Lennox 7, Dell Rapids 4

DELL RAPIDS — Mason Reischl struck out seven batters to power Lennox over Dell Rapids in Metro Super Regional action on Tuesday. Lennox will play in the Class B state baseball tournament on May 25-26 in Brookings.

Reischl powered the Orioles with six strong innings on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks, striking out seven in the win. Reischl also batted 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.

Talen Eich added two RBIs on a double for Lennox, Jaxson Bittner had three walks and an RBI while Gabe Veurink and Cole Spieler each tallied two hits in the win.

For DR, Gauge Bunkers took the loss in three innings of work, allowing five runs on four hits and two walks, striking out one.

Jackson Peppel and Carson Maeschen each had two hits and an RBI while Bunkers tallied an RBI-single in the loss.


Dell Rapids 7, McCook Central/Montrose 4

DELL RAPIDS — Owen Bollock tossed six strong innings as Dell Rapids earned a Metro Super Regional baseball win over McCook Central/Montrose on Tuesday.

Bollock tossed six innings, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks, striking out three in the win.

Drake Eastman, Gauge Bunkers, Carson Maeschen and Thomas LaVoy each drove in a run on one hit in the win for the Quarriers.

For MCM, Zane McCormick surrendered the loss allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in five innings, striking out five.

Dawson Dorr had two hits, a walk and an RBI, Parker Randall collected two hits and a walk, McCormick and Bennett Graff each had an RBI-single while Hayes Erickson tallied an RBI on a walk in the loss.


Lennox 13, Baltic 3 (6 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Lennox scored all 13 runs in the final two innings to surge past Baltic in Metro Super Regional baseball action on Tuesday.

Cole Spieler led the Orioles with three RBIs on two hits, a double, and a walk, Gabe Veurink added two hits, Sam Bambas drove in a run on two walks while Justin Butler and Grayden Veurink each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Spieler tossed 5.2 innings in the win, allowing three runs on three hits and seven walks, striking out six.

For Baltic, Laken Kortemeyer took the loss in four innings, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks, striking out one.

Isaac Oakley had two RBIs on one hit while Jackson Goehring added an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Vermillion 11, Bon Homme 1 (5 innings)

VERMILLION — Vermillion piled up 11 runs through two innings to secure a South Super Regional win on Tuesday. Vermillion will play in the Class B state baseball tournament on May 25-26 in Brookings. 

Trailing 1-0, Vermillion totaled five runs in the fourth and six runs in the fifth to pull away. Cale Cleveland finished 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Cooper Reiser and Matthew Roob each had two hits. Roob drove in two runs. Nolan Nygren earned the win, striking out seven batters, allowing three hits, one earned run and two walks in five innings. 

For BH, Major Aarstad finished 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in a run. Madden Merkwan and Ethan Wagner added hits. Isaiah Crownover took the loss, allowing seven hits, five earned runs and struck out five batters in four innings. 


Vermillion 10, Scotland/Menno 5

VERMILLION — Nolan Nygren drove in four runs on three hits as Vermillion defeated Scotland/Menno in South Super Regional action on Tuesday.

Nygren finished 3-for-4 and drove in four runs. Ryan Vitt had two hits and drove in a run. Cale Cleveland drove in a run. Vitt earned the win, striking out four batters, allowing four hits, two earned runs and two walks in three innings of work. 

For SM, Luke Bierle finished 3-for-4. Riley Keppen and Lane Pavel each had two hits. Pavel and Carson Pietz each drove in runs. Pavel took the loss, allowing one hit, two earned runs and walked two batters in one inning of work. 


Bon Homme 2, Parkston/Ethan 1

VERMILLION — Madden Merkwan struck out 13 batters as Bon Homme topped Parkston/Ethan in South Super Regional action on Tuesday.

Merkwan allowed three hits, one earned run and walked three batters in seven innings of work. He added a hit at the plate. Owen Bures had two hits and drove in a run. Carter Smith also drove in a run.

For PE, Jaxx Kurtenbach, Grady Bowar and Carson Bueber each had hits. Mason Jervik drove in the lone run. Bowar took the loss, allowing five hits, two earned runs, two walks and struck out three batters in six innings. 


Dakota Valley 8, Freeman/Canistota/Marion 1

FREEMAN — Sterling Schauff drove in four runs to power Dakota Valley to a South Super Regional victory on Tuesday. DV will play in the Class B state baseball tournament on May 25-26 in Brookings. 

Schauff finished 2-for-4, including two doubles. Grady Ramos struck out 11 batters, allowed six hits, zero earned runs and walked three batters in 5.2 innings for the win. Jake Pick and J. Wiese had two hits apiece. 

For FCM, Riley Tschetter, Tayden Kerrigan, Luke Peters, Riley Gall, Hunter Nankivel and Logun Pankratz each had hits. Tschetter took the loss, allowing three hits, four earned runs, six walks and struck out 10 batters in five innings. 


Freeman/Canistota/Marion 3, Canton 0

FREEMAN — Easton Tschetter fanned 11 batters in a three-hit shutout as Freeman/Canistota/Marion blanked Canton in South Super Regional action on Tuesday.

Tschetter allowed two walks on 106 pitches in the complete-game outing. Tschetter added a hit and scored a run. Tayden Kerrigan and Riley Gall added hits, while Gall drove in two runs. 

For Canton, Shane Sehr, Theo Meister and Landon Hill had hits. Kayden Chaulk took the loss, allowing three hits, three earned runs, five walks and struck out three batters in 5.1 innings. 


Dakota Valley 11, Beresford Area 0 (5 innings)

FREEMAN — Sterling Schauff struck out 10 batters in a three-hit shutout as Dakota Valley defeated Beresford Area in South Super Regional action on Tuesday.

Schauff walked three batters on 85 pitches through five innings. Schauff also smacked a two-run homer, and finished 2-for-2 at the plate. Jake Pick added two hits and drove in two runs. Noah Graham also drove in two runs on two hits. 

For Beresford, John Savey, Ashton Oberle and Ian Henderson had hits. Kasen Voss took the loss, allowing six hits, six earned runs and walked two batters in two innings.


West Central 5, Sioux Falls Christian/Sioux Falls Lutheran 2

HUMBOLDT — Beckett Everson struck out eight batters as West Central defeated Sioux Falls Christian/Sioux Falls Lutheran in Metro Super Regional action on Tuesday. West Central will play in the Class B state baseball tournament on May 25-26 in Brookings. 

Everson allowed four hits, two earned runs and walked two batters in six innings of work. CJ Den Boer had two hits and drove in a run. JT Steckley drove in two runs. 

For SFC/SFL, Tate Connell and Abbott Moeller each drove in runs. Jake Humpal had a triple. Peter Samp struck out six batters, allowed one hits, two earned runs and walked one batter in 3.2 innings of work. 


West Central 10, Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery 2

HUMBOLDT — Gunnar Alfson struck out 12 batters to power West Central to a Metro Super Regional win over Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery on Tuesday.

Alfson allowed three hits, zero earned runs and walked four batters through six innings of work. The Trojans totaled 13 hits, with CJ Den Boer, Beckett Everson, Alfson, Nick Lorang and JT Steckley recording two hits apiece. Everson and Steckley drove in two runs apiece. 

For HBE, Carson Kampshoff, Nate Wilber and Jackson Weber each had hits. Rhett Marek took the loss, allowing 12 hits, nine earned runs, three walks and struck out four batters in five innings.  


Sioux Falls Christian/Sioux Falls Lutheran 14, Tri-Valley 6

HUMBOLDT — Sioux Falls Christian/Sioux Falls Lutheran totaled 11 runs through two innings to secure a Metro Super Regional win on Tuesday.

Trailing 6-2, SFC/SFL scored seven runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth to surge past Tri-Valley. Harrison Nickles finished 4-for-4 and drove in four runs. Dylan Knecht totaled three hits and smacked a solo home run, while he also hit a double. Abbott Moeller added two RBIs. Maddux Munson earned the win, striking out 10 batters, walking seven, allowing one hit and one earned run in five innings. 

For TV, Jackson Williams, Treysen Richter, Mason Hemme and Cooper Durick each had hits. Richter and Brody Dybvig each drove in two runs.
