WATERTOWN — The Pierre boys golf team claimed Monday’s Watertown Invitational title. 

The Governors shot 10 over par to earn the team title, finishing four shots ahead of Watertown and eight shots ahead Harrisburg. The Governors placed four golfers among the top-15 finishers: Luke Olson (71), Sawyer Sonnenschein (75), Jack Bartlett (76) and Nick Bothun (76).

Individually, Watertown’s Jake Olson was the individual medalist with a 3-under-par 69, shooting a 34 on the front nine and a 35 on the back nine. He carded four birdies on the day. 

Luke Olson’s 1-under-par 71 was highlighted by a 35 on the back nine and he scored seven birdies in his round. 

Watertown’s Jaden Solheim (72), Aberdeen Central’s Peyton Brust (74) and Sonnenschein (75) rounded out the top-five golfers.
