborg-Hurley punched their ticket to the Class B state tournament with a girls basketball win over Castlewood in the SoDak 16 on Thursday.

Denae Mach led the Cougars with 18 points and five rebounds, while Coral Mason scored 17 points and five rebounds. Estelle Lee added 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Castlewood’s Madeline Horn scored 14 points and five rebounds, while Presley Knecht totaled nine points and seven rebounds. Gracie Haug added six points and Mackenzie Everson grabbed eight boards.
