IPSWICH — Northwestern’s Elle Boekelheide and Lincoln Woodring captured the individual awards at the Lake Region Conference cross-country meet in Ipswich on Wednesday.

Boekelheide finished with a time of 19:03.87, ahead of second-place finisher Morgan Sumption (19:42.17) of Frederick Area. Ipswich’s Gracyn Kadlec (20:06.07) and Frederick Area’s Sofia Losure (20:20.45) placed third and fourth, while Ipswich’s Madisyn Gellhaus placed fifth with a time of 20:29.11.

In the team standings, Frederick Area took the title with a score of 17, ahead of Ipswich (23) and Northwestern (25), who placed second and third, respectively. Aberdeen Christian (31) and Warner (43) rounded out the top-five.

On the boys side, Woodring captured the title with a time of 16:46.96, while teammate Nathan Melius placed second with a time of 17:10.96. Frederick Area’s Johnathan Bretsch (17:28.00), Milo Sumption (17:42.12), and Winston Clark (17:48.40) placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

Northwestern won the boys team title with a score of 12, while Frederick Area (12), Ipswich (21), and Faulkton Area (38) rounded out the team standings.
