Potter County girls, Dupree boys win Redfield Invitational cross-country titles

FRANKFORT — The Potter County girls and Dupree boys won team titles at Thursday’s Redfield Pheasants Invitational. 

The Potter County girls recorded 14 points, finishing ahead of Clark/Willow Lake (25) for the team title at Fisher Grove State Park. 

The Dupree boys team finished with 15 points, holding off Northwestern (23) for the team championship. 

Individually, Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide captured the girls race, covering the 5,000-meter distance in 18-minutes and :20.10 seconds. Mobridge-Pollock’s Heidi Olson (19:15.54) and Clark/Willow Lake’s Kamryn Nesheim (19:20.01) placed second and third, respectively. Potter County’s Dannika Kaup (19:37.74) and Deuel’s Jaycee Hourigan (19:44.27) rounded out the top-five runners. 

Potter County’s Emma Schlachter (19:57.75) and Jadyn Ahlemeier (20:01.75) placed seventh and eighth, respectively, to contribute to the team title. 

On the boys side, Standing Rock, North Dakota’s Lance Bradley won the 5,000-meter run in 16:30.85. Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter (16:59.60) and Northwestern’s Lincoln Woodring (17:04.91) finished second and third, respectively. Dupree’s Jessup Pederson (17:19.61) and Northwestern’s Nathan Melius (17:39.12) rounded out the top-five runners. 

Dupree’s Tayshaun Cudmore (17:53.16) and Spencer Olsen (18:16.32) placed sixth and eighth, respectively, to contribute to the team title.
