Winner 46, West Central 12

WINNER — Class 11B No. 1 Winner rushed for 362 yards en route to a high school football win over Class 11A No. 1 West Central.

Winner’s Riley Orel paced the balanced rushing attack with 111 rushing yards on nine carries and scored two touchdowns. Karson Keiser added 79 rushing yards and scored a touchdown. Aiden Barfuss rushed for 76 yards and scored two rushing scores. Jack Peters recorded four tackles on defense and Keiser intercepted a pass. 

West Central finished with 103 total yards. West Central’s Justin Zirpel logged 42 passing yards and one passing touchdown, while rushing for 56 yards. Crew Heier hauled in two catches for 17 yards and had a receiving touchdown. Caden Hall and Dalton Mulder both had six tackles on defense. 

Gregory 49, Burke 7

BURKE — Class 9A No. 2 Gregory got back on track Friday night earning a win over rival Burke in high school football action. 

Owen Hansen piled up 178 yards rushing with one touchdown. Kade Stukel added 88 yards while rushing for two scores. Rylan Peck threw one touchdown pass and picked up 68 yards rushing yards with two touchdowns. Gregory’s Gannon Thomas, Rane Kenzy and Gunner Stephens each had six tackles apiece. Stephens finished with two sacks. 

Sawyer Tietgen led Burke with 53 rushing yards while Reed Benter added 42 yards on the ground for Burke. Benter threw a touchdown pass for Burke. Tietgen and Ira Burroughs logged 13 and 11 tackles, respectively. 

 

Wall 54, Kimball-White Lake 0

KIMBALL — Class 9AA No. 2 Wall racked up 371 total yards and blanked Kimball/White Lake in Friday high school football action. 

Wall’s Burk Blasius completed 10 of 10 passes for 184 yards and threw four passing touchdowns. Blasius also rushed for a touchdown. Rylan McDonnell hauled in four catches for 124 yards and had two receiving touchdowns. Blair Blasius and Cedar Amiotte both had receiving touchdowns. Amiotte rushed for 91 yards on eight carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Bridger Casjens and Mason Heath added rushing touchdowns. Blair Blasius had six tackles on defense, while Norman Livermont had 5.5 tackles and a sack.

KWL’s Iden Myers rushed for 22 yards, while Park Sinclair threw for eight yards. Nathan Mohnen hauled in eight receiving yards. Myers posted six tackles on defense.


Lyman 32, Sully Buttes 8

PRESHO — Class 9A No. 4 Lyman improved to 6-1 with a win over Sully Buttes in high school football action Friday night. 

Tance Wagner led the Raiders with 96-yards rushing and two touchdowns. Teagan Gourneau threw for 120 yards and two touchdown passes while rushing for 61 yards and a touchdown. Wagner and Cooper Long hauled in touchdown receptions for Lyman. 

Landon Hepker finished with 37 yards rushing to go with a rushing touchdown for Sully Buttes. 


Herreid/Selby Area 58, Potter County 14

GETTYSBURG — Class 9B No. 1 Herreid/Selby Area used an explosive and balanced offense to earn a win over Potter County on Friday night. 

Brenden Begeman carried the ball 26 times for 343 yards with four rushing touchdowns. Tray Hettick completed nine passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushing touchdowns for the Wolverines. Trevor Gill caught three passes for 94 yards with two touchdowns. Nathan Bradford led the defense with 11 tackles. 

Landon Larson connected with Ryder Falkenhagen with two touchdown passes to lead the Battlers. 


Platte-Geddes 40, Colman-Egan 0

PLATTE — Platte-Geddes rushed for 296 yards and blanked Colman-Egan in Friday high school football action. 

Joey Foxley led the Black Panthers with 111 rushing yards and scored two rushing touchdowns. Jack Ringling added 60 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Parker Bailey and Kasen Konstanz both had rushing touchdowns. Emmit Holzbauer threw for 10 yards, while Quincy Stephens had 10 receiving yards. Jye Bailey posted four tackles on defense.

Colman-Egan’s Jack Mousel threw for 25 yards, while Hayden Peterson rushed for 24 yards on seven carries. Jackson Wright hauled in 19 receiving yards. Peterson posted 8.5 tackles on defense.


Harding County/Bison 44, Timber Lake 22

BUFFALO — Harding County/Bison overcame a sluggish start to earn a win over Timber Lake in high school football action Friday night. 

Kelby Hett led the Ranchers with 185 yards passing and two touchdowns. Hett also added a 3-yard rushing touchdown. Rylee Veal rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown while Braden Routier also added a rushing touchdown. Gage Gilbert caught 11 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns for Harding County-Bison. 

Gracen Hansen led Timber Lake, throwing for 146 yards with two touchdowns while rushing for 88 yards for the Panthers. Slater Ducheneaux had a rushing touchdown and an 83-yard touchdown reception for Timber Lake. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 64, Florence-Henry 13

HENRY — Class 9AA No. 5 Elkton-Lake Benton remained undefeated with a win over Florence-Henry on Friday night. 

Ryan Krog led the Elks with 84 yards rushing and two rushing touchdowns. Krog completed seven passes for 189 yards with three passing touchdowns. Tanner Stein caught four passes for 88 yards including one touchdown pass. Quintin Westley added a 47-yard interception return for a score for the Elks. 

Tegan Sumner led Florence/Henry with 163 yards passing and two touchdowns. Mehki Keller and Clay Trupe each had touchdown receptions for the Falcons. 

 

Castlewood 54, Waverly-South Shore 0

WAVERLY — Class 9A No. 3 Castlewood cruised past Waverly-South Shore for a high school football win on Friday.

Castlewood’s Lane Tvedt passed for 64 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for 33 yards and one touchdown. Quincy Thu rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown, while Joe Decker had 33 rushing yards and one score. Carson Kirwan had one rushing and one receiving touchdown, while Brody Bass added a rushing touchdown.

Waverly-South Shore was led by Kolby Ries with 25 rushing yards. The Coyotes were held to one yard of total offense.

 

Kadoka Area 44, Faith 6

KADOKA — Kadoka Area racked up 470 total yards and picked up a Friday high school football win over Faith. The Kougars rushed for 432 yards. 

Kadoka Area’s Reece Ohrtman rushed for 119 yards on 14 carries, while Gus Stout added 101 rushing yards and a touchdown. Tyus Williams rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Garrett Hermann and Gabriel Fauske scored rushing touchdowns. Hermann threw for 38 yards and had a passing touchdown to Fauske. Defensively, Layne Palmer had 11 tackles and two sacks. 

No stats were reported for Faith.

 

Hamlin 51, Great Plains Lutheran 0

HAYTI — Class 9AA No. 4 Hamlin cruised past Great Plains Lutheran in a high school football game on Friday.

Hamlin’s Luke Fraser rushed seven times for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Evan Stormo rushed for 35 yards and two touchdowns, while Kadyn Swenson added one rushing touchdown. Tyson Stevenson passed for 49 yards, while Aiden Abraham had one receiving touchdown.

GPL’s Jacob Bartels passed for 24 yards, while Micah Holien rushed for 17 yards.


Wolsey-Wessington 47, Britton-Hecla 8

BRITTON — Wolsey-Wessington scored 33 first-half points on their way to a win over Britton-Hecla on Friday night. 

Quarterback Blaze Herdman led the Warbirds with 154 yards passing and three touchdowns. Austin Wyant rushed for 72 yards scoring one touchdown. Tate French snagged a pair of touchdown passes to go along with 54 yards receiving. 

BoDell Davidson led Britton-Hecla with 76 yards rushing while Bryce Hawkinson added 34 yards on the ground for the Braves. 


Ipswich 68, Dupree 16

DUPREE — Ipswich used a balanced attack to earn a high scoring win over Dupree on Friday night. 

Tyler Hettich rushed for 193 yards on ten carries while racking up four rushing touchdowns. Carter Geditz added a rushing touchdown for the Tigers. Ian Beyers completed all eight of his passes piling up 202 yards with three touchdowns. Hettich, Geditz and Chet Peterson all caught touchdown passes for Ipswich. 

Stats were not available for Dupree. 


Jim River 38, Tripp-Delmont-Armour-AC-DC 6

SCOTLAND — Jim River logged 321 total yards and picked up a Friday high school football win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian. The Trappers rushed for 291 yards in the win. 

Logan Sayler logged 129 rushing yards on 14 carries, while Ajay Herrboldt posted 60 rushing yards. Stephen Johnson and Izayah Ulmer both had rushing touchdowns. Herrboldt hauled in a touchdown reception from Kadeyn Ulmer, who threw for 30 yards. Tyrus Bietz logged seven tackles, while Herrboldt had two interceptions on defense. 

For Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian, Mason Reiner threw for 50 yards and had a passing touchdown. Garth Maas rushed for 35 yards. Hunter Loeffler added 50 receiving yards and hauled in a touchdown reception. Loeffler and Payton Westendorf had six tackles apiece. Carlin Hopkins had an interception. 


Milbank 43, Sisseton 6

SISSETON — Milbank found the win column for the first time this season earning a win over Sisseton on Friday night. 

Garrett Mertens led the Bulldogs with four touchdown passes to go along with 108 yards and one rushing touchdown. Barrett Schneck finished with 70 yards rushing and a touchdown. Jayden Johnson hauled in two touchdown passes while Sawyer Gauer caught a touchdown pass. 

Lavonte Carter led Sisseton with one rushing touchdown while gaining 14 yards on the night. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 48, Tri-Valley 7

ELK POINT — Class 11B No. 2 Elk Point-Jefferson rolled to a win over Tri-Valley in high school football action Friday night. 

It was a run heavy night for the Huskies with Ben Swatek rushing for 114 yards and a touchdown. Lucas Hueser ground out 64 yards and two rushing touchdowns while Devon Schmitz added 30 yards with two rushing touchdowns. Noah McDermott found Garrett Merkley for a 30-yard touchdown pass for Elk Point-Jefferson.

Colby Carruthers led Tri-Valley with 59 yards rushing. Landyn Reiser had a 3-yard rushing touchdown for the Mustangs. 


Tea Area 49, Spearfish 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class 11AA No. 2 Tea Area shutout Spearfish behind a bruising running game to earn a win in high school football action Friday night. 

Keegan DeYoung racked up 108 yards on the ground while Chase Van Tol accounted for 79 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Blake Thompson, Jackson Smythe and Maddix Slykhuis all had rushing touchdowns for the Titans. Slykhuis also threw for two touchdown passes, one each to Van Tol and Ethan McKnelly. 

Bridger Niehaus led Spearfish with 31 yards rushing while Brady Hartwig led the Spartans with ten tackles. 


Madison 41, Lennox 19

MADISON — Madison used a balanced attack to earn a win over Lennox in high school football action Friday night. 

Ben Brooks led Madison with 122 yards on 15 carries, rushing for two touchdowns. Brooks added 163 yards passing with two touchdown passes. Bruce Galde had 113 yards on the ground with one rushing touchdown while also catching a touchdown pass. Andrew Comes had the other touchdown reception for Madison. 

Lennox quarterback Braeden Wulf threw for 296 yards with three touchdown passes. Porter Inhen had 11 receptions for 232 yards and caught all three touchdown strikes from Wulf.
