Rapid City Stevens 7, Brookings 1

RAPID CITY — Brady Waddell struck out nine batters as Rapid City Stevens swept Brookings in game two of super regional action on Saturday. RC Stevens will play in the Class A state tournament May 22-23

Waddell allowed just one run on four hits and three walks in six innings, striking out nine in the win.

Bridger Mez drove in two runs on two doubles, Liam Unterbrunner had three hits and an RBI, Karter Brager and Trevor Schlosser each drove in a run on two hits while Tucker Waddell and Conor Konvalin each had an RBI in the win.

For Brookings, Noah Lease allowed seven runs on 12 hits and a walk in 6.1 innings, striking out three.

Jase Bauer had two hits and a walk while Ben Schulte collected an RBI on one hit in the loss.


Pierre 6, Mitchell 2

PIERRE — Will Danburg tallied six strong innings on the mound to power Pierre over Mitchell in game two of super regional action on Saturday. Pierre will play in the Class A state tournament May 22-23.

Danburg allowed two runs on four hits and two walks in six innings, striking out one in the win.

Parker O’Bryan drove in two runs on a walk, Tripp Lindekugel added an RBI on a walk while Porter Hunsley had an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

For Mitchell, Carter McCormick allowed four unearned runs on one hit and six walks, striking out seven in six innings.

Stratton Forst had the lone RBI in the loss for the Kernels.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 14, Spearfish 2 (6 innings)

SIOUX FALLS — Caleb Goodroach drove in five runs as Sioux Falls Jefferson swept Spearfish in super regional action on Saturday. Jefferson will play in the Class A state tournament May 22-23.

Goodroach had five RBIs on a double and a walk in the win, Noah Grabow added two RBIs on one hit, Boston Bryant had an RBI on two walks, Noah Kuenzi recorded two hits, a walk and an RBI, Brody Jacobson recorded three hits while Easton Riley and Maddox Zens each had an RBI on a hit and a walk in the win.

Everett Salonen took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing two runs on one hit and four walks, striking out six.

For Spearfish, Walker Viessman allowed eight runs on eight hits and two walks in five innings in the loss.

Bray Bowar had an RBI for the Spartans.


Watertown 6, Sioux Falls Lincoln 1

WATERTOWN — Jackson McClemans tossed 6.1 strong innings as Watertown swept Sioux Falls Lincoln in super regional action on Saturday. Watertown will play in the Class A state tournament May 22-23.

McClemans allowed just one run on nine hits and a walk in 6.1 innings, striking out six in the win.

Carter Buisker, Sam Olson, Ashton Rabine and Maxx Sears each had an RBI on a hit while Markus Pitkin had three hits in the win.

For Lincoln, Owen Lechtenberg took the loss in five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and five walks, striking out two.

Opland Sonnichsen had three hits and an RBI while Jude Timat and Jacksyn Raak each had two hits in the loss.


Brandon Valley 17, Sioux Falls Washington 3

BRANDON — Jack Blomgren drove in six runs as Brandon Valley swept Sioux Falls Washington in super regional action on Saturday. Brandon Valley will play in the Class A state tournament May 22-23.

Blomgren batted 3-for-5 with a homer and six RBIs, Grady Gindorff added two hits, a homer and a walk, with four RBIs, Mason Veld had two hits, a homer and a walk with two RBIs, Bryce Plucker tallied two RBIs on a homer and a walk, Brayden Knutson and Caleb Severin each drove in a run on one hit while Bryton Stroh recorded two hits and two walks in the win.

Taylor Melby took the win on the mound in five innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks, striking out 10 in the win.

For Washington, Tyler Ringheimer allowed six runs on seven hits in two innings, striking out one in the loss.

Easton Pearson had two hits and an RBI while Kylar White drove in two runs on a homer and a walk in the loss.


O’Gorman 10, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 1

SIOUX FALLS — O’Gorman dominated in game two to sweep Sioux Falls Roosevelt in super regional action on Saturday. O’Gorman will play in the Class A state tournament May 22-23.

Alex McKinney had three RBIs on two hits and a walk, Bennett Duncan added two RBIs on two hits, a double, and a walk, Joey Laible tallied two RBIs on a double, Gavin Hammrich had an RBI on two hits and a walk, Paxton Sohn drew an RBI-walk while Sam Donohoe had an RBI on a double and a walk in the win.

Landon Nohrenberg took the win on the mound in four innings, allowing one run on four hits and four walks, striking out five.

For Roosevelt, Dylan Kreich allowed six runs on six hits and five walks in five innings of work, striking out four.

Austin Cargin had two hits while Lawsen Hensley tallied an RBI-single in the loss.


Yankton 16, Sturgis Brown 0 (5 innings)

YANKTON — Yankton exploded for 12 hits and 10 walks to sweep Sturgis Brown in super regional action on Saturday. Yankton will play in the Class A state tournament May 22-23.

Simon Kampshoff had three hits, a double, and two RBIs for the Bucks, Jackson Kudera added three RBIs on two hits, Liam Villanueva tallied two RBIs on two hits, a double and a walk, Easton Feser had two RBIs on a triple and two walks, Beck Ryken had an RBI on two doubles and a walk, Samuel Gokie totaled an RBI on a double and a walk while Tate Beste and Carter Boomsma each had an RBI on a combined three walks in the win.

Gokie took the win on the mound in four shutout innings, allowing three hits while striking out four.

For SB, Brody Royer allowed eight runs on seven hits and five walks in 2.1 innings in the loss.

Bridger Massa-Battin, Elijah Stroud, Ethan Cermak and Jack Jolley each tallied hits in the loss for SB.
