St. Thomas More 3, Custer 2 

RAPID CITY — St. Thomas More outlasted Custer in a five-set Region 8A volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-10, 24-26, 14-25 and 15-7. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Northwestern 1

TULARE — Class B No. 3 Hitchcock-Tulare eliminated No. 5 Northwestern during Thursday’s Region 1B SoDak 16 qualifying match. The set scores were 15-25, 25-19, 25-23, and 25-18.

HT’s Katelyn Schroeder recorded 23 kills, 22 digs and two aces, Ella Johnson had seven kills, Lila Johnson tallied 29 assists and three aces, Gracyn Bixler had 10 assists, Cambree Hoekman recorded 11 digs, while Rebecca Huizenga led the Patriots in blocks with three.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven recorded 18 kills, Breelyn Satter tallied 12 kills and three blocks. Ella Boekelheide recorded 39 assists, 14 digs, and an ace, while Tara Blachford recorded 13 digs in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Gregory 3, Corsica-Stickney 0

BONESTEEL — Gregory swept Corsica-Stickney during Region 5B playoff action Thursday. The set scores were 25-19, 25-23, and 25-12.

Gregory stats were not reported.

Corsica-Stickney’s Sophie DeLange recorded one block, eight kills, two aces and 10 digs. Hadynn Johnson had eight digs, five kills and one block. Braylee Bordewyk logged 14 assists and three aces. Cali VandenHoek had 11 digs.

Burke 3, Avon 0

BONESTEEL — Class B No. 4 Burke swept Avon in Region 5B playoff action Thursday night. The set scores were 25-10, 25-18, and 25-19.

Burke’s Emmie Hausmann had 15 kills and three aces, Paige Bull recorded eight kills and six blocks, Kailee Frank had six kills and nine digs, Ava Sargent tallied 12 assists, while Emmy Spencer had 10 digs, two blocks, five assists, and three aces in the win as well.

Avon’s Lila Vanderlei tallied seven kills, nine digs, and two blocks, Rilyn Thury had six kills and 15 digs, Brielle Voigt tallied 12 digs, 13 assists, and one block, while Kaeli Wallinga had two blocks in the loss for the Pirates.


Hanson 3, Wagner 1

HANSON — Hanson defeated Wagner in Thursday’s Region 5A SoDak 16 qualifying match in four sets. The set scores were 25-14, 21-25, 25-17 and 25-22. 

Ava Doyle led Hanson with 16 kills, three blocks, 13 digs and two aces. Jazzy Campbell had 13 kills, one assists, 12 digs and seven aces. Jersey Kampshoff contributed 39 assists, 12 digs and an ace. Claire Bridge added two assists, 19 digs and four aces while Kylie Haiar had nine kills, a block and a dig. 

Ravyn Medricky led Wagner with 11 kills, three blocks, 12 digs and five assists. Hannah Holzbauer had 11 kills, a block and eight digs and Braxton Nedved contributed two kills, 28 assists and eight digs. Libby Kotab had 11 digs and Brylie Link chipped in with six kills, three blocks and four assists. 


Gayville-Volin 3, Tripp/Delmont-Armour 1

GAYVILLE — Gayville-Volin defeated Tripp/Delmont-Armour in four sets during Thursday’s Region 4B playoff. The set scores were 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, and 25-16.

GV’s Maia Achen tallied 21 kills, 14 digs, and one block, Paisley Dimmer had 12 kills and six digs, Aliza Westrum had nine kills, Britton Scheetz recorded 46 assists and five digs, Taylor Hoxeng had 17 digs and three aces, while Jolie Westrum recorded 16 digs and seven kills in the win.

TDA’s Mia Reiner had 21 kills and 20 digs, Kinley Spaans recorded 31 assists, 14 digs, and four kills, Sara Bertram tallied 12 digs and six kills, Ryenn Loneman had 10 digs and two kills, while Lily Blaine recorded four kills, two digs, and a block in the loss.


Faulkton Area 3, Ipswich 1

IPSWICH — Faulkton Area defeated Ipswich during Thursday’s Region 6B playoff action. The set scores were 25-27, 25-23, 25-15, and 33-31.

FA’s Claire Cotton had 52 assists and two aces, Carley Cotton recorded 34 kills and 44 digs, Anika Mueller had 10 kills and two aces, Presleigh Martinmaas had 34 digs, while Jaymi Senn tallied a block in the win.

Ipswich’s Marley Guthmiller tallied 21 kills, 19 digs and three aces, Kaylin Onken had 13 kills, Josie Knutson recorded six kills and 20 assists, Reaghan Bowers had 13 assists, Anna Neirman had four blocks, while Brianna Geditz led the Tigers in digs with 23.


Winner 3, Todd County 0

WINNER — Winner swept Todd County in Thursday’s Region 7A volleyball action. The set scores were 25-21, 25-17 and 25-16.

Winner’s Keelie Kuil finished with 13 kills and three aces. Payton Sargent had seven kills and two blocks. Gracie Root recorded 28 assists and 11 digs. Cora Moss and Adysen Pravecek had three apieces. Tessa Sieh had one block.

Todd County stats were not reported. 


Mobridge-Pollock 3, Stanley County 0

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock swept Stanley County during Region 6A playoff action. The set scores were 25-8, 25-19, and 25-13.

MP’s Raelyn Aberle tallied 11 kills, eight digs, and four aces, Charley Henderson recorded nine kills and 13 digs, Tegan Konold had seven kills and 12 digs, Sophia Overland recorded 17 assists, nine digs, six aces, and four kills, Ellie Kemnitz had 14 assists and three digs, while Jacy Netterville tallied 11 digs in the victory.

Stanley County’s stats were not reported.


Hamlin 3, Clark-Willow Lake 0

HAYTI — Hamlin swept Clark-Willow Lake during Thursday’s Region 2B playoff action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-18, and 25-19.

Hamlin’s Addison Neuendorf recorded 21 kills, 11 digs, and one block, Addie Steffensen had 12 kills, 22 digs, and two blocks, Addie Jensen recorded eight kills and two blocks, while Issie Steffensen had 37 assists, 14 digs, and two aces in the victory.

CWL’s Shay Michalski tallied eight kills, and one block, Sami Brenden recorded 13 assists, Zoey Helkenn had nine digs, while Kadee Frankfurth had eight digs in the loss.


Dakota Valley 3, Lennox 2

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley survived a scare from Lennox before knocking off Lennox in a Region 4A, five-set thriller on Thursday night. The set scores were 25-11, 25-14, 16-25, 18-25 and 15-7. 

Leading Dakota Valley was Claire Munch who finished with 24 kills, four blocks, 22 digs and an ace. Maddie Munch dished out 37 assists, two kills, two blocks, eight digs and four aces. Sammy Kimball had nine kills, 19 digs and an ace. Reagan Granstrom contributed three assists, 23 digs and three aces while Emerson Mead chipped in with three kills, seven blocks and four digs. 

Stats for Lennox were not reported.


Miller 3, Platte-Geddes 0 

MILLER — Class A No. 4 Miller swept Platte-Geddes in Region 6A volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-11, 25-9 and 25-13.

Miller’s Paige Werdel and Aleah Schlechter finished with eight kills apiece. Schlechter posted 15 digs. Kate Lichty and Gracen Werdel had six kills apiece. Paige Werdel had two aces. Jolie Palmer posted four aces and 10 digs. Olivia Resel recorded 31 assists. Emma Pugh had seven digs. Gracen Werdel had seven digs. 

For Platte-Geddes, Kori VanDerWerff had seven kills and one block. Kolbi Hoffman finished with eight assists. Addison DeVries had six digs and one kill. Halle Sprik posted nine digs. Mallory Gant had eight digs. Claire Maydrew had one kill.
