Oct. 17 Volleyball Roundup - Scotland rallies past Hanson for five-set victory

Scotland 3, Hanson 2

ALEXANDRIA — Scotland rallied from a 2-0 deficit and picked up a five-set high school volleyball win over Hanson on Monday. The set scores were 11-25, 18-25, 25-16, 25-12 and 15-9.

Scotland’s Trinity Bietz posted 17 kills and 13 digs. Martina DeBoer added 12 kills, 15 digs, three aces and one block. Grace Robb had 21 digs and three aces. Jerica Stark and Claire Janish had five and three blocks, respectively. Janish finished with 16 assists and 14 digs. Kalley Vitek posted 12 assists and 17 digs. Bailey Vitek added 14 digs.

Hanson’s Annalyse Weber finished with 14 kills, 20 digs, two aces and recorded her 1,000th career dig. Kylie Haiar added seven kills. Kate Haiar added five kills, while Jersey Kampshoff posted 17 digs. Jalyn Kampshoff finished with 21 assists, 16 digs and three kills. Cadence Jarding had five digs, while Claire Bridge had 10 digs. Taziah Hawkins had three kills. 

 



Platte-Geddes 3, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 1

ARMOUR — Platte-Geddes picked up a four-set high school volleyball win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Monday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-22, 24-26, and 25-16.

Platte-Geddes’ Karly VanDerWerff led with 22 kills, 20 digs, and three blocks. Cadence Van Zee tallied 17 kills, 24 digs, and two aces, while Regan Hoffman logged 16 kills, 24 digs, and two aces. Avery DeVries had 53 assists and 13 digs, while Hadley Hanson added 20 digs and three aces.

TDA’s Megan Reiner had 13 kills and 18 digs, while Gracey Schatz tallied 13 kills and 11 digs. Hannah Stremick had 26 assists, while Faith Goehring and Mia Reiner added 10 and nine difgs, respectively.

 



Miller 3, Wolsey-Wessington 0 

MILLER — Class A No. 5 Miller swept Class B No. 5 Wolsey-Wessington in straight sets in Monday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-24, 25-20 and 25-21.

Miller’s Ally Mullaney finished with 12 kills, while Jaden Werdel had 10 kills and 15 digs. Aleah Schlechter added five kills and Tricia Lammers had three kills. Tyra Gates recorded 30 assists, 18 digs and two aces. Jolie Palmer logged 27 digs and Journey Palmer had 10 digs. Abbi Blake and Ruby Carder each had aces. 

Wolsey-Wessington’s Leah Williams finished with eight kills and 13 digs. Kailynn Dorris added three kills. Lainey Uttecht and Emree White had two aces. White recorded four blocks. Taylor Horn finished with 21 assists. Uttecht added 19 digs, while Mya Boomsma had 12 digs. 


Viborg-Hurley 3, Freeman 2

VIBORG — Viborg-Hurley outlasted Freeman in a five-set high school volleyball match on Monday. The set scores were 21-25, 25-18, 25-19, 23-25 and 15-13.

Viborg-Hurley’s Coral Mason pounded out 31 kills and added 13 digs. Denae Mach logged 11 kills and 19 digs. Addison Huth added seven kills and six digs. Estelle Lee posted five kills and six digs. Charley Nelson had 28 digs and three aces. Mataya Vannorsdel dished out 45 assists and had 18 digs. 

Freeman’s Kate Miller finished with 15 kills and 20 digs. Erin Uecker posted seven kills, 14 digs and two blocks. Ashlin Jacobson recorded six kills, 19 digs and two blocks. Cami Fransen added 25 assists and 16 digs. 


Faulkton Area 3, Aberdeen Roncalli 1

FAULKTON — Faulkton Area earned a four-set high school volleyball win over Aberdeen Roncalli on Monday. The set scores were 22-25, 25-21, 25-20, and 25-14.

Faulkton Area’s Addison Melius led with 15 kills, while Carley Cotton tallied 10 kills and 33 digs. Kelli Stoecker logged nine kills, while Gabby Kast had 18 digs, 34 assists, and two blocks. Trisha Cramer added 18 digs.

Aberdeen Roncalli stats were not reported.


Highmore-Harrold 3, Crow Creek 0

HIGHMORE — Highmore-Harrold swept Crow Creek for a high school volleyball win on Monday. The set scores were 25-5, 25-13, and 25-20.

Highmore-Harrold’s Reghan Westcott tallied 11 kills and eight digs, while Addison McDonnell had nine kills. Brooklyn Baloun had 26 assists and seven digs, while Kendall Cermak added five aces.

Crow Creek stats were not reported.
