Rapid City Christian 3, Hill City 1

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian defeated Hill City in Region 8A volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 19-25, 25-9, 25-17 and 25-22.

Rapid City Christian’s Faith King finished with 16 kills, 18 assists, four aces and seven digs. Chloe Weber recorded 15 kills, one ace, 13 assists and seven digs. Paisley Griffith totaled four aces, five assists and 14 digs. May Callaghan had two aces and six digs. Maddie Altstiel recorded five kills and one ace. Maddie Kooiman had six digs, while Breklyn Hermanson had three kills. Miley Johnson added one kill and one block.

Hill City stats were not reported. 

Platte-Geddes 3, Mobridge-Pollock 2

MOBRIDGE — Platte-Geddes edged Mobridge-Pollock in a Region 6A five-set volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 20-25, 25-23, 25-21, 22-25 and 16-14.

Platte-Geddes’ Kori VanDerWerff erupted for 38 kills, 24 digs and two blocks. Taylor Shrank recorded 14 digs, 10 kills and two aces. Kolbi Hoffman added 47 assists, 14 digs and five kills. Mallory Gant posted 16 digs. 

For Mobridge-Pollock, Jayda Thompson and Hayleigh Schlomer recorded eight kills apiece. Blake Thompson posted three aces, six kills and 24 digs. Ellie Kemnitz had six aces. Tegan Konold recorded 32 digs and Avery Schlomer added 19 digs.

Wagner 3, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 2

WAGNER — Wagner outlasted Mount Vernon/Plankinton in a five-set thriller during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 24-26 and 15-3.

Wagner’s Hannah Holzbauer had 30 kills, 21 digs and three aces, Ravyn Medricky totaled 19 kills, 22 digs and one block, Mateya Brugier had seven kills and one block, Libby Kotab collected 25 digs, Braxton Nedved dished out 63 assists while Brylie Link tallied three aces in the win.

For MVP, Taryn Hegg had 10 kills, Madalynn Lorang dished out 27 assists, Layce Bruns had 19 assists while Ellie Holmberg had two aces in the loss.

Northwestern 3, Aberdeen Christian 0

MELLETTE — Northwestern swept Aberdeen Christian in Region 1B volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-20.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven finished with 15 kills, 10 digs and one ace. Breelyn Satter added seven kills. Taylor Vetter had six kills. Ella Boekelheide posted 33 assists and one block. Brenna Halvorson had two aces. Lila Johnson recorded 14 digs, while Tara Blachford had 10 digs and three assists.

For Aberdeen Christian, Jolie Fogarty and Sophie Johnson had nine kills apiece. Ari Johnson totaled three aces and six kills. Sawyer Schwan had 21 assists, 18 digs, three aces and two blocks. Payton Skarin had 17 digs. Ali Isakson posted two aces. 

Ipswich 3, Highmore-Harrold 0 

IPSWICH — Ipswich swept Highmore-Harrold in Region 6B volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-16, 25-11 and 25-18.

Ipswich’s Marley Guthmiller finished with 19 kills. Natalie Crissman added five kills and four aces. Jalyssa Hutson posted four kills and one block. Brianna Geditz had four aces and 16 digs. Josie Knutson posted 28 assists. Charli Rawden had 11 digs.

For HH, Jada Baloun recorded eight kills and one ace. Addison McDonnell posted five kills. Emma Ferens had a kill. Tenley McDonnell totaled six assists and 12 digs. Carly Stephenson had four assists and one ace. Lainee Ping added 13 digs. 

Burke 3, Gregory 0

BONESTEEL — Burke swept Gregory in Region 5B volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-12 and 25-12.

Burke’s Emmie Hausmann finished with nine kills, 13 digs and two aces. Brianna Davis and Daytona Paris had five kills apiece. Paris added two blocks. Davis added 14 digs. Kyrie Matucha had 14 digs. Katelynn Hagberg recorded three blocks. Emily Diekmann recorded two blocks. Emmy Spencer totaled three aces and 24 assists.

Gregory stats were not reported. 

Gayville-Volin 3, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 0

GAYVILLE — Gayville-Volin swept Tripp-Delmont/Armour in Region 4B volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-15, 25-16 and 28-26.

GV stats were not reported. 

TDA’s Mia Reiner recorded nine kills and 12 digs. Kinley Spaans added 15 assists and 11 digs. Sara Bertram totaled 15 digs and three kills. Ryenn Loneman had eight digs and three kills.

Dakota Valley 3, Elk Point-Jefferson 0

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley swept Elk Point-Jefferson in Region 4A volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-12 and 25-13. 

DV’s Claire Munch finished with 12 kills and seven digs. Samantha Kimball added 11 kills and 11 digs. Madie Munch posted 38 assists, three blocks and two aces. Coryn Kimball had 12 digs. Taylor Piel and Aubree Worden had seven kills apiece. Worden added five digs and Piel had three blocks. Skylar Anderson recorded six kills and two blocks. 

For EPJ, Paige Jacobs recorded four kills and four digs. Kate Hayes finished with three kills and four digs. Cera Schmitz finished with three kills and eight digs. Laney Trometer added 10 assists and seven digs. Molly Geary recorded five digs. Gracey Marx posted six digs.

Sioux Falls Christian 3, Lennox 0

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Christian swept Lennox in Region 4A volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-23 and 25-15.

SFC’s Jayla Overman tallied nine kills and four digs, Allyra Dorhout had nine kills, Tavyn Sichmeller totaled four kills, Meredith Nelson dished out 26 assists with 10 digs, Jasmine Vander Haar collected six digs while Aubrie Van Beek tallied eight digs in the win.

Lennox’s stats were not reported.

Hamlin 3, Sioux Valley 0

HAYTI — Hamlin swept Sioux Valley in Region 2A volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-23 and 25-10.

Hamlin’s Addie Neuendorf had 14 kills, 12 digs and two aces, Jade Thue totaled 10 kills, Addie Jensen had 10 kills and three blocks, Issie Steffensen dished out 39 assists with four aces, Jayci Trowbridge totaled 14 digs while Kayde Nebel and Maddy Jutting each tallied three blocks in the win as well.

Sioux Valley’s Aby Degen, Lacey Langland, Emma Gorvin and Maci Licht all had six kills, Langland and Gorvin each tallied five blocks as well, McKinley Schwab recorded 14 assists while Macheala Gerasch netted 13 assists and 11 digs. Talya Vincent and Liberty Trygstad each had 10 digs in the loss as well.

Brandon Valley 3, Huron 0 

HURON — Brandon Valley swept Huron in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-17.

BV’s Jayaunna Stroh finished with 13 kills, while Abby Gruber had 10 kills and two aces. Logan McGuire recorded 33 assists, 13 digs and two aces. Mya VanWesten totaled 13 digs and Riya Sheley had two blocks.
