Sioux Falls Washington 83, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 62

SIOUX FALLS — Led by double-figure scoring from three players the Sioux Falls Washington girls earned a win Friday. 

Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda had a monstrous outing pouring in 38 points and pulling down nine rebounds. Brooklyn Harpe added 13 points and eight rebounds. Taylor Thompson finished with 11 points as the Warriors advanced to next week’s Class AA state tournament. 

Kaela Martinez led Roosevelt with 21 points. Aubrey Baker added 14 points while Abigail Schuldt chipped in with 11 points. 


Brandon Valley 45, Spearfish 33

BRANDON — Brandon Valley advanced to next week’s Class AA state tournament with a girls basketball win Friday. 

Hilary Behrens led the Lynx with 16 points while Sidney Thue added 14 points. The Lynx had just 14 turnovers and improved to 17-4 on the season. 

Spearfished got 11 points from Stella Marcus and eight from Tayler Duncan. The Spartans end their season with an 8-13 record. 


Harrisburg 51, Huron 43

HURON — The Harrisburg girls pulled off one of Friday’s biggest upsets as the No. 11 Tigers defeated No. 6 Huron. 

Three players reached double figures for Harrisburg with Emille Boyer finishing with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Jaylee Hofer added 12 points while Hannah Eide added 11 points. 

Huron was led by Isabella Shreeve, Hamtyn Heinz and Isabelle Ellwein, all who scored nine points for the Tigers. 


Rapid City Central 56, Watertown 18

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Central opened the game on a 15-2 run and never looked back as the Cobblers picked up a girls basketball win Friday. 

Sadie Glade hit 4-of-5, 3-pointers and led the Cobblers with 18 points. Amarae Rinto and Aaliyah Jones each scored eight points for Rapid City Central. 

Watertown was led by freshman Emery Thury who tallied six points.
