Rapid City Christian 3, Hot Springs 2

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian outlasted Hot Springs in a five-set Region 8A volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-21, 12-25, 25-15, 16-25 and 15-5. 

RCC’s Chloe Weber recorded 10 kills, four assists, 15 digs, and five aces, Maddie Altstiel tallied nine kills, five digs, two blocks and two aces, Jayden Gray had four aces, Paisley Griffith dished out 20 assists and 12 digs, while May Callaghan had 24 digs in the win.

Hot Springs’ stats were not reported.

Rapid City Christian will play Hill City on Nov. 7. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Tiospa Zina 0

TULARE — Class B No. 3 Hitchcock-Tulare eliminated Tiospa Zina during Region 1B playoff action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-1, 25-9.

HT’s Katelyn Schroeder had 11 kills and 12 digs, Lila Johnson tallied 16 assists and seven aces, Rebecca Huizenga tallied two kills, Isabel Gilbert had six aces, while Cora Hofer had two blocks in the win.

Tiospa Zina’s stats were not reported.

Hitchcock-Tulare will face Northwestern on Nov. 7.


Chester Area 3, Canistota 0

CHESTER — Class B No. 1 Chester Area defeated Canistota during Region 3B playoffs Tuesday. The set scores were 25-16, 25-6, and 25-11.

Lily Van Hal tallied 12 kills and 15 assists, Emmerson Eppard had eight kills, Jacy Wolf tallied eight kills and three aces, Lexi Bauman recorded 10 assists and three aces, while Gracie Huntimer had 17 digs in the win.

Canistota’s Ember Schenkel recorded four kills and 11 digs, Emma Sandmann had five kills and a block, Bailey Spicer recorded nine assists and an ace, while Clara Remacle and Ellie Becker each had six digs in the loss.

Chester Area will face Sioux Falls Lutheran on Nov. 7.


Sioux Falls Lutheran 3, Ethan 2

CHESTER — Sioux Falls Lutheran pulled out a five-set victory over Ethan during Tuesday’s Region 3B volleyball playoffs. The set scores were 27-25, 22-25, 25-18, 18-25, and 15-13.

Sioux Falls Lutheran’s stats were not reported.

Ethan’s Taziah Hawkins had 10 kills, 22 digs, and four aces, Rachel Weisz had 10 digs and three aces, while Anna Castillo had 11 digs in the win. Marissa Storm tallied 11 kills, eight aces, 31 assists, and 11 digs, and Rachel Klock tallied 10 kills and four blocks as well.

Sioux Falls Lutheran faces Chester Area on Nov. 7.

Avon 3, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 1

BURKE — Avon topped Andes Central/Dakota Christian in Region 5B volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 20-25, 25-20, 25-15 and 25-17.

Avon’s Rilyn Thury posted one block, 18 kills and 12 digs. Lila Vanderlei had 14 kills and 10 digs. Brielle Voigt posted 15 digs and 33 assists. Lexi Vanderlei had 13 digs and two aces. Kaeli Wallinga had two blocks. 

For ACDC, Josie Brouwer logged 14 kills, two assists and nine digs. Halle Olson added10 kills, nine digs and one block. Kami Ronfeldt posted six kills, two blocks and one dig. Madeline Derry had 26 assists and eight digs. Syri Never Misses A Shot posted 21 digs. Madilyn Janis had six digs and two blocks. 

Avon will play Burke on Nov. 7. 


Northwestern 3, Langford Area 0

MELLETTE — A big night from Elle Boekelheide helped Class B No. 5 Northwestern to a Region 1B win over Langford Area. The set scores were 25-14, 25-12 and 25-8. 

Boekelheide powered Northwestern with 32 assists, three aces and 11 digs. Ashley Haven finished with 18 kills, eight digs, four assisted blocks and one solo block. Breelyn Satter each had six kills for Northwestern. Tara Blachford added 10 digs and Sophia Troske chipped in with three aces. 

Alex Darling led Langford Area with an ace and 12 digs. Emily Olson finished with a team-leading four kills and Paytyn Marlow had 12 digs. 

Northwestern plays Hitchcock-Tulare on Nov. 7.


Colman-Egan 3, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 0

COLMAN — Colman-Egan eliminated Sanborn Central-Woonsocket during Region 3B action Tuesday night. The set scores were 25-16, 25-17, and 25-16.

Brynlee Landis had 16 kills, five digs, an ace and a block, Kaylee Voelker tallied 13 assists, five kills, eight digs, and two blocks, Finley Luze recorded nine assists, five kills, and two blocks, Presley Luze had 11 digs, while Elaina Rhode had five digs and three blocks in the win.

SCW’s Liz Boschee had six kills and three blocks, Kenzie Schley had nine assists and five digs, Kali Hofer tallied nine assists and four digs, Addison Bartholow had 14 digs and four kills, Kaylie Robinson recorded nine digs and five kills, while Alexa Goertz had five digs and three kills in the loss.

Colman-Egan will face Bridgewater-Emery on Nov. 7


Freeman 3, Menno 2

MENNO — Freeman defeated Menno in a five-set thriller during Tuesday’s Region 4B playoffs. The set scores were 25-23, 22-25, 20-25, 25-15, and 15-12.

Rylee Peters recorded 17 kills and 29 digs, Vaida Ammann had 29 digs, 26 assists, and six kills, Emily Mendel tallied 40 digs, 13 kills, and two aces, Korie Ortman had 15 digs, Sam Fransen tallied nine assists, seven digs, and an ace, while Cadence Hofer recorded six kills and three blocks in the win.

Menno’s Haylee Hall tallied 51 digs, nine kills, and two aces, Taylor Freier had 41 kills and two aces, Joslynn Fischer had 17 assists, Nora Robb tallied 13 assists and three aces, while Amanda Rames recorded eight blocks and seven kills in the loss.

Freeman faces Parkston on Nov. 7.


Ipswich 3, Sully Buttes 1

IPSWICH — Ipswich defeated Sully Buttes in four sets during Tuesday’s Region 6B playoff action. The set scores were 25-12, 21-25, 25-18, and 25-12.

Ipswich’s Marley Guthmiller had 18 kills and three blocks, Kaylin Onken tallied six kills, Josie Knutson had five kills, 14 assists and two aces, Reaghan Bowers tallied 12 assists, while Brianna Geditz led the team in digs with 26.

Sully Buttes stats were not reported.

Ipswich will face Faulkton on Nov. 7.


Tripp-Delmont/Armour 3, Centerville 2

CENTERVILLE — Tripp-Delmont/Armour edged Centerville in a five-set thriller in Tuesday’s volleyball action advancing in the Region 4B playoffs. The set scores were 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 22-25 and 18-16. 

Leading Tripp-Delmont/Armour was Mia Reiner with 32 kills, three blocks, 34 digs and two aces. Kinley Spaans also had a big night with 15 kills, three blocks, 45 assists, 25 digs and an ace. Sara Bertram contributed nine kills, 18 digs and two aces while Sirenity Goehring had 11 digs and two aces. 

Althea Gust led Centerville with 16 kills and five digs. Emma Marshall added 16 kills and a dig while Keira Austin had 43 assists, a dig and an ace. Ashlyn Hagena had five kills, four blocks and three digs. 

Tripp-Delmont/Armour plays Gayville-Volin on Nov. 7.

BURKE — Class B No. 4 Burke swept Kimball/White Lake in three sets advancing in the Region 5B playoffs. The set scores were 25-12, 25-19 and 25-8.

Emmie Hausmann paced Burke with 14 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Kailee Frank finished with 11 kills, 13 digs and two aces while Paige Bull added 10 kills and three blocks. Kyrie Matucha had three aces and 16 digs. Ava Sargent finished with 16 assists while Emmy Spencer tallied 12 assists. 

Rylee McCord led Kimball/White Lake with 10 kills and 10 digs. Lindy Kiehn added 10 kills while Mariah Gosmire finished with 26 assists. Sienna Gillen finished with 20 digs and Summer Skluzak chipped in with 16 digs. 

Burke plays Avon on Nov. 7.


Gaville-Volin 3, Alcester-Hudson 0

GAYVILLE — Gayville-Volin defeated Alcester-Hudson in Region 4B playoff action during Tuesday’s action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-16, and 25-11.

GV’s Maia Achen had 17 kills, 22 digs, and two aces, Britton Scheetz tallied 33 assists, 12 digs, and three aces, Jolie Westrum recorded 25 digs, six kills, three assists, and an ace, Taylor Hoxeng had 25 digs, while Ayla Dimmer tallied 12 digs and three aces in the win.

AH’s Hannah Ahart tallied five kills and 21 digs, Paxtyn Moller tallied 18 digs, Jenna Manning recorded 20 digs, Emma Moller had 11 digs and three blocks, while Baylee Klaschen tallied 13 digs in the loss.

Gayville-Volin will face Tripp/Delmont-Armour on Nov. 7.


Castlewood 3, Iroquois-Lake Preston 0

CASTLEWOOD — Castlewood defeated Iroquois-Lake Preston during Tuesday’s Region 2B playoffs. The set scores were 25-13, 25-7, and 25-5.

Castlewood’s stats were not reported.

ILP’s Hadlee Holt tallied four kills and two blocks, Kera Dubro had four kills, Brityn Davies tallied 24 assists, while Trinity Pirlet hadd 13 digs and an ace in the loss.

Castlewood will face De Smet on Nov. 7.


Deubrook Area 3, Estelline-Hendricks 0

CASTLEWOOD — Deubrook Area swept Estelline-Hendricks during Region 2B playoffs Tuesday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-22, and 25-21.

DA’s Zoey Molengraaf tallied 12 kills, three aces, and four blocks, Kylee Johnson recorded seven kills and 18 digs, Matte Bauman had 19 digs and 25 assists, while Mataya Gouws had four blocks in the win.

EH’s stats were not reported.

Deubrook Area faces Wolsey-Wessington on Nov. 7.


Elk Point-Jefferson 3, Vermillion 0 

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson swept Vermillion in Region 4A volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-4, 25-15 and 25-8.

EPJ’s Bentlee Kollbaum posted 13 kills, four aces and three digs. Ashley Brewer added 10 kills, two aces, two digs and one block Courtney Brewer finished with five aces, five digs, 36 assists and one block. Cera Schmitz logged four kills, 13 digs, and one ace. Molly Geary logged six digs, while Kaitlyn VanRoekel had three aces and eight digs. Paige Jacobs had three kills and one dig. Jillyan VandeVegte had six kills and eight blocks. 

Elk Point-Jefferson will play Sioux Falls Christian on Nov. 7.


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Beresford 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 3 Sioux Falls Christian swept Beresford in the Region 4A playoffs Tuesday night. The set scores were 25-5, 25-17 and 25-16. 

Brietta Tims paced Sioux Falls Christian with13 kills, a block and two digs. Addisen Barber had two aces, seven kills, 28 assists and two digs. Chloe Bosma led with 12 digs and Jasmine VanderHaar had seven aces and five digs. Rachel Dieleman finished with five kills and three blocks.

Stats for Beresford were not reported.

Sioux Falls Christian plays Elk Point-Jefferson on Nov. 7. 


West Central 3, Madison 1

MADISON — West Central defeated Madison in four sets in Region 3A volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 23-25, 25-22, 25-21 and 25-23. 

Leading West Central was Madi Ingalls with 18 kills and 10 digs. Dawson Garry added eight kills while Cambree Ideker dished out 38 assists and had four blocks. Sophie Gross came up with seven blocks for West Central.

Jaya Engels paced Madison with 13 kills, five aces and 18 digs. Lydia Nelson came up with 11 kills while Kate Johnson chipped in with three aces. Karley Theede finished with 36 assists and Lydia Nelson had three solo blocks and one assisted block. 

West Central plays Dell Rapids on Nov. 7.


Milbank 3, Sisseton 1

ABERDEEN — Milbank defeated Sisseton in four sets during Tuesday’s Region 1B playoffs. The set scores were 25-14, 25-18, 15-25, and 25-11.

Claire Snaza had 15 kills and two blocks, Rylee Scoular tallied 25 assists and seven digs, Siera Wenzl had 11 kills, 15 digs, and two aces, Ella Sandvig recorded 17 digs and three aces, Avery Schuneman tallied 10 kills and nine digs, while Addisyn Krause had 18 assists and 19 digs in the win as well.

Sisseton’s stats were not reported.

Milbank will face Aberdeen Roncalli on Nov. 7.


Sioux Valley 3, Florence-Henry 0

VOLGA — Sioux Valley eliminated Florence-Henry from Region 2A playoffs Tuesday night. The set scores were 25-12, 25-8, and 25-12.

SV’s Kaedyn Sapp had 13 kills, six digs, and four assists, Adison Renkly tallied 11 kills and five digs, Emma Gorvin had five kills, Machaela Gerasch tallied 34 assists and four digs, while Lacey Langland had four kills in the victory as well.

FH’s Roean Raymer had eight kills, four digs, and a block, Kyra Tschakert tallied five kills, Kaylee Vavruska had 11 digs, Ashlynn Vavruska recorded 29 assists, while Ana Byer had nine assists and six digs in the loss.

Sioux Valley will face Great Plains Lutheran on Nov. 7.


Mobridge-Pollock 3, Crow Creek 0

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock swept Crow Creek in Region 6A volleyball action on Tuesday. The set scores were 25-11, 25-11 and 25-7.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Raelyn Aberle finished with seven kills and three digs. Charley Henderson added six kills and seven digs. Tegan Konold logged four kills. Sophia Overland finished with two kills, seven assists and one dig. Grace Overland had one kill and two blocks. Jersey Frederick posted two kills. Ellie Kemnitz added 10 assists and two digs. Brooke Schlomer posted three assists.

Crow Creek stats were not reported. 

Mobridge-Pollock plays Stanley County on Nov. 7. 


Wagner 3, McCook Central/Montrose 0

WAGNER — Wagner swept McCook Central/Montrose in Region 5A volleyball action Tuesday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-22 and 25-23. 

Wagner’s Ravyn Medricky finished with 15 kills, 14 kills and three blocks. Braxton Nedved led with 20 digs and 28 assists. Hannah Holzbauer contributed nine kills, 14 digs and a block. Brianna Buchs finished with an ace while Mataya Bruguier finished with a block. 

Leading McCook Central/Montrose was Addison Gordon with six kills, five assisted blocks and two assists. Maddy Lauck had six digs and 18 assists while Mya Morrison added a solo block and seven assisted blocks. 

Wagner plays Hanson on Nov. 7. 


Brandon Valley 3, Mitchell 0

MITCHELL — Brandon Valley swept Mitchell in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-28, 25-12, 25-23 and 25-17.

Brandon Valley’s Jayaunna Stroh logged 17 kills, while Abby Gruber posted 16 kills. Kennedi Boomsma logged 12 kills. Mya VanWesten had 13 digs. Gruber and Ertelt had three blocks apiece. Riya Sheley had 24 assists, while Logan McGuire finished with 18 assists.

Mitchell stats were not reported.
