Philip, Wall and Kadoka Area led the 2023 Western Great Plains Conference first-team selections. 

Philip landed three players on the first team, including conference MVP Dymond Lurz. 

Lurz was joined on the first team by Kadoka Area’s Bella Williams, Philip’s Josie Menzel and Alyn Spry, Wall’s Paige Kjerstad and Nora Dinger.

On the second team, Lyman’s Skyler Volmer, Kadoka Area’s Madisyn Nemecek, Philip’s Brady Heltzel, Kadoka Area’s Shaylee Porch, Kadoka Area’s Kassidee Williams and White River’s Kam Krogman were selected.

Philip’s Rainee Snyder, Bennett County’s Reagan O’Neill, Wall’s Piper Cordes, Lyman’s Kenzie Laverdure, Jones County’s Sophie Dowling and Lyman’s Mak Scott were third-team honorees. 

Kadoka Area’s Barry Hutchinson and Philip’s Ella Smith shared conference coach of the year honors.
