North Central sweeps Yellowstone Trail Conference track titles

EUREKA — North Central swept team titles at Thursday's Yellowstone Trail Conference meet. 

The North Central boys finished with 270 points, finishing ahead of Herreid/Selby Area (126) and Potter County (126). The North Central girls logged 230 points, ahead of Potter County (188) and Herreid/Selby Area (165).

In boys action, North Central’s Timothy Rucker won the triple jump (38-5.5), 110-meter hurdles (:21.69), 300-meter hurdles (:49.83) and tied with McLaughlin’s Cassidy Demery for first in the high jump (5-6).  

North Central’s Kobe Wherry won the javelin throw (119-8) and pole vault (10-0). 

North Central’s Raynor Sprague won the 400-meter dash (:54.40). 

The North Central quartet of Aiden Goings, Kobe Wherry, Avery Wells and Drew Arbach won the 3,200-meter relay (9:46.34). 

Potter County’s Sean Seurer won the 100-meter dash (:11.71) and ran the lead legs on the winning 400-meter relay (:48.85), 800-meter relay (1:41.32) and sprint medley relay (4:03.92). 

Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter won the 1,600-meter run (4:57.91), 3,200-meter run (11:03.92) and ran the anchor leg on the winning sprint medley relay. The Battlers also won the 1,600-meter relay (4:14.45). 

Herreid/Selby Area’s Porter Gregg won the 200-meter dash (:25.31) and placed second in the 100-meter dash (:11.90). 

Herreid/Selby Area’s Nathan Schumacher won the shot put (39-7), finished second in the discus (112-6) and fourth in the javelin (109-4). 

Sully Buttes’ Kadyn Westergren won the discus (117-7) and placed second in the shot put (38-8.5). 

In girls action, North Central’s Kaidence Bulgin won the 100-meter hurdles (:16.78) and placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (:55.18). 

North Central’s Amree Vander Vorst earned a first-place finish in the javelin (91-1). 

North Central’s Peyton Schnabel won the pole vault (8-4). 

North Central’s Lindsey Geier won the triple jump (33-10). 

The North Central girls won the 400-meter relay (:55.69). 

Herreid/Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim won the long jump (16-5.75), 100-meter dash (:12.67) and 200-meter dash (:27.94). 

Potter County’s Jadyn Ahlemeier won the 800-meter run (2:43.60) and 1,600-meter run (6:07.32). Potter County’s Paige Ahlemeier won the 3,200-meter run (13:43.30). 

The Potter County girls won the 800-meter relay (2:01.83), 1,600-meter relay (4:27.45) and sprint medley relay (4:41.13).
