Lemmon 3, New Underwood 0

NEW UNDERWOOD — Lemmon swept New Underwood in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-21 and 25-15.

Corsica-Stickney 3, Freeman 1

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney earned a four-set victory over Freeman Thursday night. The set scores were 25-16, 25-16, 17-25, and 26-24.

Sophie DeLange had 25 kills, 18 assists, 16 digs, and three aces, Braylee Bordewyk tallied 16 kills, 19 assists, and 23 digs, while Cali Vanden Hoek had 25 digs in the win.

Freeman’s stats were not reported.


Miller 3, Hitchcock-Tulare 0

MILLER — Class A No. 4 Miller swept Class B No. 4 Hitchcock-Tulare in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 29-27, 25-17 and 25-23.

Miller’s Paige Werdel finished with 10 kills, seven digs and one ace. Aleah Schlechter posted eight kills, one block, two aces and 14 digs. Kaihlyn Anderberg had seven kills. Gracen Werdel had four kills. Jolie Palmer posted 15 kills. Kate Lichty had seven digs and three aces. Olivia Resel recorded 33 assists. 

For HT, Katelyn Schroeder recorded 17 kills, 12 digs and one ace. Ella Johnson added eight kills and 12 digs. Rebecca Huizenga added five kills. Gracyn Bixler posted 11 assists. Lila Johnson had 20 assists and 12 digs. Cambree Hoekman added 17 digs. Cora Hofer had five blocks, while Isabel Gilbert posted four blocks.


Hamlin 3, Sisseton 0

HAYTI — A big night from Addie Neuendorf helped Hamlin to a sweep of Sisseton in high school volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-16 and 25-16. 

Neuendorf led Hamlin with 15 kills, six aces and 15 digs. Addie Steffenson finished with eight kills and 15 digs with Jo Steffensen chipped in with seven kills, four aces and 12 digs. Issie Steffensen finished with 32 assists and had one assisted block. 

Stats for Sisseton were not reported.


Dakota Valley 3, Madison 0

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley defeated Madison in straight sets in Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-15, 25-13, and 25-19.

DV’s Sammy Kimball recorded 15 kills and 10 digs, Maddie Munch had 38 assists, Aubrey Worden tallied seven kills and a block, Claire Munch had 12 kills and 15 digs, while Emerson Mead recorded five kills and two blocks in the win.

Madison’s Jaya Engels tallied five kills and six digs, Grace Feige had five kills, Karley Theede tallied 18 assists and four digs, while Lydia Nelson had four kills, six digs, and two blocks in the loss.


Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Deubrook Area 0

WHITE — Elkton-Lake Benton swept Deubrook Area in high school volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-18, and 36-34.

ELB’s Andrea Renkly had 21 kills, 17 digs, and two blocks, Charlie Thooft recorded 17 kills and 15 digs, Madde Jensen tallied five kills and a block, while Malyha Slegers dished out 44 assists in the win.

Deubrook Area’s Zoey Molengraaf had 15 kills and three blocks, Matte Bauman tallied six kills and 35 assists, Kylee Johnson had 11 kills, while Maddie Schulte recorded 15 digs in the loss.


Northwestern 3, Faulkton Area 0

MELLETTE — Class B No. 5 Northwestern swept Faulkton Area in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-11, 25-18 and 25-15.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven finished with 14 kills, 10 digs and one block. Brooklyn Satter added seven kills and two blocks. Taylor Vetter finished with five kills. Ella Boekelheide added 30 assists and three aces. Anna Brumfield and Tara Blachford had three aces apiece. Anna Brumfield added 12 digs. Payton Grandpre, Brumfield and Boekelheide had blocks.

For Faulkton Area, Carley Cotton posted 16 kills, 17 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Anika Mueller added 11 digs. Presleigh Martinmaas had one block.


Centerville 3, Scotland 1

CENTERVILLE — Centerville defeated Scotland in four sets Thursday night in high school volleyball action. The set scores were 21-25, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-9.

Centerville’s Emma Marshall had nine kills and five digs, Althea Gust recorded eight kills and 12 digs, Keira Austin dished out 26 assists and a block, Addison Buckneberg and Lillee Shearer each had four kills, while Rylie Tieman tallied five aces in the win.

Scotland’s Kailin Odens recorded eight kills, 11 blocks, and three digs, Trinity Bietz tallied eight kills, 14 digs, and two blocks, Emily Dvorak had nine blocks and four digs, Hope Starwalt tallied nine digs and 19 assists, while Savannah Meng had three kills, 11 digs, and five blocks in the loss.


Avon 3, Bridgewater-Emery 0

AVON — Avon downed Bridgewater-Emery in straight sets for a high school volleyball win Thursday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-19 and 25-20. 

Brielle Voigt led Avon with 24 assists, two aces and ten digs. Lila Vanderlei finished with 14 kills and Lexi Vanderlei finished with 14 digs and two aces. Rilyn Thury added an ace and 11 kills with Jordyn Voigt coming up with 12 digs. 

Oakley Weber led Bridgewater-Emery with six kills, three aces and 11 assists. Hayden Hofer contributed an ace, five kills, eight digs and 12 assists while Macie Weber chipped in with five kills and ten digs. 


Gayville-Volin 3, Menno 0 

GAYVILLE — Gayville-Volin swept Menno in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-11.

GV’s Maia Achen posted 13 kills, 13 digs, two aces and two assists. Paisley Dimmer had 11 kills and two digs. Aliza Westrum logged 10 kills and two digs. Taylor Hoxeng had 17 digs and two aces. Jolie Westrum posted 15 digs and two kills. Britton Scheetz posted 27 assists and 11 digs. Kayden Bye posted three kills. 

For Menno, Haylee Hall posted four kills, 12 digs and one assist. Joslynn Fischer posted three kills, seven assists, seven digs and four aces. Lexie McNinch and Amanda Rames posted three kills apiece. McNinch posted two blocks. Ellyana Ulmer had 13 digs. Nora Robb had six digs, five assists, two blocks and one kill. Taylor Freier had 12 digs.


Iroquois-Lake Preston 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

MILLER — Iroquois-Lake Preston swept Sunshine Bible Academy in Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-11, and 25-17.

ILP’s Natalie Cundy had 13 kills and a block, Hadlee Holt tallied eight kills, 23 digs, and four aces, Trinity Pirlet had 19 digs, Amelia Holland recorded eight kills and a block, Brityn Davies tallied 17 assists, while Kera Dubro had six kills and three aces in the win as well.

SBA’s Natasha Appel had six kills and an ace, Kennedy Keck recorded 10 digs, Dakota Boersma had five digs, three kills, and a block, Abby Hinman tallied eight assists, while Ciera Mickelson had three kills and two blocks in the loss.


Freeman Academy/Marion 3, Howard 1

HOWARD — Freeman Academy/Marion picked up a four-set high school volleyball win on Thursday over Howard. The set scores were 25-11, 16-25, 25-13 and 25-23.

FAM’s Lanae Waldner had 13 kills and four blocks. Kallie Johnson posted 11 kills and 31 digs. Anna Olson added six kills and one block. Emma McConniel posted 30 digs. Harli Ross posted 20 assists. Haley Stahl, McConniel and Johnson had two aces apiece. Maliyah Nankievel had six kills and 22 digs. 

For Howard, Tana Hoyer had six kills, 21 digs and three blocks. Hannah Brown logged five kills. Halle Schultz posted 20 digs. Reese Rudebusch posted 15 assists and two aces. Dakota Spader had an ace. 


Groton 3, Milbank 0

MILBANK — Groton swept Milbank in Thursday high school football action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-17 and 25-21.

Leading Groton was Chesney Weber with eight kills, two aces and 13 assists. Jerica Locke had three aces and 16 digs while Rylee Dunker added seven kills and three blocks. Jaedyn Penning finished with three aces and 14 digs. 

Claire Snaza paced Milbank with seven kills and two blocks. Addisyn Krause led with seven assists and 16 digs. Siera Wenzl added 14 digs for Milbank. 


Harrisburg 3, Pierre 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 1 Harrisburg swept Pierre in girls high school volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-11, 25-4 and 25-10. 

Harrisburg’s Gabi Zachariasen powered the Tigers with 16 kills, two blocks and seven digs. Karalynn Leach recorded 10 kills and led with three blocks while Josalyn Samuels finished with 24 assists. Maggie Meister added 15 digs in the win. 

Campbell Cronin led Pierre with six kills and Molly Olson passed out six assists for Pierre.


Brandon Valley 3, Yankton 0

YANKTON — Brandon Valley took down Yankton in straight sets during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-11, and 25-19.

BV’s Jayaunna Stroh had 13 kills, Abby Gruber tallied 10 kills and two blocks. Mya Van Westen tallied 10 digs, while Jayna James had six digs. Logan McGuire tallied 19 assists and two aces, Riya Sheley had 12 assists, two blocks, and two aces in the win.

Yankton’s stats were not reported.
