Mobridge-Pollock girls, Miller boys win Big Dakota Conference track and field titles

STEPHAN — The Mobridge-Pollock girls and Miller boys captured team titles at Tuesday’s Big Dakota Conference track and field meet. 

The Tigers racked up 209 points, finishing ahead of Chamberlain (168) and Miller (132). The Rustler recorded 164 points, edging Mobridge-Pollock (162). 

On the girls side, Mobridge-Pollock’s Ryli Thompson was a triple winner in the 100-meter dash (:12.8), 200-meter dash (:28.0) and 400-meter dash (1:05.2). 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Heidi Olson was a double winner in the 1,600-meter run (5:50.8) and 3,200-meter run (12:58.4).

Mobridge-Pollock’s Emily Hatzenbuhler was a double winner in the shot put (32-3) and discus (108-1). 

Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans won the 800-meter run (2:44.6) and placed second in the 1,600-meter run (6:01.7).

The Miller girls won the 400, 800 and sprint medley relays. 

The Miller boys picked up first place finishes from Kellan Hurd in the 400 meter dash (:55.4), Alex Schumacher in the 1,600 meter run (4:54.0) and Pierce Baumberger in the 3,200 meter run  (10:52.8). Freshman Isaak Hunter won the 110 meter hurdles (17.0).

The Rustlers won the 400 meter relay (:46.8) and the 800 meter relay (1:39.6) with Trevor Werdel winning the discus (132-11). 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Simon Fried won the 800 meter run (2:11.19) the 300 meter hurdles (:43.2), the long jump (18-11.5) and ran a leg on the winning 1,600 meter relay team (3:46.3). Mobridge-Pollock won the 3,200 meter relay (10:50.2) and the medley relay (4:21.4).
