FAULKTON —- The Potter County girls and Miller boys ran away with the team titles at Wednesday’s Lakeside Invitational run at the Lakeside Country Club. 

The Potter County girls scored 10 points, ahead of James Valley Christian (27) and Aberdeen Roncalli (30). Frederick Area (31) and Warner (50) rounded out the top-five team finishes. 

The Miller boys cruised to the team title scoring just nine points, ahead of Northwestern (22) and Frederick Area (44). North Central (49) and Aberdeen Roncalli (61) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide had a strong showing on the 5,000-meter course posting a time of 19 minutes and :29.5 seconds, ahead of Mobridge-Pollock runners Heidi Olson (20:13) and Faith Heil (20:48). Potter County sophomore Dannika Kaup (20:54) and Frederick Area’s Morgan Sumption (20:57) rounded out the top-five finishers. 

In the boys 5,000-meter race Miller’s Pierce Baumberger 17:02 finished in front of teammate Alex Schumacher (17:11) and Nicholas Schlachter (17:42). Northwestern’s Lincoln Woodring (17:57) and teammate Nathan Melius (18:28) rounded out the top-five boys finishers.
