Douglas 3, Sturgis 1

STURGIS — Douglas topped Sturgis in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-22, 26-24, 20-25 and 26-24.


Burke 3, Boyd County, Neb. 0

SPENCER, Neb. — Class B No. 2 Burke swept Boyd County, Nebraska in Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-15, 25-6 and 25-13. 

Burke’s Emmie Hausmann finished with 15 kills and eight digs. Ava Sargent led with 17 assists while Emmy Spencer added 11 assists. Paige Bull contributed 10 kills and two blocks. Kailee Frank had five kills and 11 digs and Kyrie Matucha led with 20 digs. 

Stats for Boyd County were not reported. 


Miller 3, Parkston 1

PARKSTON — Class A No. 4 Miller downed Parkston in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 20-25, 25-16, 25-20 and 25-14.

Miller’s Aleah Schlechter posted 14 kills and seven digs. Paige Werdel added 10 kills, while Kaitlyn Anderberg logged eight kills. Gracen Werdel posted six kills and nine digs. Olivia Resel had 38 assists and two aces. Jolie Palmer posted 34 digs. Kate Lichty had six digs. Olivia Nye had two aces. Schlechter and Paige Werdel had two blocks apiece.

Parkston stats were not reported. 


Bridgewater-Emery 3, Wessington Springs 0

EMERY — Bridgewater-Emery swept Wessington Springs in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-7.

Bridgewater-Emery’s Oakley Weber finished with 10 kills, 15 assists and 12 digs. Hayden Hofer added nine kills, nine assists and 16 digs. Macie Weber added six kills and eight digs. Reese Meyer-Bublitz recorded five kills. Maizey Strombeck posted 28 digs and two aces. 

For Wessington Springs, Mariah Messmer logged 16 assists and 15 digs. Kendall Kolousek added seven kills and Remie Roduner had 18 digs. Raygen Teveldal posted two kills and three blocks. Ashlyn Weber had six kills.


Sioux Valley 3, Flandreau 0

FLANDREAU — Sioux Valley improved to 15-1 after sweeping Flandreau during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-21, 25-19, and 25-20.

SV’s Adison Renkly tallied 18 kills, 10 digs, and three blocks, Kaedyn Sapp had nine kills, 12 digs, and three aces, Keyra Kruse recorded three blocks, Caitlin Russell had 21 digs while Emma Gorvin had 11 digs in the win.

Flandreau’s Sadie Iott tallied 10 kills, 22 digs, and an ace, Ella Hoffman had five kills, Aly Schepel tallied 12 assists and a block, while Addy Hammer had 15 digs and two assists in the loss


Mobridge-Pollock 3, Stanley County 0

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock swept Stanley County in Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-14 and 25-13.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Charley Henderson finished with 13 kills and 10 digs. Tegan Konold added eight kills and four digs. Sophia Overland logged 20 assists and six digs. Jacy Netterville logged 19 digs and eight assists. Ellie Kemnitz posted 10 assists and three digs. Raelyn Aberle added seven digs. Grace Overland had four kills. 

Stanley County stats were not reported. 


Florence/Henry 3, Tri-State 0

FLORENCE — Florence/Henry swept Tri-State in Thursday night volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-17 and 25-14. 

Ana Byer led Florence/Henry with seven kills and 14 assists. Ashlynn Vavruska finished with eight assists and 14 digs while Kaylee Vavruska had four aces and nine digs. Rowan Raymer added seven kills, two blocks and two aces. 

Stats for Tri-State were not reported. 


Ipswich 3, Potter County 1

IPSWICH — Ipswich topped Potter County in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 22-25, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-21.

Ipswich’s Marley Guthmiller finished with four aces, 18 kills and 38 digs. Kaylin Onken added six kills. Jaydin Stiles logged four aces. Reaghan Bowers posted nine assists. Brianna Geditz logged 50 digs and Karlie Weisser added three blocks. Anna Nierman posted two blocks. 

Potter County stats were not reported. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 3, Wagner 0

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson improved to 18-3 on the season with a sweep of Wagner in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-23. 

Bentlee Kollbaum paced Elk Point-Jefferson with 19 kills, four aces, seven digs and two blocks. Courtney Brewer had 41 assists and 14 digs. Cera Schmitz had 12 kills and 17 digs and Ashley Brewer had 10 kills and four assists. Jillyan VandeVegte had five kills, a dig and two blocks. 

Ravyn Medricky led Wagner with 10 kills, 12 digs, an ace and four blocks. Hannah Holzbauer had seven kills and 10 digs and Braxton Nedved finished with two aces, nine digs and 23 assists. 


Baltic 3, Viborg-Hurley 0

VIBORG — Baltic swept Viborg-Hurley in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-9 and 25-21.

Viborg-Hurley’s Addison Huth finished with four kills, three blocks and two digs. Aubree Schwartz added three kills and five digs. Danica Gordon posted three kills and three blocks. Charley Nelson added 22 digs and two kills. Jenna Graves logged 11 digs and five assists. Kyla Peterson had four digs and two kills. Natali Blair logged seven assists and seven digs.

Baltic stats were not reported. 


Hamlin 3, Redfield 0

HAYTI — Hamlin earned a straight set sweep over Redfield during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 25-9, and 25-19.

Hamlin’s Addison Neuendorf tallied 17 kills, 16 digs, three aces, and two blocks, Issie Steffensen had 28 assists and nine kills, Addie Steffensen tallied eight kills, while Jayci Trowbridge had eight digs and two aces in the win.

Redfield’s Hayden Gall had 13 assists and nine digs, Charli Jungqirth recorded seven kills and 15 digs, while Kinley Smith tallied three blocks in the loss.


Canistota 3, Howard 0

CANISTOTA — Canistota swept Howard in Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-15. 

Emma Sandman paced Canistota with 16 kills, 20 digs, four aces and a block. Bailey Spicer contributed two kills, 23 assists, nine digs and two aces. Ember Schenkel had six kills, 13 digs and an ace while Clara Remacle finished with nine digs and an ace. 

Howard was led by Tana Hoyer who finished with three kills, 10 digs and four aces. Hannah Brown contributed 12 digs, three aces and a kill and Dakota Spader chipped in with three kills and 10 digs. 


Colman-Egan 3, Castlewood 2

COLMAN — Colman-Egan edged Castlewood in a five-set thriller in Thursday volleyball action. The set scores were 21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 27-25 and 15-6. 

Leading Colman-Egan was Brynlee Landis who finished with 28 kills, 28 digs and an ace. Finley Luze contributed 21 assists, 10 kills and three blocks. Kaylee Voekler added 31 assists, seven kills and two blocks. Presley Luze finished with 14 digs and Michoen Williamson had four aces. 

Emerson Carter led Castlewood with five aces, 24 kills, a solo block and five digs. Cassidy Kirwan dished out 21 assists and had an ace, seven kills, 13 digs and two assisted blocks. Claire Horn contributed 15 assists, 15 digs and two kills while Nora Solberg finished with four aces and 20 digs. 


Menno 3, Bon Homme 1

MENNO — Menno slipped by Bon Homme in four sets in Thursday night volleyball action. The set scores were 25-20, 25-13, 23-25 and 29-27.

Taylor Freier led Menno with 40 digs and two assists. Lexie McNinch finished with seven kills, two blocks and two digs. Haylee Hall finished with eight kills, 23 digs and two aces while Joslynn Fischer had a big night with six kills, three blocks, 14 assists, 12 digs and four aces. Nora Robb had 12 assists, 23 digs and three aces for the Wolves. 

Kenadee Kozak led Bon Homme with 18 kills, two blocks, 25 digs and an ace. Raelee Lanphear finished with seven kills, 20 digs, a block and an ace while Aspen Schonebaum had 29 assists and 12 digs. 


Centerville 3, Irene-Wakonda 0

CENTERVILLE — Centerville earned a three-set victory over Irene-Wakonda during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-23, and 25-13.

Centerville’s Emma Marshall had nine kills, Althea Gust recorded seven kills and five digs, Keira Austin had 21 assists, while Harper Wattier had five digs in the win as well.

IW’s Paige O’Daniel recorded 10 kills, Hailey Orr dished 25 assists and nine digs, Madison Orr had seven kills and 11 digs, while Brenna Lyngstad tallied six kills and six digs in the loss.


North Central 3, Strasburg-Zeeland (N.D) 0

EUREKA — North Central recorded a straight set sweep over Strasburg-Zeeland, North Dakota, during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-6, 25-17, and 25-18.

North Central’s Ella Batie had eight kills, Camryn Witlock recorded 15 assists  and seven digs, Amree Vander Vorst had six kills and five digs, while Alaina Dosch had six digs in the win as well.


Corsica-Stickney 3, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 0

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney picked up a three-set victory over TDA during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-23, 25-16, and 25-18.

CS’s Sophie DeLange tallied 23 kills, 13 assists, and 18 digs, Braylee Bordewyk had 15 kills, 21 assists, and two blocks, Cali Vanden Hoek recorded 20 digs and two aces, while Hadynn Johnson had two aces in the win as well.

TDA’s Mia Reiner recorded six kills, 12 digs, and two blocks, Kinley Spaans dished out 19 assists, Sara Bertram had five kills and nine digs, Ryenn Loneman had six kills, while Sirenity Goehring recorded nine digs in the loss.


Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Arlington 0

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton earned a three-set victory over Arlington during Thursday’s action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-16, and 25-17.

E-LB’s Andrea Renkly recorded 17 kills, 23 digs, and two blocks, Malyha Slegers had 34 assists, Charlie Thooft had nine kills and 17 digs, Sydney DeVries recorded six kills, and Quinn Slegers had 23 digs in the win.

Arlington’s Jaelyn Huntimer had 15 kills and 25 digs, Sony Johnson recorded 26 assists, Madalynn Bacon had 20 digs, while Jordan Spilde recorded three aces in the loss.


Brandon Valley 3, Aberdeen Central 0

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen Central swept Brandon Valley in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-24, 25-13 and 25-15.

Brandon Valley’s Abby Gruber posted six kills, while Jayaunna Stroh had five kills. Mya VanWesten posted 13 digs. Logan McGuire recorded 10 assists and three aces. Riya Sheley posted six assists. Ashley Ertelt had four blocks and Kennedi Boomsma had three blocks. Jayna James added two aces. 

Aberdeen Central stats were not reported.
