Rapid City Stevens 13, Brookings 9

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Stevens stormed back from a five-run deficit to stun Brookings in high school baseball super regional action on Friday.

Tucker Waddell led the Raiders with four RBIs on two hits, including a double, homer and a walk, Karter Brager added three hits, a double, and four more RBIs, Brady Waddell drove in three runs on a double and a walk, Caidan Comparetto had two hits, Conor Konvalin had two hits, a walk, and an RBI, while Liam Unterbrunner drove in a run on a hit and a walk in the win.

Konvalin took the win on the mound in 1.1 innings, allowing one walk while striking out three.

For Brookings, Jude Meendering took the loss in 1.1 innings, allowing six runs on four hits and four walks, striking out one.

Jay Harris and Noah Lease each had two RBIs on two hits while Baker Hanson and Meendering each had an RBI on a hit in the loss.

 

McCook Central/Montrose 10, Parker 2

SALEM — McCook Central/Montrose exploded for 13 hits as MCM beat Parker in high school baseball action on Friday.

Connor Heiberger and Zane McCormick each had two hits and an RBI, Noah Durfee recorded two hits, a triple, a walk and three RBIs, Hayes Erickson had two hits while Bennett Graff, Ben Wiebersick and Burke McCormick each had an RBI in the win.

Erickson took the win on the mound in two shutout innings, allowing one walk while striking three.

For Parker, Colin Robertson took the loss in 2.2 innings, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks, striking out five.

Robertson drove in a run on a double in the loss.


Baltic 12, Garretson 1 (5 innings)

BALTIC — Isaac Oakley drove in four runs and tossed five no-hit innings as Baltic rolled past Garretson in high school baseball action on Friday.

Oakley tallied four RBIs on two hits, one double, while allowing just one run on eight walks in five innings, striking out three in the win.

Cale Roach drove in two runs on a double while Jackson Goehring and Bradyn Hansen each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Garretson, Caiden Maack allowed eight runs on six hits and two walks in 3.1 innings, striking out two in the loss.

Brecken Weir tallied an RBI-walk in the loss.


Harrisburg 5, Tea Area 1

HARRISBURG — Kade Wede tossed 17 strikeouts as Harrisburg took game one of a super regional matchup with Tea Area on Friday.

Wede allowed one unearned run on one hit and one walk in seven innings, striking out 17 in the win.

Gavin Weir drove in three runs on two hits, one homer, Jaxson Roesler added two hits while Collin Wright had an RBI-double in the win.

For TA, Bryson Prussman allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings, striking out seven in the loss.

Miles Jelen drove in the lone run in the loss for the Titans.


Harrisburg 7, Tea Area 1

HARRISBURG — Harrisburg rolled past Tea to sweep the best-of-3 super regional series in high school baseball action Friday. The Tigers will be the No. 1 seed in the Class A state tournament May 22-23.

Andrew Dierks took the win on the mound in six no-hit innings, allowing one unearned run on six walks, striking out six.

Collin Wright had two RBIs on a hit and a walk, Griffen Schlapkohl tallied two hits, Noah Rutten had two hits and an RBI while Gavin Weir and Dalton Wendling each tallied an RBI on one hit, including a solo homer by Weir in the win.

For TA, Ethan Knettel took the loss in 5.2 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out two.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 11, Spearfish 1 (5 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Kyler Boyd tossed five strong innings as Sioux Falls Jefferson topped Spearfish in super regional high school baseball action on Friday.

Boyd  allowed one run on five hits in five innings, striking out five in the win.

Easton Riley tallied three hits, a triple, and two RBIs, Boston Bryant added three RBIs on two doubles, Maddox Zens had two RBIs on one hit while Noah Kuenzi tallied two hits, a double, and two RBIs in the win.

For Spearfish, Sean Sewell allowed nine runs on eight hits and three walks in 3.1 innings, striking out one.

Walker Viessman had two hits while Bray Bowar added an RBI on a hit in the loss.


Brandon Valley 10, Sioux Falls Washington 0 (6 innings)

BRANDON — Caleb Severin tossed six shutout innings as Brandon Valley blanked Sioux Falls Washington in super regional high school baseball action on Friday.

Severin allowed just two hits and two walks in six shutout innings, striking out six in the win.

Bryton Stroh had three hits, a homer, a double, and two RBIs, Cooper Veld added three hits, two doubles, and three RBIs Brayden Knutson recorded two hits, a double and a walk, and two RBIs, Jack Blomgren hit a two-run homer while Mason Veld added an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

For Washington, Brekken Biteler took the loss in 0.1 innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks.

Biteler and Caleb Bumann each had a hit in the loss for the Warriors.


Yankton 16, Sturgis Brown 2 (5 innings)

YANKTON — Beck Ryken tossed five strong innings as Yankton ran past Sturgis Brown in super regional action on Friday.

Ryken allowed two runs on six hits and three walks in five innings, striking out four.

Christian Weier had three RBIs on two hits, Samuel Gokie, Easton Feser, Gavin Johnson and Carter Boomsma each drove in two runs on a hit and a combined seven walks, Jackson Kudera had two hits and a walk while Tate Beste had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For SB, Cael Pool took the loss, allowing seven runs on five hits and three walks in 1.1 innings, striking out one.

Ethan Cermak had two hits while Elijah Stroud and Tate Johnson each had an RBI on one hit in the loss.


O’Gorman 14, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 4 (6 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Sam Donohoe, Bennett Duncan and Alex McKinney drove in a combined 10 runs as O’Gorman ran past Sioux Falls Roosevelt in super regional high school baseball action on Friday.

Donohoe batted 2-for-3 with four RBIs, Duncan added three hits, a double, and three RBIs while McKinney batted 4-for-4 with three RBIs in the win. Paxton Sohn, Talec Schlimgen and Jack Canfield each had an RBI on a combined six walks while Parker Schiedt had an RBI on two hits as well.

Duncan took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing three runs on three hits and five walks, striking out nine in the win.

For Roosevelt, Nick Riedemann allowed seven runs on two hits and four walks in one inning, striking out two.

Lawsen Hensley, Carson Breidenbach and Tucker DeHaan each had an RBI on one hit, including a triple by Hensley and a homer by DeHaan in the loss.


Pierre 3, Mitchell 1

PIERRE — Carter Templeton tossed a complete game on the mound as Pierre clipped Mitchell in game one of a best-of-3 super regional in high school baseball action on Friday.

Templeton allowed just one run on four hits in an 85-pitch complete game, striking out six on the mound in the win.

Carter Schiefelbein had two RBIs on two hits while Porter Hunsley drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For Mitchell, J Ebert allowed three runs on four hits and one walk in six innings of work, striking out three.

Ian Weber drove in the lone run on one hit in the loss.


Watertown 9, Sioux Falls Lincoln 5

WATERTOWN — Watertown jumped out to a 9-0 lead to beat Sioux Falls Lincoln in game one of a best-of-3 series during Friday’s super regional high school baseball action.

Cole Hansen and Markus Pitkin each had two RBIs on one hit, including a double by Hansen and a two-run homer by Pitkin, Carter Buisker drove in a run on a walk while Sam Olson, Jackson McClemans, Ashton Rabine and Cain Everson each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Hunter Halajian took the win on the mound in 6.1 innings, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and two walks, striking out six.

For Lincoln, Carter Brady took the loss in five innings of work, allowing five runs on two hits and four walks, striking out two.

Colin Lunders drove in three runs on a homer while Cooper Hicks had two RBIs on two hits in the loss.
