Miller girls edge Chester Area to win Class B Classic

MITCHELL — Two Class B girls golf contenders battled it out at Monday’s Class B Classic. 

Miller edged Chester Area, 274-275, to earn the girls team title at Lakeview Golf Course. Last season, Chester Area finished second at the state tournament and Miller placed fourth. 

Chester Area’s Ayla McDonald (83) edged Miller’s Jayce Pugh (84) to secure the girls individual medalist honors on Monday. Burke’s Adisyn Indahl (90) and Clark/Willow Lake’s Brynn Roehrich (90) tied for third place. Chester Area’s Jaydn McDonald (91) rounded out the top-five individual standings. 

On the boys side, Sully Buttes’ Gavin Colson (72) was the boys individual medalist. Gregory’s Eli Fogel (76) and Lyman’s Cooper Long (77) placed second and third, respectively. Selby Area’s Tray Hettick (78), Colman-Egan’s Camden Schmidt (78) and Colman-Egan’s Taylor Kriech (78) tied for fourth place. 

On the team standings, Gregory won the boys title with a 242. Sully Buttes (245) and Colman-Egan (248) placed second and third, respectively.
