Philip girls, Hill City boys win Elks Challenge golf meet

RAPID CITY — The Philip girls and Hill City boys captured team titles at Thursday’s Elks Challenge at Elks Golf Course. 

The Philip girls shot a 274, followed by Mahpiya Luta (302) and Wall (334). The Hill City boys shot a 232, edging Philip (233) and Wall (238).

The Philip girls finished 1-2-3 in the individual standings. Addy Miller and Taylor O’Connell (91) sat atop the standings, while Kendall O’Connell shot a 92. Mahpiya Luta’s Brooklyn Twiss (95) and Kimi Rama (98) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

White River’s Bryson One Star fired a 72, scoring a 36 on the front and back nines. One Star totaled nine pars, three birdies and one eagle.

Hill City’s Breylon Rahn (73) and Philip’s Shay Weber (74) placed second and third, respectively. Hill City’s Zane Messick (76) and Wall’s Trevor Schulz (77) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
