SIoux Falls Washington 7, Tea Area 1

SIOUX FALLS — Brekken Biteler tossed 16 strikeouts as Sioux Falls Washington took down Tea Area in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Biteler allowed just one run on two hits and a walk in seven innings of work, striking out 16 to take the win on the mound.

Kylar White led the Warriors offense with two hits and two RBIs, Easton Pearson and Biteler each drove in a run on one hit, Ian Glau had an RBI-walk while Tyler Ringheimer collected two hits and a walk in the win.

For Tea Area, Avery Hangman allowed seven runs on six hits and seven walks in 3.1 innings, striking out two.

Miles Jelen had an RBI-single in the loss.


SIoux Falls Washington 10, Tea Area 5

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Washington swept Tea Area in a high school baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.

Brekken Biteler and Kylar White each had two RBIs on one hit in the win while Caleb Bumann and Caden Sporrer each had an RBI on one hit in the win. Briar Rave took the win on the mound in 3.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk, striking out three.

For TA, Nate Hall allowed seven runs on three hits and five walks in 1.1 innings, striking out one.

Easton Foudray had two RBIs on a double while Tyson Gilbert added an RBI-single in the loss.


Sioux Falls Christian 11, Baltic 0 (5 innings)

BALTIC — Will Focht tossed seven strikeouts as Sioux Falls Christian blanked Baltic in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Focht allowed just two hits and a walk in four shutout innings, striking out seven in the win. Abbott Moeller drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Trey Pater added two hits, Jackson McCaulley had two RBIs on one hit while Hayden Gorsett collected an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Baltic, Brody Hansen allowed five runs on four hits and five walks in 2.1 innings, striking out one.

Laken Kortemeyer, Elias Oakley and Hansen each had a hit in the loss.


Vermillion 10, Parkston 1

VERMILLION — Nolan Nygren drove in three runs and pitched a complete game on the mound as Vermillion rolled to a high school baseball win over Parkston on Tuesday.

Nygren allowed just one run on two hits and two walks in seven innings of work, striking out three.  Nygren batted 2-for-3 with three RBIs as well for the Tanagers.

Emerson Jarchow had two RBIs on two hits, Cooper Reiser collected two hits and an RBI, Trey Hansen and Ryat Vitt each collected an RBI on one hit while Grant Roerig drove in a run on a walk in the win.

For Parkston, Grady Bowar allowed 10 runs on 12 hits and two walks in 5.2 innings, striking out one in the loss. Carson Bueber drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Belle Fourche 10, St. Thomas More 5

RAPID CITY — Belle Fourche exploded for 13 hits as the Broncs rolled past St. Thomas More in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Daven Kracht, Trig Thomsen and Urijah Hamilton each had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, including a homer from Thomsen, Caeyn Howard and Carsyn Hahne each had two RBIs on two hits, including a double and a homer from Howard and a triple by Hahne. Tate Thomsen and Graham VanderBoom each had an RBI on one hit in the win as well.

Howard pitched 4.1 innings in the win, allowing one run on six hits and two walks, striking out 10.

For STM, Rush Turner allowed eight runs on eight hits and four walks in five innings, striking out eight.

Ben Bowers drove in two runs on two hits, Joe Giacametto added two hits, a walk and a solo homer, Carter Kemp had two hits while Turner drove in two runs in the loss.


Clark Area 2, Groton Area 1

GROTON — Cooper Pommer pitched 4.1 shutout innings as Clark Area clipped Groton Area in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Pommer allowed just two hits and a walk in 4.1 innings, striking out four in the win.

Pommer also drove in the go-ahead runs on a single in the win.

For GA, Gavin Englund allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk in 6.1 innings, striking out four in the loss.

Nick Groeblinghoff had the long RBI on a hit in the loss.


O’Gorman 12, Brookings 7

BROOKINGS — Talec Schlimgen drove in five runs as O’Gorman took down Brookings in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Schlimgen batted 2-for-5 with a triple and five RBIs, Joey Laible had two hits, a triple, and three RBIs, Parker Scheidt tallied three hits, a double, and an RBI while Jack Canfield and Alex McKinney each had an RBI in the win.

Cooper Hermanson took the win on the mound in six innings of work, allowing five runs on five hits and a walk, striking out four.

For Brookings, Andrew Heinze allowed nine runs on eight hits and five walks, striking out two in four innings to take the loss.

Jase Bauer had two RBIs, Jay Harris and Noah Lease each tallied two hits and an RBI while Nolan Krogman had an RBI-double in the loss.


Brookings 4, O’Gorman 3

BROOKINGS — Jase Bauer drove in three runs as Brookings took down O’Gorman in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Bauer tallied three RBIs on one double in the win, Cooper Schneider had two hits and a walk while Jude Meendering had an RBI-walk in the win.

Nolan Wagner took the win on the mound in two shutout innings, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out four.

For OG, Parker Scheidt allowed four runs on seven hits and four walks in six innings pitched, striking out three.

Alex McKinney had three hits, a triple, walk, and an RBI, Talec Schlimgen added two hits and a walk while Sam Donohoe added an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Spearfish 11, Sturgis Brown 5

SPEARFISH — Spearfish pulled past Sturgis Brown in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Sean Sewell drove in three runs on two doubles and a walk in the win, Walker Viessman added two RBIs on two hits and two walks while Darin Crooks had an RBI-single in the win.

Sewell took the victory on the mound in 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and five walks, striking out three.

For Sturgis Brown, Tate Johnson allowed eight runs on two hits and six walks in four innings of work, striking out eight.

Kjell Sundstrom had three hits and an RBI, Jack Jolley drove in two runs on a double while Ethan Cermak and Bridger Massa-Battin each had two hits in the loss.


Mitchell 7, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 3

MITCHELL — Jaxson Hartman had four RBIs as Mitchell beat Sioux Falls Roosevelt in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Hartman drove in four runs on two doubles and a walk in the win, Carter McCormick, Kaiden Allen and Lincoln Bottum each had an RBI on one hit while Ian Weber collected two hits for the Kernels.

Jacob Ebert took the win on the mound in six innings of work, allowing three unearned runs on three hits and four walks, striking out seven.

For Roosevelt, Chris Logue allowed four runs on five hits and two walks, striking out one.

Jack Hille tallied three RBIs on a double while Lawsen Hensley collected two hits in the loss.


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 7, Mitchell 5 (8 innings)

MITCHELL — A two-run eighth-inning pushed Sioux Falls Roosevelt over Mitchell in the second game of a high school baseball doubleheader Tuesday.

Austin Cargin took the win on the mound in eight complete innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks, striking out six.

Carson Breidenbach, Karl Hartmann and Tiernan Daly each had an RBI on one hit while Tucker DeHaan and G Goebel each drove in a run in the win.

For Mitchell, Ian Weber allowed one run on two hits in 0.1 innings to take the loss.

Carter McCormick and Lincoln Bottum each had two hits, Kaiden Allen added an RBI on one hit while Bailor Kristensen tallied an RBI on a walk in the loss. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 4, Sioux Falls Lincoln 3

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Jefferson clipped Sioux Falls Lincoln in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Brody Jacobson had two hits and an RBI for the Cavaliers, Noah Kuenzi and Boston Bryant each had an RBI on one hit while Caleb Goodroad tallied an RBI on a walk in the win.

Jacobson took the win on the mound in one shutout inning, allowing one hit.

For Lincoln, Cooper Wasmund allowed one run on two walks to take the loss.

Jacksyn Raak drove in two runs on one hit, Colin Lunders had an RBI-double while Cooper Hicks collected two hits in the loss.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 3, Harrisburg 2

SIOUX FALLS — Kyler Boyd struck out 10 batters as Sioux Falls Jefferson beat Harrisburg in high school baseball action on Tuesday.

Boyd allowed two runs on eight hits in seven complete innings, striking out 10 in the win.

Noah Grabow, Caleb Goodroad and Easton Riley each had an RBI on one hit for the Cavs.

For Harrisburg, Andrew Dierks allowed three runs on five hits and three walks in 5.1 innings, striking out two.

Jaxson Roesler had two hits and an RBI, Griffen Schlapkohl added two hits while Nick Riley collected an RBi on a walk in the loss.
