Sioux Falls Lincoln 6, Mitchell 1

SIOUX FALLS — A three run sixth inning helped Sioux Falls Lincoln secure the Class A high school baseball championship on Saturday.

Lincoln Vasgaard earned the win for the Patriots, pitching seven innings, striking out seven and allowing one run on three hits.

Mason Tolrud led Sioux Falls Lincoln with three hits in four at bats.

Landon Waddell took the loss for Mitchell, pitching four innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out one.

Jonah Schmidt, Brock Sparks, and Dylan Soulek each had one hit for Mitchell.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 7, Sioux Falls Washington 6

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Lincoln broke a 6-6 tie in the seventh inning to edge Sioux Falls Washington in a Class A semifinal high school baseball game on Saturday.

Sawyer Tolk picked up the win for the Patriots, allowing two hits and one run in four innings, while striking out five. Chase Houselog started for Sioux Falls Lincoln, pitching two innings and allowing five runs on five hits and striking out three.

Gavin Solomon led the Patriots with two hits in five at bats.

Andrew Glovich took the loss for Sioux Falls Washington, giving up zero runs on one hit in 1 ⅔ innings, while striking out one and walking one. Myles Rees started the game for the Warriors, allowing five hits and six runs in 4 ⅓ innings, while striking out five.

Rees, Bryce Ronken, and Patrick Osborn each had two hits to lead Sioux Falls Washington, while Rees also had three RBI’s. Ronken tallied three runs.


Mitchell 5, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 4

SIOUX FALLS — Mitchell held off a three run seventh inning by Sioux Falls Roosevelt to upset the top-seeded Rough Riders and earn a spot in the Class A high school baseball championship game on Saturday.

Jake Helleloid picked up the win for Mitchell, allowing two hits and three runs in six innings and struck out five. Jonah Schmidt and Dylan Soulek closed out the game in relief. Schmidt and Soulek also recorded two hits each to lead Mitchell.

Ben Irsfeld took the loss for the Rough Riders, allowing six hits and five runs in 6 ⅔ innings, while striking out nine.

Marcus Phillips and Brayden Byrum each recorded a hit for Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
